My "a-ha" moment was hearing you say "removing some of the water closes the space between the fibres". I always knew that getting rid of some water made it full faster, but I didn't know why.
Idk what is is about the pillar candle holder but it is so beautiful with that curly stranded wool!! If i had candles like those I would try this in a heartbeat!! Keep it coming ladies! Excited for another year of learning with you
Marie, I'm still a novice felter having done 2D & 3B pieces and never had much interest in wet felting. I admire the beautiful work I see displayed by others with amazing shawls, pictures or purses. I wasn't going to watch today because it was wet felt and I wasn't interested. WAS I WRONG!. Watching you make the beautiful and simple vessel you might have created a monster. I think I may have to give this "wet felting" concept a try. If my old body holds out, this may be fun! Your tutorial was great. Thanks for being such a patient and detailed teacher.🥰
@@LivingFelt I'm putting the wet felt starter kit on my Wish List. I have a couple of commissions to finish before I spend more money. I'm looking forward to watching the next Wednesday tutorials to learn even more. Have a super week-end and thanks for your continued support.🤩
Great project over a resist for a wet felt beginner. So many ways to dress it up. Love the short version and the Q&A where lots of questions can be addressed.
This is one of my favorite wet felting projects! I made several Christmas centerpieces last year and the centers were these hurricane lights! They are quick and easy to make, so if you’ve never wet felted before, this is a good project to start with!
I was thinking of adding little flower around the top. Just have to learn how to make them. Just started needle felting and fell in love with all the options of wet felting. Watching all of your tutorials and love them. Your kind spirit just shines through and you are a joy to watch!
Beautiful! I've wanted to make one of these for a long time. Thank you so much for the helpful tutorial! Planning to head to the recycle center and dig through the bins. :)
I loved this video and have made a few since! I think they’re great. Wondering if the candle could be put in a little tea light holder or if the jar has to be large enough to cover the entire vessel’s interior?
Hi Creative women, Help please! I listen to your video: "Beginner Wet Felting over a Resist Tutorial - Hurricane Candle Holders" I'm a beginner. When I looked how you make the resit: I don't understand how the "Resist Pattern" appear to be higher than wider. The 7" are the bottle circumference, so it goes around the bottle and the bottle high is only the height of the bottle, isn't it? Please, would you tell me where I'm lost? Thank-you.

Favorite takeaway is that shrinkage is impeded by resistance and one must consider that especially in the choice of fiber…
I appreciated learning about the importance of directional rolling for this project

I like to do format. And the Q&A afterwards was great. And the examples of how people I've made vessels was wonderful.
Great to hear!

Hi I would like to try making a round vessel. Where would you add extra wool for the base?
At bottom on both sides - think of it as a half circle on side a and half on side b.
@@LivingFelt thank you
I missed the live, what is a resist???? What material is that? Thank you
Is there any other materials we can use as a resist that we may have at home?
Resist is a material that prevents the 2 sides from felting together. Ours is a thin foam product that is reusable.
Do you have a link for the wood base lights you used?
