100 mile ultra would be the next logical race distance
While I would love to see a nick symonds 100 miler, the next logical step is 50k, then 50mile, then 100k, then 100mile.
Marathon to 100miler is too big a jump, imo.

Chapter 5: What to do if your Gran eats your RunGum

Chapter 7: How Rungum can make your Run fun
Chapter 8 : How to win a packet of RunGum by beating an ex-olympian
Chapter 9: How to weave a web if you've ingested RunGum (spiders only)
Chapter 10: Troubleshooting your teeth with RunGum
Chapter 11: Guide to RunGum flavors

As of March 2020 Nick's time of 1:42.95 in the 800m Olympic Final is 35th best of all time. That's pretty impressive when you think about how many other runners there are in the world and considering how many races have been run.
I would love to see Nick Symmonds give the 3k steeple a shot 👀👀
To the top with this one
That was my first thought when he asked what other events he should do. Definitely would be a race to see.
this event basically hell in the sport of track & field lmfao
ooooh now that would be a fun one!!!
Steeple is very painful,i run only 2 races in high school national championship but 2K not 3K,my PB in 2K was 5'50'' and 7'20'' at steeple, really tough race
We want to see long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, hammer, javelin, discuss, 110m H , 400mH and pole vault too
We want to see every single Track & Field event that exists xD.

4:22 When ur 400 PB pace is better than your 200 PB pace
Nick probably could have gone 21.7 in his prime though.
@@timmytheinventor4746 No, WAY under 21 seconds, EASILY. That's not even a question. 25.6ish seconds per 200m 4 times in a row, come the hell on!
@@Bweyg Nah, I stand by that 21.7. Nick's aerobic compacity was super elite in 08-15, he could hold fast paces for a long time
@@timmytheinventor4746 His fastest 5k is 15:24 (I think), which is amazing, but his mile time is 3:56. He's clearly a way better middle to short distance runner than longer distance runner. Also his 400m is 47 seconds, that's 11.7 or so per 100m, definitely could have gone under 21 seconds.
@@Bweyg I don't think you understand; elite middle-distance runners have insane levels of aerobic capacity and VO2 max, even greater than distance runners. This allows them to hold a high pace for a long time. To be a great 200m runner you need to be very explosive and that wasn't really a factor in Nick's training during his two Olympic cicles
You're the only pro/ex-pro that I've seen try all distances and post times for all distances. This is wonderful!!! Try dabbling in field events. If you find you like them, try a decathlon.
How about the Coopertest? 12min Running and as Far as you can Go
So for prime Bekele that’d be just about 3 miles
2400m is the military must-pass, 3200m is the threshold for athletic so betting Nick can pass 4k here. That means 4 km at sub 3:00.
Kipchoge did 42 times 2:50 km in Austria, so maybe Nick can do 2:50 km's and hit 4200, running a 10% Kipchoge marathon.
@@barath4545 lol 4200m Cooper test ain't joke even for prime time Rudisha.

Damn that is some range. Imagine being such a versatile athlete. That's honestly incredible 👏👏
@Oh Wow True it's pretty slow but tbf he is old in athletics terms now. Look at his 400m pr though. He was running sub 24 seconds as splits to run 47.45. In his prime he could probably go sub 23 which is decent for an 800m specialist. Especially one with a sub 3.57 mile
@Oh Wow if he trained for a month he can do sub 23.8 easily
@Oh Wow ikr?
I would prefer to see you running 400m hurdles because it´s a distance that most middle and long distance runners tend to avoid. Besides speed, speed endurance and strength it requires very high qualities in flexibility, rhythm and technique. A lot of high level middle distance specialists have the first three components, but the last three components are often neglected in their daily routine. I would like to see an olympic caliber athlet try to do this.
Not an official event I don’t think, but I’ve always thought the elimination mile would be a cool event to do, maybe try that with some running friends!
I’m a fairly new runner, almost 67. I would have to skip over some chapters! You still inspire me.

@@Tschurikin absolutely not, it's another pace at all. In a sprint you can reach the max speed in 50-60 metres (but in a 400 you try to run with a "constant" speed that is slower). The fact is that now isn't trained like the past.
I always get nervous when I get into the block's, it's like I dont know.

@freEvo8 a 100miler is done 80% in your head, and 20% fysical. If you want it, you can do it!!
@freEvo8I know that I will not convince you, but I feel the need to react! What you write => that's your view, not mine! I never practice eating during training, I eat what I can eat and mostly if I want to eat it, it's good for me at that moment... open your eyes, and life will be easier for you! Mental part is for sure the most difficult one, because it interacts with all the other fysiological things, pain, hungry,... everything.
