  • Quick ride on my buddy Dave's totally dialed 2024 Gas Gas 2024 MC450. Brad at Rideworx did the suspension: KYB spring inserts in the WP forks and a WP Pro Component rear shock. Factory Gas Gas split triple clamps. Hahn factory wheels with new Dunlop MX34 tires. Renthal handlebars and rear sprocket. Akrapovic slip on muffler. Gas Gas Connectivity Unit Offroad. Has a 60hp 450F ever been so easy to ride? Using the CUO we dialed in what I call the 350 map (Gravel/Wet with Throttle Response and Engine Braking both at minimum) for the dry choppy track conditions. The engine has smooth and long pulling power that makes these bike so fun and easy to ride. The WP Pro rear shock on the MC450 works great - noticeably better overall with better ramp up of damping on the rollers and still great bump absorption on the acceleration chop. The KYB spring fork inserts have a plush and controlled feel. We opened up the clickers today to a "comfort" like setting.
The new for 2025 Gas Gas chassis does not obsolete the current 24 chassis. If you are a weekend warrior and not so picky take advantage of the current deals on 24 models Austrian bikes. If you like having the latest stuff and need an excuse to upgrade the new chassis will be on the 25 model KTM/Husky/Gas Gas bikes and it does have a little more tire contact patch feel and compliance.

I have a '24 350 XCF for desert offroad in AZ. The dealer put in the 2025 engine hangar (with cut out). Made a huge difference. The chasis felt much softer and it was only $75. I highly reccomend it. Yes my cone valve and Trax shock also help in the rocks....Lol. 🤣

WP Pro Components suspension really helps bring a higher level of performance (and comfort!) to the Austrian bikes. For many riders adding the engine hanger brackets and getting the suspension tuned is a great way to update the 23/24 models to a similar spec as the 25 models. The CUO is also a nice upgrade and reducing engine braking helps free up the chassis feel too. There are some great deals out there now on 24 model Austrian bikes.

@@MXJEFF94 Yes - dial back the engine braking and free up the chassis and the bike even feels lighter too!👍

I think that bike is faster and smoother just because it looks so much better than its Austrian cousins.

The bright red colors (especially with the Factory Edition graphics) really pop on this 24 MC450!

For my 2023 SX-F 350, would you recommend the FMF slip on or Akrapovic? I know the Akrapovic is nice and quiet.

I prefer the quieter overall sound and spark arrester of the Akrapovic slip on and full systems. I have a full Akrapovic system ready to go on a 24 or 25 Austrian 350😎

Quick question please. On my CUO unit, I am only plugging the one connection in correct? I'm not using the GPS, so the other two just get zip tied in correct? (meaning they don't connect to anything...I know the big single one is for the GPS) The installation instructions from KTM are so confusing as they have the unit being installed upside down from what they show on their channel. The instructions say the CUO should be mounted on the forks with the lights on the bottom when looking at it from the side and all the wires coming out the bottom of the unit, opposite of how you all have it installed. People are commenting about it on the KTM channel.

Mine was installed onto the fork by the dealer and I've seen KTM info with it installed the other way too. We installed the CUO on my son's 23 450SXF as shown in the KTM CUO mounting instructions PDF. I don't think it matters.

@@mxengineer1 That's what I figured although most always I see it the way you have it installed, with the lights on top. Anyway, I do just connect that one plug right? The other two big ones just get zip tied? I know I definitely don't use the one on it's own wire as that is for the GPS, but do I do anything with the other one or is it just part of the one I do connect? I wish there were clear instructions, the PDF I found doesn't show much of anything. THANKS AS ALWAYS!!! Much appreciated!

@@brutus6328 Been a while since I installed a CUO - it seemed intuitive to me as the wires/couplers coming out of the connectivity unit match up with what is behind the number plate and keep the blank in the one for the GPS unit if you don't have that one.

@@brutus6328 Ha! Ha! I think the cover that comes on the coupler for the GPS antenna can be confusing. From 2:45 in this video you can see how to connect the CUO and the GPS....ua-cam.com/video/6SP9QICV83Q/v-deo.html
