I wish this video would have published back then when I started self preparation. I spent more time wandering around and seeking guidance than focusing on my strengths and weaknesses. I covered almost the same journey as you mentioned, ma'am. Figured out things and established many guidelines for myself, now things are getting shaped and aligning with the goals in this year. Shweta di, the first 2:30 minutes of this video where you talk about your failure to get into SRCC being a very important factor in your decision to do an MBA is SO RELATABLE. I too messed up my 12th, am currently in my final year of engineering and consider doing an MBA from a top B-school as a final chance to redeem myself and prove a point. However, I am going to work for a couple of years before giving CAT again in 2024 (gave an attempt in 2022 with less prep just to gauge the exam), so hopefully the workex will give me better reasons to do MBA rather than just proving a point!!

If you have money and no constraints, IIM Ahmedabad will always be the right choice. Any MBA aspirant should be leaning towards IIM ABC wrt FMS. Rest all the IIMs one can can skip for FMS. Then FMS is a lottery, you save lot of money. However the weight of brand, transformation of personality, value addition, learning...and so on ...IIM A is always a winner. IIM B too is almost as tall.

Thank you so much 🙏😊 You can surely take the exam. If your marksheet shows absent, it would be no issue at all. And if the marks are shown as zero, then also it can be compensated by other things like college marks/work experience.

Hey! I wanted to talk about my situation which is a bit unique.. So I have a masters in English from DU (high five ;)) So I completed my pg in 2021 August.. After that I went on to prepare for ugc net as I wanted to become Assistant professor.. I cleared net in feb of 2022 ( lots of delays in exam due to covid) However I realized after clearing net that it's quite difficult to get a decent job as assistant professor.. As they ask for phd and even after phd life in academia.. So I explored in my field thoroughly last year only to be disappointed later.. So several job rejections in academia was an eye opener and this I decided to change my direction.. As I don't wish to end up in low paying position with constant job insecurity.. So finally in dec 2022 I decided to prepare for cat.. Right now I'm taking coaching for it as well.. However one thing that bothers me is the gap that has been created in my cv. I already have a gap of one year (I.e 2022).. So can you suggest how should I utilize this year to not create one more gap.. And since I'm preparing for some other competitive exams as well simultaneously so going for any job rn would be tricky.. So what do you suggest? 🙈
I have completed my graduation and for further studies i am confused between msc and mba but i want to work in Pharma industry but for girls the growth is very slow in it
@@shrutimandloi8575 it's totally your call. Both fields have advantages n disadvantages. However I'd Doing MSc usually brings along more uncertainty as you'd also have to go for a PhD most likely.. To get to a good position.. Mba on the other hand is a costlier course but I guess it does provide you with more certainty and prospect as compared to msc. This is just my opinion. Good luck🍀

I have completed my graduation from distance learning and working at a MNC right now. Would this affect my profile by any chance? 2. Could you also make videos on each section of CAT? (how to attempt or prepare for them) 3. Any coaching institute suitable for working professionals?
@pulkit - a lot of people face this issue. In the beginning of your prep, it's alright to not have a timer. But, as you practice more, you'll pick up the tricks on the way and then it won't take as long. The panic gets avoided in the last stage of prep when you're taking mocks - at that time, doing every question isn't important, picking the right ones is important. So, the timer doesn't bug you for every question, it only bugs in batches e.g. first 10 mins, am I done with at least going through all the questions? This may be slightly difficult to understand if you're not a repeater. So, it's better to not time the questions right now. Even if you're repeating, it's best to not time the questions until you're facing a full length mock.

If you have money and no constraints, IIM Ahmedabad will always be the right choice. Any MBA aspirant should be leaning towards IIM ABC wrt FMS. Rest all the IIMs one can can skip for FMS. Then FMS is a lottery, you save lot of money. However the weight of brand, transformation of personality, value addition, learning...and so on ...IIM A is always a winner. IIM B too is almost as tall.

My 12th marks has been lower than avg since i didn't write the exam ( didn't take place) i am from NIOS. I really want to pursue MBA , so will it be possible for me to take CAT exam. You can surely take the exam.
If your marksheet shows absent, it would be no issue at all.
And if the marks are shown as zero, then also it can be compensated by other things like college marks/work experience.

I wanted to talk about my situation which is a bit unique..
So I have a masters in English from DU (high five ;))
So I completed my pg in 2021 August.. After that I went on to prepare for ugc net as I wanted to become Assistant professor..
I cleared net in feb of 2022 ( lots of delays in exam due to covid)
However I realized after clearing net that it's quite difficult to get a decent job as assistant professor.. As they ask for phd and even after phd life in academia..
So I explored in my field thoroughly last year only to be disappointed later..
So several job rejections in academia was an eye opener and this I decided to change my direction.. As I don't wish to end up in low paying position with constant job insecurity..
So finally in dec 2022 I decided to prepare for cat.. Right now I'm taking coaching for it as well..
However one thing that bothers me is the gap that has been created in my cv. I already have a gap of one year (I.e 2022)..
So can you suggest how should I utilize this year to not create one more gap..
And since I'm preparing for some other competitive exams as well simultaneously so going for any job rn would be tricky..
So what do you suggest? 🙈

@@shrutimandloi8575 it's totally your call. Both fields have advantages n disadvantages. However I'd Doing MSc usually brings along more uncertainty as you'd also have to go for a PhD most likely.. To get to a good position..
Mba on the other hand is a costlier course but I guess it does provide you with more certainty and prospect as compared to msc. This is just my opinion.

Hi Shweta, I wanted to know how not to panic under time. I know the concepts of the question, but i just go blank when solving them under a timer.

@pulkit - a lot of people face this issue. In the beginning of your prep, it's alright to not have a timer. But, as you practice more, you'll pick up the tricks on the way and then it won't take as long. The panic gets avoided in the last stage of prep when you're taking mocks - at that time, doing every question isn't important, picking the right ones is important. So, the timer doesn't bug you for every question, it only bugs in batches e.g. first 10 mins, am I done with at least going through all the questions? This may be slightly difficult to understand if you're not a repeater. So, it's better to not time the questions right now. Even if you're repeating, it's best to not time the questions until you're facing a full length mock.
