Highlights from the 2024 MCAS Cherry Point Airshow in Havelock, NC. This show marked the final public demonstration of the USMC AV-8B Harrier II, the last show for civilian performer Hubie Tolson, and also the first airshow performance of a CH-53K King Stallion.

This was such a great show, minus the parking backup Saturday morning. The lineup was fantastic and the civilian acts were not too long like some shows. They kept things moving. I just wish they would have done a Harrier/F-35 flight and duel hover with the Harrier giving a nod to the F-35. Would have made for a great send off. Nevertheless, couldn’t have asked for a better day on Saturday. Thanks as always for capturing the weekend.
Agreed
It was a great show and there wasn’t any lull in the action! Non stop awesomeness all day
Was great to see some of the video crew down there! Great work as always.
Looking foward to full demo videos!
Me too!
Thankyou so much for posting this on UA-cam because it's fantastic & as much as i like the F-35 Lightning 2, I truly love the classic lines of the AV8 Harrier as she has served the Marine Corps Well.
The CH53 Stallion,
What a Helicopter & the Ever Impressive F18 Super Hornet.
Once again thankyou for this from myself in Australia as it is truly Awesome.
Well captured with so many Highlights.
Regards
Glad you were able to catch the show since thousands that try to see it never got the chance
Awesome! Are you going to NAS Pensacola for the Blue Angels Homecoming? Thunderbirds will be there with them!
Thinking about it! We'll see
The last AV-8B demo. After that traffic debacle on Saturday, I just watched from the grassy area near the park. Nice work.
Was attached to VMA-542 from 77-80, AV-8B. Awesome bird
VMA-542 didn't start operating the AV-8B until April of 1986.
I plan to take my soon to be born son here one day. Great show!
Das war einfach GRANDIOS
Nice
I was at the show as well. Couple questions I had that you may be able to answer:
1. Was the Raptor demo abbreviated? It seemed a little tame compared to some of the vids I've seen on your channel.
2. Where did the hornet come from? It did not take off from the main runway and I didn't hear it taking off from another runway. Did it come from another base?
Finally, I didn't realize how small the Reaper was until I saw it in person.
Depends what day you are asking about, the low clouds on Saturday limited some of the vertical maneuvers in demos but Sunday was a full show.
The Hornets staged out of Wilmington for the weekend, and the MAGTF Harriers were at New Bern.
@@AirshowStuffVideos I was there saturday...so that makes sense on some of the demo being limited. Thanks for the info on the staging. Also wondering, during the MAGTF when the jets are not visible, how far away from the base do they travel before flying back en route?
Nice montage! 😃👍
I was there😊
What kind of camera do you use?
The RJ Gritter Airshows Decathalon was my favourite. Great show low to the ground.
Someone once told me that Decathlons aren't intended for aerobatics - - until I pointed out that they were originally made by Citabria. Yeah, so what, they said - - So take the name, and mirror image it - what've you got? - Airbatic.
Indeed. American Champion Aircraft's Citabria, Scout, and Decathlons are great planes and a testament to good design.
Was that a Vision jet blowing smoke?
It's a SubSonex
@3:43 Why is a Cirrus Vision SF50 flying in an air show? Is it a military version?
Same reason a Pitts, a Yak, and a Decathlon were.
3:47 Is that a ramjet?
Marine Corps Aviation
Did that parachutist actually let the American flag just pile up on the ground?

I can't watch this
Dont know what you saw, I live 20 minutes from here and didn't go,only 2 warbirds, this was just a modern jet jokey show, just wasn't for me,glad others liked it
The two warbirds that you saw are P-51s flown by the renowned Horsemen Flight Demonstration Team, and besides flying the P-51, they've flown the F8F Bearcat, and the F-86 Sabre, as well. Another thing, this video was only showing the highlights from this show, so, they most likely had other warbirds in attendance as well.
The most intensely piercing sustained sound I ever heard in my life was a Harrier hovering nearby.
The one in this video didn't sound anything as bad.
I was there Sunday. It was all fantastic. The F-22 Raptor did things that defy my understanding of aviation. And to think the pilot probably only demonstrated about 25% of its capabilities 😮
I really enjoyed the airshow Saturday! It was my third time at Cherry Point....so glad I could see the final Harrier demo. My daughter and I were sitting right behind you guys and appreciate the stickers :-) I would have brought my young son, but the noise would have been a bit overwhelming. He watches your channel ALL the time though😉 Keep up the great work!
Great to meet you, thanks for watching and for saying hi!!
Great Work
Sad to see the end of an era for the Harrier Demos. Hopefully it was the last act before the Blues.
Hats off to the pilots 👍
Awesome video guys!
