    Howzit,liking your vids,great info too.This is Billy,always around the docks fishing for akule with my 3 dogs,also shout out to Nick for blessing me from time to time with some nice slabs.Those dive charters who do that in the middle of the harbor are idiots or driving out the left side to harass the honu sleeping on the rocks ignoring basic boating rules is out of control,they need to be given citations,Aloha

      Nice to meet you Billy. Come say hi sometime. How’s fishing for you ? Hope you been catching. As per dive boats Yup I agree the dive boats hire out of town kids to run their boats. They here a couple years then gone must have no idea what’s going on. Is what it is just drives you a little crazy when they do silly things like. All the best and thank you for watching and for the comments !! Appreciate ya

    Hi Chris,
    thanks for the vids, condolences and kind wishes to the Hawaiians who have been affected by the fires.
    Gods speed to them.
    Re content. One thing we like watching is the leadering of the large fish, any talk through of leadering techniques, hand wraps etc would be interesting. Leadering big fish is highly dangerous activity and Im in awe of some skilled guys. Thanks man.

    Thanks for the video Chris, Ive been a mate charter fishing on the east coast for two years. I quit my 9 to 5 to try fishing for a living. The end of the video hit home for me. I've had multiple opportunities on Blue Marlin and finally got my hands on one this year. There's no better feeling. Keep the videos coming.

      Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate the comment. As per current I don’t really have a favorite current I just have spots I favor on the current but basically any current that is pushing in a little is good. Consistent current more so is what I want to see. If I had to pick just one current though I guess north and in current just because there are alot of big fish spots that turn on with that. Good luck out there !! Catch um

    Interesting stuff I’m on the east coast of Australia. Keen on how you sharpen your hooks and talk about your seasons and how the were the fish are what bait they are eating and if you match the hatch. Talk about the types of lures and heads and why you use them and where. The set up on the dredge n teaser look interesting and how you work them. Tips on catching marlin on small and big boats. Speed. What to look for on your sounder and settings on sounder.
    Hope this helps with thinning of content.

    Hey Chris, thoughts are with you and the islands with the fires brother. One thing I’d be interested in seeing is your prep list and spares you keep on board. The prep and boat readiness are a huge part to fishing success IMO and although it’s not content bringing big fish boat side, I would find it really interesting. Thanks for the hard work you put in. Tight lines bro.

    Good morning, in this episode toward the end (after the hurricane) you discussed “finding the current” and how it seemed to be all over the place. What are you watching on the water or looking for to “find the current”? Can you please explain/elaborate a little? Is this unique to Hawaiian waters or trolling for pelagics in general? I’m in Guam and have been running a boat for a few weeks and would love to add a few tools to my toolbox, thanks!

    • @waterman241
      @waterman241  8 місяців тому +1

      No worries, Basically here in kona we have local currents that can stay at a certain direction for part of the coast. When the current is consistent all up and down an area then the bait gets stacked up in certain areas where as if the current is switching often. Like one direction for awhile then switches to another then fades off then moves around again. It makes it hard for the bait to congregate and it makes it hard for the fish to find them

    Hi Chris i really like ur video's. I got a question if you have to pull a spread in rough conditions what would it be?
    Regards Eddie

    • @waterman241
      @waterman241  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching Eddie, in the rough I would use a bunch of cup faced, scoop faced and flat faced lures. Bart blue breakfast or a bonze violator, a moms craft wide range or tantrum AMN, aloha lures sundowner and mongo and beauty would all be top choices and also aloha lures xl deep six. You could probably get away with some large bullets too depending on how rough. Hard to beat a tantrum large bullet or Koya 9+. Those are the style of lures I would recommend. You might also be able to get a plunger or even poi dog in the water but you would really need to mess around with positioning and if it got really rough they wouldn’t run right. You don’t want the lures jumping out of the water or skipping down the face. Good luck with it ! Hope that helps a little

      In quite some video's of you I see you catch marlin on a lure that has a light greenish colour. What colour is that if i may ask?

    Do you think you will ever get sonar on your little boat

    • @waterman241
      @waterman241  Рік тому

      I’m currently looking for an investor or a way to get one. Kona is fastly becoming a place where if you don’t have one you just almost better of sitting at the dock. I’ve had so many sonar boats steal fish from me this year it is mind boggling. I’ll be working an area by myself movwing the lawn tight on structure waiting for her to eat and they will see me inside and come in mark the one in there drive over it’s head and catch it. Very frustrating. Is what it is hopefully I can get one one on the benchmark
