I'd say being able to carry only 3 weapons is less of a limiter than the modification and maintenance costs. If anything I'd say keeping an off-set using alternate ammo can be beneficial if you run low on specific ammo types.
Now hold on... The APSB is MASSIVELY underrated here. It's objectively better than anything else you can find for a good long while, cheaper to run than the Rhino. That has everything to do with how Penetration works. Penetration is the stat that counters physical resistance and lets you punch through thin cover. In the midgame onward, enemies start wearing helmets, so the basic rounds from low pen guns won't kill in one tap. That's what the APSB's 3 pen is for - it doesn't matter if you lose a bit of damage, a lower damage headshot that pierces the helmet will kill faster than a higher damage one that doesn't. This saves on the need to use AP ammo. Also, the APSB gets vastly higher stats than either of the base pistols when fully upgraded (or even partly upgraded before blueprints) while still being able to fit a silencer, and can be upgraded with a sight rail for the Russian collimator sight, making it better at short to mid-range headshots. On top of that, it has twice the mag of a PTM and a burst trigger that can still be tap fired for single shots, meaning you can magdump into a charging Bloodsucker if needed. Oh right, and penetration is needed for mutants because in vanilla at least, they all pack a ton of physical resist. That's why they feel so tanky. Flat bullets are terrible against them, despite what you might expect from creatures made entirely of flesh - AP bullets are the way to make them more manageable.
I rate this, absolute mutant destroyer with AP on the APSB, plus cheap as hell, greatest backup when your main weapon starts jamming up on you, the Dnipro, APSB and m107 trio is underated also, as long as you got the artifacts to lug shit around, you'll be a death machine
@@deanlambert6995 such a valid combo. The m701 sniper is so satisfying. I've found a version of the M860 that has modification giving it a magazine. I have to admit though, it depends on how you play or fight, but even though a mag is good, being able to quickly load one or two shells in an emergency is still very good- as long as you are playing smartly. In some (not all but some) being able to load a shell faster than pushing a mag into the 860 can be life saving, but that is just my experience.
The Viper is great early-mid game. Ammo is plentiful. It'll kill anything as long as you're hitting headshots. The range and accuracy are fine and you can boost penetration. The weight is a bit less than anything comparable at the time. You can mod it to fire .45. You can find a 40 round mag. It'll take a holo sight. Set it to single fire for headshots on humans and auto for mutants other than dogs and rats and you'll go far with it. I've gone through everything with it so far and that includes wandering through much of the northern sections as soon as it was open. I have two of them both fully modded, but the unique one modded to .45. They're both still useful.
Bucket S-2 has same damage as AK74 but twice more pen, penetration is somehow more important than the damage the weapon do, for mutants it seems even the sawed off works well.
Viper 5 is also an early game .45 option, very cheap easily accessible re-chamber upgrade. Not that it's a great weapon. Nor than .45 is readily available early. Just that the UDP isn't literally the only thing spewing ACP early on.
If you're going to rechamber an SMG you may as well wait for the Integral-A, which is so much better than the Viper it's not even funny. Even if it isn't the Riemann from the DLC caches, which comes with a built-in suppressor like the DLC Fora and a monstrous range increase, the basic Integral and its base game unique variant will be available around the time you get more .45 anyway.
@tinnylaa6741 They definitely cranked the penetration and range a bit too high for a DLC exclusive... Takes a while to outclass it unless you prefer raw firepower. Eventually I swapped it for Dnipro/Kharod, the top tier ARs. Dnipro is incredibly easy to get (free one above the fire whirl anomaly in the cooling towers area, climb the scaffold outside the tower and slide back down the side onto the air cushion anomaly), and pretty sure I just found a Kharod on the way to Yaniv where both guns can be modded properly. Sucks they don't have uniques though. Also, if you're crazy enough to go that far north anyway... There's a diamond exoskeleton on top of the spark base/science bunker south of Yaniv (getting up there sucks though, have to mess with the physics and push boxes or something). Northeast, all the way next to the entrance to Prypiat, there's a pseudogiant guarding a bunch more science bunkers. Inside one is the Texan, the unique version of the RAM shotgun. Best shotty in the game by a huge margin, 14 mag and loads two at a time, with the highest stats and bonus accuracy for the unique variant.
@@FelisImpurrator Can also get the sprinting blueprint for that exoskeleton. Yeah i use the dnipro now currently with a suppressor on it. The ammo just seems easier to come by now later on. Once the devs fix A life, quest bugs etc, this will be a masterpiece.
In defense of M10 Gordon: Admittedly, this is not a gun that you want to be using regularly. However, when fully kitted out and with an extended mag, it can deal a lot of damage in a very short period of time. When the situation is truly desperate, it can be very helpful to be able to quickly dump 40 ammo-piercing rounds into someone's head. I've used it in encounters where the NPCs attack you straight from the dialogue, and the draw time matters. Or when my primary ran out of ammo, the secondary jammed, and I had a controller right in my face. It really saved me in these niche situations.

I haven't played the game yet, but advising against caliber sharing sounds really odd to me. In previous games, I always went for caliber sharing when possible. In SoC's Garbage you could get the Viper 9x18, which used the most abundant early game pistol ammo. Later, you could get the 9x39 Big Ben, which used the same ammo as the Tunder, VLA/Avalanche and Vintar, making it possible to use just one ammo (although 9x39 don't become sufficiently common until very late game).

@anthonynegron5145 It's not a glitch. You have to make sure the attachment is compatible with the weapon and also but the upgrade from a technician so that the weapon will have a rail to mount the optic on. If you don't have a rail than you obviously can't attach the optic.

Another comment made u good point about the mac10 being able to be put into the sidearm slot. Might just utilize scoped and silenced AK74S as my stealth rifle for higher capacity, Spas-12 I just found cause i never found a Saiga yet somehow, and now a mac10 to use against bloodsuckers after expending all my slugs lmao
Pretty much all except shottys, the machine gun, the revolver and a named udp with built in compensator that won't accept silencers, I have seen suppressors for snipers just haven't actually found it in my game
Since Spray n pray is clearly no option in the game, your accuracy is significant. Better go for an accurate gun, probably less damage, but keep in mind that switch ammo type, Single fire and headshots if against humans is important. Up against mutants stick with shotguns imoo😂way better choice
It works if you get the drop on ennemies and are nearly point blank. Perfect if you're picking up guns from fallen enemies as you go and have a stack of ammo to burn through. Get a laser sight or just leave the crosshair on and you'll be shredding early enemies easily.
im using a spas shotgun and ive only just started the noon quests after garbage .... i dont know where i found mine but ive had it for a while ... i may have found it in cordon possibly when i went there for a sight seeing tour before i went though the northern check point after completing the lesser zone quests its an always carry for me as i tend to run with an extra gun in my inventory
Real question is: can you increase stats above what the game shows? Like if you have 5 recoil why does the game even include more recoil upgrades? Do you get more recoil or no.
upgrades improve weapon stats beyond base values. some upgrades increase range or accuracy on the stat screen but they do different things, recoil compensation makes the gun handle better by staying on target after shooting (really good for full auto in short range vs mutants) but doesn't actually increase range or accuracy over longer distance. meanwhile bullet drop off actually increases the range you can reliable shoot a target for full dmg. the game lets you customize your weapons for specific tasks, a sniper like weapon doesn't really need recoil since you can generally drop an enemy in 1 headshot from long range before they can fight back, same weapon is rather bad in close quarters when it might be difficult to get a headshot and you don't want to waste rare sniper ammo on body shots, hence why you need something else with better recoil management to fill enemies with bullets (or you can make a hybrid gun to carry fewer weapons). raw dmg isn't the main factor to look at but also penetration since enemies have armor levels (bloodsuckers have 3 which is why they are so tanky in the beginning of the game when you have weapons with just 1 penetration). you need to move on to better penetration weapons even if they do less dmg than starting weapons because it saves ammo in the long run
I found the VS about 10 hours in. Almost immediately on an enemy after going through the north gate for the first time. I have yet to have an enemy drop a usable SVD 20 hours in. I had to buy one from a trader.
Yeah, found SVD pretty early in the first zone. I think it's in the factory near the north gate. There was a sniper in the a heavily trapped building. Didn't look like an RNG.

I find Skifs Pistol to be overall the best Sidearm Weapon you can get. It has very decent stats and weighs at 0.05kg basically nothing compared to other Weapons. Other then that the combination of a Saiga and a Dnipro seems to be the best. The Saiga is already far superior to other shotguns in its standard form while the Dnipro can be enhanced to be far superior to other assault rifles. Also the Dnipro uses one of the most commonly found amunitions which is whhy you most likely wont run out on ammo. Also you can use AKM weapon upgrades on the Dnipro which are found early on.
Yeah I ended up using the dnipro and the saiga combo, especially the dnipro's attachments and like you said using 5.45 it solid, no matter the playthrough, I'll be heading straight to buy or pick up these weapons in the world before doing anything
I have over 1000 rounds of every automatic weapon caliber, plus hundreds of rounds of every other caliber. Ammo is not scarce. If it is, you're doing something wrong. I'm pretty sure I bought 5.45 once early game. Aside from that, I've always had plenty of ammo. This game feels like it has far more resources than other stalker games.

@anthonynegron5145 It's not a glitch. You have to make sure the attachment is compatible with the weapon and also but the upgrade from a technician so that the weapon will have a rail to mount the optic on. If you don't have a rail than you obviously can't attach the optic.
I love how you say ammo is limited and scarce but you leave your guns on full auto when applicable
Escape from Tarkov: Hold my beer
12 inch shotguns? Wow...must be battleship caliber. What you do mean, I believe, is 12.7mm aka .50 cal which the 12 gauge is more or less the same thing.
I've been rocking the drowned rifle u get from the Slag heap as it come with a grenade launcher and I found a suppressor and scope for it not too long after getting it, replacing my VSS.
I have to disagree with M10 - fully upgraded is perfect in CQB to clear inside of buldings.
can you get a silencer for all weapons or only certain ones?
Pretty much all except shottys, the machine gun, the revolver and a named udp with built in compensator that won't accept silencers, I have seen suppressors for snipers just haven't actually found it in my game
Yeah I'm not seeing a lot of armor yet, but it will matter soon enough. I'm currently using all HP until I'm dry.
Toz is the best true early game though the m860 takes over once you leave the starting area
iiiiiitssss buwkaaaay deeeaaarrr!!!! Please tell me you get this reference lmfao
HOW DID HE PUT ON THE OPTICS? HOW DID HE REMOVE THEM?
What is this deep magic!? How did you put on the optics at @0:45?
If you look in your keybindings there's a key you can bind to this. Default is T I think
What about the spas since it’s in directly across from rookie village somewhere you can go in 39 minutes off the start of the game
there is a trader in that house.. and you just killed everyone xD
im using a spas shotgun and ive only just started the noon quests after garbage .... i dont know where i found mine but ive had it for a while ... i may have found it in cordon possibly when i went there for a sight seeing tour before i went though the northern check point after completing the lesser zone quests its an always carry for me as i tend to run with an extra gun in my inventory
Arguably best shotgun in the game imo, there's another variant with a built in scope you can get from completing arena too.
bro this video is so chatgpt made that im gonna ask chatgpt myself it will summerise it to 1 min :D
What is the best assault rifle in the game?
PP-19 is king... Later game, but damn it's so good.
AKM74U has a way better upgrade path and is the 3rd cheapest repair in game and can mount a red dot.
There is a magazine mod for the m860 shotgun. runs great
Real question is: can you increase stats above what the game shows? Like if you have 5 recoil why does the game even include more recoil upgrades? Do you get more recoil or no.
upgrades improve weapon stats beyond base values. some upgrades increase range or accuracy on the stat screen but they do different things, recoil compensation makes the gun handle better by staying on target after shooting (really good for full auto in short range vs mutants) but doesn't actually increase range or accuracy over longer distance. meanwhile bullet drop off actually increases the range you can reliable shoot a target for full dmg. the game lets you customize your weapons for specific tasks, a sniper like weapon doesn't really need recoil since you can generally drop an enemy in 1 headshot from long range before they can fight back, same weapon is rather bad in close quarters when it might be difficult to get a headshot and you don't want to waste rare sniper ammo on body shots, hence why you need something else with better recoil management to fill enemies with bullets (or you can make a hybrid gun to carry fewer weapons). raw dmg isn't the main factor to look at but also penetration since enemies have armor levels (bloodsuckers have 3 which is why they are so tanky in the beginning of the game when you have weapons with just 1 penetration). you need to move on to better penetration weapons even if they do less dmg than starting weapons because it saves ammo in the long run
i’m quite surprised there’s no AKM in 762/39
I found the VS about 10 hours in. Almost immediately on an enemy after going through the north gate for the first time. I have yet to have an enemy drop a usable SVD 20 hours in. I had to buy one from a trader.
Can fund an svd in starting zone. Think ammo is the issue though
Yeah, found SVD pretty early in the first zone. I think it's in the factory near the north gate. There was a sniper in the a heavily trapped building. Didn't look like an RNG.
Dnipro is the best ive used so far, when i do a hardcore playthrough im gonna beeline it for a high durability dnipro and head to yaniv for the suppressor or buy bit all at yaniv. Then back to wherever im continuing the story
I went with the 74U instead of 74S because the red dot I bought didn't seem to fit on the S
Bring us part 2 pleaseeeee
I liked u better on my eldin ring journey u was such a great content creator I believe u r still but these videos don't go to my heart like ur eldin ring videos hope u get more and more ppl
As an AS Val lover, where the hell do you even get 9x39 ammo???
How are you putting in attachments in game like that
I find Skifs Pistol to be overall the best Sidearm Weapon you can get.
Anyone know which trader sell 5.56 rounds? I’m in garbage zone so still in the beginning and I’m curious when I can get the 5.56 Ammo
I’m playing on normal and have close to 4000 AK rounds. I don’t get how people say ammo is scarce unless hard has like 0 drops
I got an Integral-A in the second area. It’s not late game
viper-5 and bucket s-2 which is better
def bucket s-2, it's better then most AR rifles
s-2, you want the extra penetration
Why are my stats completly differnt on all weapons
How to get the best scanner?
Still looking for the saiga
Integral is good
What about Spas shotgun?
Yiu can get s blueprint to make the pump shotguns a box mag
I found an M860 with a 10-round mag. 🤷♂
Me too, it's been carrying me the whole game
I’ll wait a bit until it’s been fixed and updated.
Cool.
video should be title early game
I have a mag fed M860.
No 7.62x39 rifles?
.308 is easier to get
7.62x39 is reserved for PKM machine gun. It should be 7.62x54R, but its how it is.
@Gangster88232 yes however dnipro also can use it but I can't find the blueprint
No vector?
Typo in the title "every" not "ever"
Awesome best vidéo on UA-cam since release. but you shouldn't have limited the choice of weapons you show for beginners. we are not all beginners we need another video that really talks about all the weapons in the game. because there in terms of sniper you show us nothing
where are 9x39 ammo bought?
Swamp or down right don’t know the name
@ who sells it
@@wtf3633Owl is the name I believe
Lmaooo late game 30 hours in. Ive got a day of playtime just barely made it to Garbage 😂. But Im sure I'm the minority. Just trying to find everything i can
Ffs.. People can't just use what they enjoy.. The Meta gaming starts already and multiplayer isn't even out yet.
Best trick is, to play and earn money, after you leave the lesser zone. than, when you have enaugh, go to the pripayat station, and get the best weapons directly.
making a comparisson without upgrade its like comparing classes how they perform against eachother without timing or using their abilities correct or is not carrying any armor with stats this video is complete uselesss.
the saiga is *not* a pump action shotgun. It's a magazine fed shotgun.
I got a save that gives all weapons and 10k carry weight from the first town lol
So it ruins the game. Got it
Wow a whole 30 weapons in a game in 2024
Blood there’s only about 30 guns in black ops 6. A triple A game made by thousands of people and not during a war.
Yeah and add named variations 35 40 .. how many you need ??? There is plenty
Go back to Fortnite or CoD kid
12 inch shotgun shells?😂 ok big boy, we believe you.
I wish they would add more guns.
Probably have to wait till modders start making weapon mods for the game.
