I'm with Pete on ripping pounders - no thanks! Slow rolling, wide rod sweeps - I can do that. :D

We’re in the same boat Pete! Maybe an hour or two, and I’m done!

I live in Ontario where people drop gill nets without any type of restrictions yet we’re having a debate about panoptix yea okay I’ll keep it and my Navionics and catch more fish that’s what this is all about

My concern is that forward facing sonar (FFS) could put more strain on apex predators on already pressured waters. It's probably not as big of deal for species that are more plentiful like perch and crappies, but I wonder about the impact for species that are less numerous. I'm not sure what body of water you're on, but you're fortunate to be in a province with not a lot of people. I think the calculation for potential harm to muskie populations from FFS is different in the United States because of the number of anglers we have.

Lol can’t apply ethics on people who use sonars to catch fish when here in nipissing there’s unregulated netting and the walleye limits at 2 per angler! If people want jaw Jack a couple extra fish per season and throw them back it’s perfectly clean as far as I am concerned

They should ban from bass and musky tourneys . They ban performance enhancing items from most major sports.

That’s an interesting argument. Forward facing sonar is definitely performance enhancing.

Not much/basically no talk about live sonar? Only mapping?

Too many people musky fishing these days because of UA-cam and Facebook. Humans ruin everything.

I support the controversial position of population control, but only for bodies of water.

My thoughts it should be banned. When ever something was too good it was banned for sport fishing like Nets and shocking and explosives and fish traps. All for good reason

I’ve got mixed feelings about it. It’s an incredibly powerful tool, but maybe too powerful for targeting top of the food chain predators. One thing’s for sure, a strong catch and release ethic is more important than ever with this technology.
