How many hours had you invested to be able to offer up this smooth demo? Are your outro manipulations calculated choices or abot of random experimentation.? You make it all look/ sound so effortless.
Thanks for the good question, the first song took much longer than usual a couple hours, was kinda rusty and being a perfectionist. The other three only took a couple takes each, once I got into the flow by finishing the first one. The punch in FX to a certain extent I kinda just get lucky, but you can also sequence the punch in and tape effect and mute/unmute those tracks which means technically you can pre program your punch in fx.
Not really interested in this one but had to click cus I recognized your name. Watched a boiler room set of you like ten years ago and had to rip it as an mp3. Thanks for that set
Might be a couple presets, but I think you’d probably be interested in making your own presets using the multi-sampler. I could also see more in depth sample libraries being released for the multisampler by third parties in the future.
It’s certainly an investment. I remember getting financing on my MPC2000xl back in the day and it ended up being over 2000$ at the time. Paying it off over a couple years working minimum wage. It’s really cool you can get a P-6 or 404mk2, mpc One, Koala on iPhone, mk1 Octatrack all options around 200-900$ There really wasn’t so many viable affordable options back then. The XY is a luxury because there are phone and computer apps capable of creating any sound imaginable, but imho what the XY does and the way it does it, along with the build quality makes it worth the price in comparison to the other machines I listed.
dat first track was the best demo i seen of this device; but i just feel all these software enhancements should of been added to the field; and just have the feild be availble in two colours
@@Me-ne5uu lol its not been too bad, I think it’s a bit embarrassing the complaining about the price, but l only delete stuff if they’re really rude or mean. It’s a niche cutting edge musical instrument with the build quality of a MacBook and more features and capabilities than anything else available. These things are made by a relatively small team and cost a lot to make, so they have to charge this price to make the product viable. The PO and EP series as well as the OP-Z are all more affordable options Teenage Engineering offers.
More features and capabilities.. MPC just spit out it's coffee!! I get your excited and this is really cool and portable.. but lots of stuff will crap all over this.. not even in the same category really as far as features and capability.. it is great at glitching though.. Say this as someone with a ko2, used to own opz, and will probably buy this too anyway.
@@virtualflannel you said has more features and capabilities of anything else on the market? Bro are you living under a rock or just a paid shill?😂 name 3 things opxy can do that nothing else can’t???
If anything, it makes me appreciate TE for keeping in touch(?) with their early adopters/fans no matter how small. Or something business something. All and all, I can't complain with demonstrations released at the same time with announcements.
ok this thing looks crazy i was not expecting that outro breakdown. sick showcase!
Thank you dude! Paid almost the same as this thing costs for my MPC2000xl way back when they first came out. The machines are pretty wild these days.
Nice showcase! I wondered if you'd have one of these already. Going to see if Steezo has one next ;)
Thanks for checking it out! 🔲🔳
Love this groove.Thank you.I am considering this...getting closer thanks to you!!
Hey man, Bobby of Vrtua here. Cool to come across one of your vids. The OP XY sounds amazing!
Been a minute, cool to hear from you! Going to have to catch up and see what you’ve been working on lately! ☑️🤍

Thanks for the video! It sounds really cool! Can I upload my samples to this device?
You bet!
Looks INCREDIBLE!!!
It’s my fave beat machine ever tbh.
@@virtualflannelcan I make songs on it by looping vocal samples? Do you know how long each sample can be time-wise?

The machines are really different, the OP1 tape workflow makes it really unique.
So this is what $2300 bucks sounds like?? 😂 🏴☠️ great video

Gd, you sound insufferable.
How do you connect it to your computer?
USB C
@virtualflannel
That's it? The audio and MIDI?
It’s got every type of output you could ask for, peep the manual. Audio out midi out, cv out, audio and midi over usb, wireless midi. It’s great!
@virtualflannel
That sounds dope. What's your favorite feature?
The punch in fx, brain track and tape track are really fun. But it’s the overall workflow that really sets it apart, it’s so fast and fun.
Can this slice samples ?
Nope. Octa mk2 still the goat
👍🏽
🖤
Good yob!
