- Exciting day of fishing doesn't sum up what really happened! From a 300+ pound Marlin swimming behind the boat, to getting gaffed by my crew member and add a 1,000 pounds of fish on top of that seems pretty close to what happened! Just a typical day of fishing for us 😂🤣😂.

Just back from 2 weeks on Kauai. Unfortunately, the ENE wind blew mercilessly for the entire time! Turned down an offer to fish Ahi, mostly because of my bad spine doesn’t like rough seas anymore (after years of Charter Captain on the Great Lakes). It breaks my heart that my big water days are almost over at the tender young age of 73. Thanks to you Captain for your wonderful videos, it’s almost like I was there with you!
Nice to see the whole gang on the boat, thought Ry got tired of losing his hat..😁 You guys sure have a lot of laughs, great to watch.

🤭🤣 That was the worst knot I tied and it got filmed. 😂 we all joined the 70lb club by the end of the expo including Dave who was tying knots the size of my head after I got a 76.5 😂

"San Diego Jam". There's a billion videos out there. These are tied with the line doubled, which makes the wraps easy to cross.

Why do you gaff them now? Previously you just swung them over the rail. Fun times.
We would end up losing 3-5 a trip by flipping them. With gaffing we hardly lose them. Probably catch about 1k pounds more a year by gaffing them. 🤙

Double San Diego with 7 turns. It's what 90% of people who get on the board use. Some people call it the three tag knot.

Flipping them we would lose 3-5 fish a trip now at leader we maybe lose 1 a trip. Add that up over a year it’s easily an extra 1k pounds of fish 🤙
