I forgot about that 2002 Wimbledon final, Venus conceding the point after let was called. I was a little upset because I’ve always slightly favored Venus and she should have won at least 1-2 of those all-Williams slam finals in 2002-2003 runs--most notably the French in 2002 (huge lead in that 1st set) and AO 2003 she was the better player at times, but Serena just fought so hard and never let her confidence waiver.

I remember the only black person in tennis was Arthur Ashe. We had Ali in boxing. OJ in football. Dr J., Wilt, Magic and few others in basketball. Track was Carl Lewis and numerous musicians, poets and actors - ironically not enough but too many to name right now... We've all wrote black history reports on one or more of these amazing people.
Back to tennis...The Williams sisters are simply HERSTORY! They were given nothing, worked their arses off and won it all. They didn't just win, they dominated. Nothing was given to them. Nothing! Pain, tears, sweat, losses, injury, RACISM, and even pregnancy couldn't stop them. Super SHEros! They "earned" every win!
