I bought the Creative Stage Air for use as the centre channel speaker connected to the Asus Xonar U7 MkII external sound card connected to my stereo amplifier/2 front speakers and stereo amplifier/2 rear speakers and to a subwoofer to improvise my Dolby 5.1 (can also be improvised to 7.1) HT system WITHOUT having to purchase a dedicated AV receiver. Now I can play HT straight from my laptop direct to my TV and sound system. The Stage Air in lacquer finish complements my TV, cabinet and sound systems, and the sound is perfect. My whole system is truly bang for my buck. So, if you have an old laptop, a stereo amp and pair of speakers and a subwoofer laying around and would like to improvise a HT system, do what I did and surprise yourself.

Just wondering if the Stage & Stage Air soundbars are the same, just a longer variant for better stereo separation. Maybe better drivers? Please don't tell me there is a subwoofer, I know that...

Does anyone know how to disassemble the speaker? I know you have to remove the front mesh first but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove it (non-destructively)
Thanks for the extensive review! The one question I still have about the Stage Air, is whether or not it can play the pc audio through the usb port, or will it only get power from the usb and then need to be connected through the mini jack?
The micro USB port is for charging. You can input the sound via AUX, BT or USB Flash Drive.

Not really a smart thing to do considering you'll be hearing it from whatever speaker you're using the sound will resonate completely different and not give an accurate demonstration of the actual hardware you're listening to.
If you want carrying case then go for the creative iroar GO i actually have one and want to compare. that its too long to carry around ..

If you want something better and more compact than the Creative stage air, look att Creative soundblaster roar pro?
Dunno why the video got such a high dislike ratio.. was overall a good detailed review on both, even for a short video. Maybe it's because of the slightly too loud intrusive background music :p
I'm looking to get the stage soundbar to replace my Z313 set I've had for years, hoping it'll be an upgrade in quality. Since the Z313's are very good in my opinion, but might be because I'm not used to anything better xD
Audiophile's and home theater enthusiasts don't like sound bars.
@@edstar83 A lot of people (myself included), will think of both those kinds of people as ones that don't exactly look at videos about audio products for like 100$.. they'll most likely piss away thousands of dollars worth lol

The sound wont be different as your speaker going to be the one producing your sound, not the Creative Stage..

Does it support dolby audio?
Every sound demo I've seen of these soundbar woofer combos is abysmal. They all sound tinny , virtually no sound stage and woofer doesn't seem to be doing anything . I pulled out my old Logitech pc speakers and hooked them to TV. Not the cleanest of setup but by far sounds much much better anything in £150 to £200 price range.

I made the mistake of buying this Creative Stage Air sound bar for my PC. It was a big mistake. Completely lacking in bass and the sound quality is borderig on poor It is horrible. I replaced it with tiny Anker Soundcore boost and retored my faith in small bluetooth speakers. My Bose SoundLink Mini 2 is loads better.
Did you compare the price also?
@@kw0064 Yes I did do a price comparison. I bought them as a cheaper replacement to my Bose Soundlink MIni 2. I have a Marshall Emberton, Anker Sound Core Boost, Tribit Maxsound Plus, all around the same price. The worst sound is the Creative.

- Creative Soundbar Stage Air (AuxIn) 20W - USD41
- Tribit Maxsound Plus (AuxIn) 24W: USD49
- Anker Soundcore Boost 20W: USD59
- Marshall Emberton 20W: USD94
- Bose Soundlink Mini II (AuxIn) 18W: USD200
The Bose was bought in the US in 2014.
If you compare the Tribit is only USD8 more but sounds a lot better than the Creative.
To get the Creative to sound like the rest you would have to add in the Sub which will bring its price to USD100.
But sound is subjective.

Juan says he tested the bigger product incorrectly by putting it in a small room. Then he goes on to say he prefers the smaller product in the small room. Completely useless review of the larger product.
Yeah no way that soundbar outputs 160w. Not in a gazillion years. How much power do they actually pull out of the wall? I don't believe for a second that they pull that much
I actually own the 2.1 stage, and noticed that as well. 160w is played up in the website marketing/specs/box, but when you dig a little deeper, the sound bar is 2x20w and the sub is 40w, which is well under 160w. Don't really care, as that's not why I bought it. I wanted something that fit under my monitors and had some low end punch, and in that regards, this thing is actually pretty nice, especially considering the price.
Way to much time babbling on about the small bar and a rushed review on the better of the two. Waffler
