I agree with "Rising Storm", but "Fire & Ice" introduces A LOT of important characters: the whole of WindClan, Princess and Cloudtail, Cinderpelt and Brackenfur, Silverstream. It would be hard to stuff all of it in another book.
yes, exactly! when i first read the warriors series many years ago, i read into the wild and forest of secrets, but not fire and ice (it wasnt at my library 😭) - the whole time i kept feeling like i was missing out on a big chunk of story and was confused where some things came from :'33 even when i did eventually get around to reading fire&ice it still was interesting despite already knowing how the story progressed in the 3rd book lol
yeah! i would get rid of dangerous path bc i think it would be more dramatic if bluestar died in the last book instead of dangerous path, and you could shove a lot of the lore into darkest hour bc by the little i remember it was mainly just bloodclan and preparing, it could be that bluestar dies and the clans are like "firestar wont lead us into battle correctly!' and then firestar actually succeeds bc plot- i think that could work a lot better, rising storm is literally just a fire, add that to forest of secrets or just give another reason for yellowfangs death

Crookedstar's Promise is messy, but I think it works. The pacing (going agonizingly slow during his moons as a kit and an apprentice, but hitting the ground running once he starts rising the ranks), really does a lot to help us sympathize with his emotions. Also, this is by far the best Mapleshade appearance. This is my personal favorite Super Edition. Meanwhile, I feel like Tallstar's Revenge is overrated. It completely abandons the "harsh father trope" when Sandgorse died, and we don't see the transition from Talltail not murdering an innocent cat to him becoming deputy offscreen! Tallstar deserved so much better. (I really love Heatherstar and TallxJake, though.)

For instance, this book does have a lot of relationships, but I don't really think it feels crowded, as they play off each other well. You get why Crookedkit was first drawn to Mapleshade because Rainflower made him feel worthless. This also compels him to leave and find the Moonstone to better contact StarClan (where he thinks Mapleshade resides) which leads him to meet the barn cats, who are awed by him and make him feel better about himself. I could go on and on, but the point is that this book is amazing, one of the best of Warriors. PS: I realize that you probably weren't expecting a freakishly long answer like this, but I hope this helps you better understand my love of this book.
I completely agree. I actually couldn't get through Tallstar's book and... I have no clue why. I think I just like his character more in the original series, and he kinda felt a bit out of character in his Super Edition to me. I get that it's not like Tallstar was born as well... Tallstar lol, but he made a lot of really out of character decisions to make that book work. I think because the Tall Jake ship is so big, it really is a bit overrated. I love gay cats just as much as everyone else does, but that doesn't mean that the book should be praised more because of it 😅. I really do need to finish it, but it's kinda low on my priority while I catch up on some of the other books in the series. As for Crookedstar, he's such an interesting character in the first series, and we get to know very little about him. His book had me so invested based on that alone. I also actually really enjoyed the start of the book, where it is slow and takes time to really dig into his time as a kit. It's been awhile since I've read it, but I think it still holds up as my favorite super edition because it really takes its time to build up Crookedstar as more of a character and at the time was one of the first few rare glimpses of a river clan story that we got too!

At first we are introduced to Sandgorse as a father fixed on his son following his pawsteps as a tunneler to an unhealthy degree. I actually got invested in this, as cats around him started to point out to Tallpaw that he should be the cat he is instead of the cat his father is. Things go south, however, when Sandgorse dies, and Tallpaw makes a complete character 180 suddenly suspecting a cat who had reached out to him during his time of need of leaving his father to die in the tunnels. Then he goes on an admittedly rather dull adventure to KILL said cat as "revenge". The TallxJake ship is cute but overrated and once Jake helps him change his mind and he goes back to WindClan to be accepted by Heatherstar, we barely get any time with him before we fast forward to his leader ceremony! We don't get to see Talltail work to be accepted back to his Clan and become a good leader, we just have to take the Erins' word for it that he's a good leader now. We see no deputy ceremony, we only hear passively about Heatherstar losing her last life, Tallstar's just leader now. There is a difference between not being a vengeful murderous cat and being a good leader. On a positive note, though, I like WindClan's civil war between Moor Runners and Tunnels. That's about it. Oh, and sorry that these replies are just getting longer and longer.
@professionalcatperson2177 Those are my thoughts exactly!! I loved the start of Tallstar's revenge and got really invested in the moor runner and tunneler stuff. Especially with that being one of the most notable things about Wind clan (and how it kinda plays out in later series with tunnelers seemingly ceasing to exist later on or the two roles combining into windclan warriors kinda just doing both things). I also liked Tallstar and his mom's dynamic too. But it really fell apart when he decided he wanted to murder someone. It felt really unnecessary when a better reason for him leaving would have been him feeling like he was under too much pressure to be both a moor runner and tunneler in his clan and the constant fighting with his dad's death was the reason for him leaving. Queue Jake coming in and liking him for who he is or something and not pressuring him into being one thing or the other, teaching Talltail some good morals and life lessons, ect. I kinda stopped reading a little after Jake was introduced and they started traveling together, which is a shame cause I really like Jake as a character but I just had a hard time with Talltail 😅
I can’t believe you cut Crookedstar promise. It shows information about how side characters can actually be interesting , trials and overcoming them, dealing with grief, and all sorts of emotion. I get how we have different opinions though so whatever

No, it makes sense. Mapleshade's more manipulative form makes sense to her novella personality. It also gives us this sort of precursor to the dark forest manipulation
I agree with the last three vision of shadows book being deleted I think it would have been really interesting if the whole vision of shadows was just an entire arc to defeat dark tail instead of just three books
It's a real shame the latter half of AVoS was so poor, because I really like the idea of the main threat of an arc being beaten halfway through, and the rest of the arc is dealing with the consequences of the first half.
That's an interesting take! I would agree if it wasn't for the fandom being so obsessed about her, I'd imagine we wouldn't have as many animated projects if her backstory wasn't revealed as much, especially that the novella is unique in a way that it's the only one with an unreliable narrator from start to finish
I think if ASC would stay only River so far matters, it introduces the protagonists, and has a lot of important plot points, Sky is a traveling book and nothing really happens in Shadow, besides Squilf announcing she’ll be leader, which will happen in Thunder, also justice for Crookedstar he didn’t deserve that 😭
good excercise, i imagine for a tv show or movie producers would have to think about what content to keep and which to ditch but also keeping bramblestar's storm is unforgivable literally the book that made me quit the series with how infuriating it is - id swap it in for crookedstar's promise

I mosty agree with your choises, but I'd cut A Shadow in RiverClan and keep Exile From ShadowClan. Feathertail isn't really that big of a character, and since you're cutting Blackfoot and Yellowfang's books, I think the information on Brokenstar that Exile provides is essential
Poor Dawn of the Clans... 😭 But as much as I like it, I do have to admit that it's by far the easiest to skip. I honestly would've deleted Redtail's Dept because of how badly it butchers Ravenpaw and the continuity of Oakheart's death lol. Also would've probably traded Graystripe's Vow to Crookedstar's Promise. I hate Greystripe's Vow so much lol (it'd be way better if it didn't have any of the past chapters but alas). Or alternatively, delete Bluestar's Prophecy and keep Crookedstar's Promise. Bluestar's Prophecy was also just threading a lot of stuff we already knew and ultimately hurt Bluestar's character, I think. With the context of her SE, she just comes off as a mentally frail cat who is a ticking time bomb and that her mental breakdown was inevitable, even if Tigerclaw hadn't betrayed her. Looking at her in the book, I have no idea why Sunstar thought she and Thistleclaw were the only candidates for deputy. I feel like they were in fact the worst choices lmao
The problem with the field guides is their extremely outdated now. Sure their great for the first few series but now there’s like 3 more that they just don’t cover at all.
I, personally, wouldn't delete Crookedstar's Promise and I'd keep it. I deleted Mapleshade's Vengeance 'cause of my headcanon where Mapleshade lied about being denied a place in RiverClan (she would've gotten sent away of the kits survived, in addition to if she wasn't half-drowned), 'cause I want to take advantage of her being an unreliable narrator. I also added that she says she was a rogue/loner because even though she had the title of a warrior, she didn't feel like a Clan cat at all due to Appledusk rejecting her, and also remembering how she was very weak yet very aggressive as a kit, and everything else played out the same, except for the killing of Ravenwing and Frecklewish she was escaping RiverClan territory when she wasn't supposed to leave camp without another cat. Also, there's me making all these headcanons for Rainflower and how her being incapable of love lead to her rejecting Crookedkit (in that fanfic, I'll also include the headcanon that she reluctantly let Brambleberry adopt him as her own, but did not say anything else about it)

I find it hilarious that you tossed Rising Storm. Back when I was reading the first arc, the library didn't have Rising Storm available, so I read A Dangerous Path before it, and you are right, I didn't miss anything significant.
I think I did the same thing now that I think about it. Also, this is a weird coincidence but I lost my copy of Rising Storm. Not any other books in warrior cats, specifically Rising Storm, which mysteriously disappeared around 3 years ago. One of these days I should probably buy a new one.
I would say, sacrifice other books and keep the whole of the prophecy’s begin. Atleast kick out another book in another series and keep fire and ice ! It’s got too much significance even to just kick out one book.
Hm, I would have kept Spottedleaf's heart. It is one of the books that kept in SERIOUS real-life topics. It shows that there are actually real bad people in this world other than some 'WeLL I kIlLeD aN eNtIrE cLan' sort of thing. It shows that there are gr00mers and child predators. It is a serious topic that should be discussed, even briefly, and it showing in a book is a pretty big thing. But, love you queen! Have a wonderful day!

Blackfoot's Reckoning is underrated imo. Not one of the best but not one of the worst either. Onestar's confession is okay in the beginning, but onestar didn't redeem himself well enough and it makes the reader feel like a villain just got sent to starclan even though he didn't deserve it, which is where it falls apart. Especially the fact that Whitetail just forgives him after he blatantly lies to her for years. Haven't even read Spottedleaf's Heart but I hear people hate it, and Leopardstar's Honor would be good if it didn't go against the canon from the first arc where Leopardstar is clearly reluctant to work with Firestar.
Blackstar has been my favorite character for a long time, and I actually really like Blackfoot's Reckoning, it adds so much important stuff to his character, which is great, because he's the best. It fits well with his character in the rest of the series, and I love a good redemption story -- which is something he needed, since he's actually a really good person after the first arc
Lol, I haven't read anything from this series for YEARS. All I remember is that I loved Dawn of the Clans, so. . . . And cutting Crowfeather's trial and Crookedstar's Promise should be criminal.

i half agree with the deletion of rising storm, cuz like, it would save a lot of people crying so much they would be dehydrated, but like, what would they do with yellowfang's death? she's just gone, randomly? like they do that with background characters and no one cares but she's pretty important.
Honestly i think that dawn of the clans is my favorite arc. Like its not the best but I think that it was really good and I loved seeing the beginning of the clans. But with that being said, it does provide the least, so I agree with cutting it
I hated Pinestar. He left his clan to join the kittypet life while they were trying to fight RiverClan, left his on son, Tigerkit, causing him to want to be a leader, then he wants to rule the clans. He hates Firepaw bc he was born as a kittypet, and Pinestar had became a kittypet, making firestar more hated by Tigerstar. And he knew that firepaw knew his plans to get rid of Ravenpaw bc he saw Tigerstar kill Redtail and feared he would tell someone. It's all bc of Pinestar leaving to be a kittypet just bc he didn't want to die yet
As much I like the last two books of Broken Code, I would have deleted the The Place of no Stars. The reason is simple : it's one storyline seperated in two different books (I mean, from the moment they enter the Dark Forest to 70% of the Light in the Mist, it's just a huge long final battle).
Wait what?! You think that Firestar's quest is a more important super edition than Crookedstar's Promise?! And what?! Bramblebutt's trash super edition over Crowfeather's trial?! It's the best book!
Skyclan is very relevant to the plot nowadays, so you do need to keep the book that introduces it. But I do want space for Crookedstar's Promise, so let's delete the Bluestar super edition instead.

My own take on this idea: 1)Main series As a big fan of dawn of the clans, I'd love to keep some of them, but it doesn't directly affect the plot of the other arcs, they can be read without it. However...considering that a starless clan is deleted in your version, you might as well do that for vision of shadows too. The problem is that I enjoy the first half of a vision of shadows more than any 3 books for dawn of the clans(although I prefer arc 5 overall). So I'll do the same thing as you. Then, I'm going to delete the same books for arc 1 as you. For the New Prophecy, you make a good argument for Twilight being necessary plotwise, so even tho I hate that book, I'll keep it. On a sidenote, I'd argue that Dawn is the single most important book of the arc and also by far the best. For Power of three, I choose to delete Eclipse instead of Dark River. Sol and the big battle are ultimately both kind of irrelevant, so we don't need Eclipse. The thing I'm most sad about losing is Cinderpaw's subplot where she learns to swim. Dark River has important character moments and is far more enjoyable to me. For Omen of the Stars, I'll delete Night Whispers instead of the fourth apprentice. We don't need Flametail's pov and while the journey in the fourth apprentice might be pointless, the introduction of dovepaw should be kept. 2)Super Editions I haven't read half of them, but I'll trust you when you say that the tigerheart, hawkwing, squirrelflight and graystripe's ones are worth keeping. I would rather keep Crookedstar's promise than Bluestar's prophecy, I think it's significantly better in every way. It talks mostly about new stuff, it doesn't retcon a bunch of characters and it has strong and interesting relationships(not just the positive relationships, but also the negative ones like Rainflower and Crookedstar's relationship). I hated Bramblestar's storm so I think I'll keep Mothflight's vision instead; I'm just going to ignore the absence of dawn of the clans. I'm going to stop here because I have read almost nothing in the other categories, so that would be pointless.

Ima say it. Hollyleaf is overrated and I don’t get how a lot of people like her. In one book she is obsessed with rules, then she has no problem breaking them if it’s her doing it. The Holley leaf in forgotten warrior is like “I couldn’t handle the stress, let me move in the shadows feeling bad for myself, Whoa is me, my brothers handling years of this treatment because of me doesn’t matter” like honestly Dovewing is miles ahead of her
I wouldn't say she has no problem breaking the rules. Whenever she does, she feels extremely bad but tells herself it's for the greater good. Going to Riverclan's territory in Dark River in the hope of stopping a war, going to Shadowclan's territory to convince Blackstar to like Starclan again, killing Ashfur to protect her clan's reputation(...and her own ambitions). I'm not denying that they are some inconsistencies in the way she's written, but your criticism is weak. And Hollyleaf feels horrible about what her brothers had to endure because of her actions, where did you get the idea that it doesn't matter to her? It's one of the reasons she didn't want to return: she though it would only make the situation worse for them.

Im Kinda sad you Couldn’t keep Exile From ShadowClan because I had actually stopped reading the books at book 3 of The Prophecies Begin, and when I was reading I found the Book and Read it, and then I wanted to start Reading the Books, Playing the Game on Roblox, and Talking about it With my Friends. So, Yeah, Thanks to Exile From ShadowClan, I’m now more into Warriors than I’ve ever been!
Akira on Light in the Mist: I hate this book but it's important. Me on Light in the Mist: Important stuff happens but this is the worst arc and I couldn't bring myself not to delete all of them.
I really liked Blackstar's novella and when you said that you hate it i was like 'wAiT wHaT diD yOu sAy' XDD I would delete Leafpool's Wish, because the whole book is only kits, kits and kits. Nevermind, your choice :D
It's cut because it's less connected to the other series. If a whole arc was cut (besides ASC since it is the most recent) the next arc would not stand without it, because it relies on context. Overall DoTC was one of the better arcs imo, but I understand why she cut it.
I know it's controversial, but I really like the second half of AVoS. Darkest Night isn't the best, but I really like all the politics and the fact that the threat they have to face at the very end of the arc is a storm. It says a lot about how much the Clans have grown when they can resolve the end of an arc without a battle! Plus, I LOVE Tree. His relationship with Violetshine is one of my favorites in the whole series
I feel like Hawkfrost is the most cliche and annoying villain in the series. The others all had deeper motivations and reasoning to become the way they were, but Hawkfrost just slowly descended into madness, even though he had the support of his Clan and Mothwing. Not that he was even nice to start out with.

I am highly offended that you deleted the entirety of Dawn of the Clans as a few of my favorite characters come from there (or at least prominent characters in my mind that deserved more than what they got) also dawn of the clans is my favorite arc despite the lack of she-cat characterization

FR! Crookedstar's Promise is by far one of my favorite super editions, it's so much more emotional than other books are.

I think its going to be strange to keep Mapleshade's Vengence but trash Crookedstar'promise, where we see her in a manipulative form, but maybe its just my love for crookedstars promise speaking from me.
No, it makes sense. Mapleshade's more manipulative form makes sense to her novella personality. It also gives us this sort of precursor to the dark forest manipulation
I agree with the last three vision of shadows book being deleted I think it would have been really interesting if the whole vision of shadows was just an entire arc to defeat dark tail instead of just three books
It's a real shame the latter half of AVoS was so poor, because I really like the idea of the main threat of an arc being beaten halfway through, and the rest of the arc is dealing with the consequences of the first half.

That's an interesting take! I would agree if it wasn't for the fandom being so obsessed about her, I'd imagine we wouldn't have as many animated projects if her backstory wasn't revealed as much, especially that the novella is unique in a way that it's the only one with an unreliable narrator from start to finish

I think if ASC would stay only River so far matters, it introduces the protagonists, and has a lot of important plot points, Sky is a traveling book and nothing really happens in Shadow, besides Squilf announcing she’ll be leader, which will happen in Thunder, also justice for Crookedstar he didn’t deserve that 😭

I mosty agree with your choises, but I'd cut A Shadow in RiverClan and keep Exile From ShadowClan. Feathertail isn't really that big of a character, and since you're cutting Blackfoot and Yellowfang's books, I think the information on Brokenstar that Exile provides is essential

I honestly would've deleted Redtail's Dept because of how badly it butchers Ravenpaw and the continuity of Oakheart's death lol.
Also would've probably traded Graystripe's Vow to Crookedstar's Promise. I hate Greystripe's Vow so much lol (it'd be way better if it didn't have any of the past chapters but alas). Or alternatively, delete Bluestar's Prophecy and keep Crookedstar's Promise. Bluestar's Prophecy was also just threading a lot of stuff we already knew and ultimately hurt Bluestar's character, I think. With the context of her SE, she just comes off as a mentally frail cat who is a ticking time bomb and that her mental breakdown was inevitable, even if Tigerclaw hadn't betrayed her. Looking at her in the book, I have no idea why Sunstar thought she and Thistleclaw were the only candidates for deputy. I feel like they were in fact the worst choices lmao

I, personally, wouldn't delete Crookedstar's Promise and I'd keep it. I deleted Mapleshade's Vengeance 'cause of my headcanon where Mapleshade lied about being denied a place in RiverClan (she would've gotten sent away of the kits survived, in addition to if she wasn't half-drowned), 'cause I want to take advantage of her being an unreliable narrator. I also added that she says she was a rogue/loner because even though she had the title of a warrior, she didn't feel like a Clan cat at all due to Appledusk rejecting her, and also remembering how she was very weak yet very aggressive as a kit, and everything else played out the same, except for the killing of Ravenwing and Frecklewish she was escaping RiverClan territory when she wasn't supposed to leave camp without another cat. Also, there's me making all these headcanons for Rainflower and how her being incapable of love lead to her rejecting Crookedkit (in that fanfic, I'll also include the headcanon that she reluctantly let Brambleberry adopt him as her own, but did not say anything else about it)

I find it hilarious that you tossed Rising Storm. Back when I was reading the first arc, the library didn't have Rising Storm available, so I read A Dangerous Path before it, and you are right, I didn't miss anything significant.
I think I did the same thing now that I think about it. Also, this is a weird coincidence but I lost my copy of Rising Storm. Not any other books in warrior cats, specifically Rising Storm, which mysteriously disappeared around 3 years ago. One of these days I should probably buy a new one.

It shows that there are actually real bad people in this world other than some 'WeLL I kIlLeD aN eNtIrE cLan' sort of thing. It shows that there are gr00mers and child predators. Blackfoot's Reckoning is underrated imo. Not one of the best but not one of the worst either. Onestar's confession is okay in the beginning, but onestar didn't redeem himself well enough and it makes the reader feel like a villain just got sent to starclan even though he didn't deserve it, which is where it falls apart. Especially the fact that Whitetail just forgives him after he blatantly lies to her for years.
Haven't even read Spottedleaf's Heart but I hear people hate it, and Leopardstar's Honor would be good if it didn't go against the canon from the first arc where Leopardstar is clearly reluctant to work with Firestar.
Blackstar has been my favorite character for a long time, and I actually really like Blackfoot's Reckoning, it adds so much important stuff to his character, which is great, because he's the best. It fits well with his character in the rest of the series, and I love a good redemption story -- which is something he needed, since he's actually a really good person after the first arc

I hated Pinestar. He left his clan to join the kittypet life while they were trying to fight RiverClan, left his on son, Tigerkit, causing him to want to be a leader, then he wants to rule the clans. He hates Firepaw bc he was born as a kittypet, and Pinestar had became a kittypet, making firestar more hated by Tigerstar. And he knew that firepaw knew his plans to get rid of Ravenpaw bc he saw Tigerstar kill Redtail and feared he would tell someone. It's all bc of Pinestar leaving to be a kittypet just bc he didn't want to die yet

As much I like the last two books of Broken Code, I would have deleted the The Place of no Stars. The reason is simple : it's one storyline seperated in two different books (I mean, from the moment they enter the Dark Forest to 70% of the Light in the Mist, it's just a huge long final battle).

Exile from shadowclan was the first warriors book I read so it has a special place in my heart
Rising storm meh it was boring but mothwing’s secret was amazing as well as pebbleshine’s kits but thunderstar’s echo was ABSOLUTELY NOT necessary skyclan destiny was so AMAZING I loved it yeah (I know I am the only one who love it)
My own take on this idea:
1)Main series
As a big fan of dawn of the clans, I'd love to keep some of them, but it doesn't directly affect the plot of the other arcs, they can be read without it. However...considering that a starless clan is deleted in your version, you might as well do that for vision of shadows too. The problem is that I enjoy the first half of a vision of shadows more than any 3 books for dawn of the clans(although I prefer arc 5 overall). So I'll do the same thing as you. Then, I'm going to delete the same books for arc 1 as you. For the New Prophecy, you make a good argument for Twilight being necessary plotwise, so even tho I hate that book, I'll keep it. On a sidenote, I'd argue that Dawn is the single most important book of the arc and also by far the best. For Power of three, I choose to delete Eclipse instead of Dark River. Sol and the big battle are ultimately both kind of irrelevant, so we don't need Eclipse. The thing I'm most sad about losing is Cinderpaw's subplot where she learns to swim. Dark River has important character moments and is far more enjoyable to me. For Omen of the Stars, I'll delete Night Whispers instead of the fourth apprentice. We don't need Flametail's pov and while the journey in the fourth apprentice might be pointless, the introduction of dovepaw should be kept.
2)Super Editions
I haven't read half of them, but I'll trust you when you say that the tigerheart, hawkwing, squirrelflight and graystripe's ones are worth keeping. I would rather keep Crookedstar's promise than Bluestar's prophecy, I think it's significantly better in every way. It talks mostly about new stuff, it doesn't retcon a bunch of characters and it has strong and interesting relationships(not just the positive relationships, but also the negative ones like Rainflower and Crookedstar's relationship). I hated Bramblestar's storm so I think I'll keep Mothflight's vision instead; I'm just going to ignore the absence of dawn of the clans.
I'm going to stop here because I have read almost nothing in the other categories, so that would be pointless.

Ima say it. Hollyleaf is overrated and I don’t get how a lot of people like her. In one book she is obsessed with rules, then she has no problem breaking them if it’s her doing it. The Holley leaf in forgotten warrior is like “I couldn’t handle the stress, let me move in the shadows feeling bad for myself, Whoa is me, my brothers handling years of this treatment because of me doesn’t matter” like honestly Dovewing is miles ahead of her
I wouldn't say she has no problem breaking the rules. Whenever she does, she feels extremely bad but tells herself it's for the greater good. Going to Riverclan's territory in Dark River in the hope of stopping a war, going to Shadowclan's territory to convince Blackstar to like Starclan again, killing Ashfur to protect her clan's reputation(...and her own ambitions). I'm not denying that they are some inconsistencies in the way she's written, but your criticism is weak.
And Hollyleaf feels horrible about what her brothers had to endure because of her actions, where did you get the idea that it doesn't matter to her? It's one of the reasons she didn't want to return: she though it would only make the situation worse for them.

Im Kinda sad you Couldn’t keep Exile From ShadowClan because I had actually stopped reading the books at book 3 of The Prophecies Begin, and when I was reading I found the Book and Read it, and then I wanted to start Reading the Books, Playing the Game on Roblox, and Talking about it With my Friends. So, Yeah, Thanks to Exile From ShadowClan, I’m now more into Warriors than I’ve ever been!

It's cut because it's less connected to the other series. If a whole arc was cut (besides ASC since it is the most recent) the next arc would not stand without it, because it relies on context. Overall DoTC was one of the better arcs imo, but I understand why she cut it.
My favorite Super Editions are Firestar's Quest and Crowfeather's Trial, so I guess I don't agree with you completely in the Super Editions

I know it's controversial, but I really like the second half of AVoS. Darkest Night isn't the best, but I really like all the politics and the fact that the threat they have to face at the very end of the arc is a storm. It says a lot about how much the Clans have grown when they can resolve the end of an arc without a battle! Plus, I LOVE Tree. His relationship with Violetshine is one of my favorites in the whole series
Tigerstar and Hawkfrost being two out of three of my favorite characters (three is Jayfeather🤩) I will be very sad today 😉
I feel like Hawkfrost is the most cliche and annoying villain in the series. The others all had deeper motivations and reasoning to become the way they were, but Hawkfrost just slowly descended into madness, even though he had the support of his Clan and Mothwing. Not that he was even nice to start out with.
