We tried out those Dreamsicle beignets and they were very good. Those little stars ends up all over your lips, which is kind of cool and silly at the same time.

Tiff, you're a treasure! PS: the decorations on Pan de Muerto are supposed to resemble a skull (the little nub on top) and bones (the "phalanges") reminiscent of Pre-Columbian Mexican burials! Spoopy! They don't usually have custard or sprinkles but that's fun ☺️
My theory is that Disneyland works harder on making better food because it's such a locals park. At WDW, it's more touristy, so people are for sure going to have to buy food in the park no matter what. Disneyland has to make their food great because it's so easy to eat at home before us APs roll into the park!

Was the pan de muerto a bit orangey flavored? Traditional pan de muerto is made with an orange zest and orange flower water so it tastes kinda orengey, the design is to symbolize the bones of the dead and it's made during this time of year because of the day of the dead (it's usually put on altars but people eat it too) it's really good with some hot chocolate was really surprised to see this one was custard filled that sounds yummy
There's a bunch of places here in México that don't make it like with the orange flower water anymore and it ends up tasting sweeter so I guess that's what Disney is going for I just found out a couple of days ago about a café that is selling a matcha flavored one so it's kinda cool that there are some cool new flavor twists to it and not just the traditional flavor.
You should come to my house during Christmas and try my tamales. They are really good. I grew up in a Hispanic family and our Christmas tradition is having tamales for Christmas Eve. My Grandma taught me how to make it. For the tamale it depends on where in Mexico you go to because some places use a banana leaf while other parts use corn husks
