    This is a much higher level than I was expecting. I watch a lot of junior/college tennis on youtube when watching the pro matches doesn't quite quench my tennis itch, and this is higher level than most junior girls matches I've seen, even in similarly big tournaments. Both can dictate as well as defend off both wings, move well, have good rally tolerance when stretched wide, some nice ball striking. Just good tennis.

      A girl who lives in a town over from me is going to Stanford on a full scholarship to play tennis. She is a senior. She lost 6-0 6-0 to the winner in the video and the winner in the video is in 9th grade. So many commenters here know nothing about tennis.

    What a marathon for Liv. Nine matches in 8 days, 3 qualifying then 6 main draw. I know Ronnie Hohmann pulled it off two years ago for the boys but it's so rare to see this in the EB.

    • @mskcrc
      @mskcrc 3 роки тому +49

      I guess it's sad, but it's just a sign of how powerful the baseline is. How do you approach the net when players are good enough to rip one down either lane?

      Liam, they are blue chips and you are a 3 star. If you mean why they do not do an ATP style forehand I agree with you. It clearly creates more racquet speed and does not take any strength. The only thing is the wrist lays back much farther then can be done statically and I really worry about young kids learning that stroke. But it does crack me up that the WTA does everything the ATP does except the forehand.

    • @imateapot51
      @imateapot51 3 роки тому +4

      @Gabrielle Brideau I am curious what technique you hit with on the forehand. I hit with an ATP forehand, used to hit with an Agassi style forehand, before that a classic forehand that nobody did except McEnroe. I evolve and wonder when women are going evolve also.
