Grew up skipping school to drown minnows under sliding bobbers on Shasta (as a bank kid)! We would chase the debris fields and fish around them!
I’m a bank fisher out there and I be seeing them jump at this time but never get them
I would like to correct you on the "slow season" on Shasta. It doesn't exist. October is one of the BEST bass months on the lake. They move in closer to shore once again and you can catch them until you get tired of doing so. As you mention in the beginning of the video, Shasta is a multi-species lake. There is ALWAYS hot action in the lake if you know which species and spots to fish. Quite frankly, I would get bored targeting only one species on the lake year round.
Plus I'll add a very hot October and November tip for you. You can fish Medicine lake, NE of McCloud California in October and November for some of the best trout fishing for high mountain brown trout you could hope for. They are fattening up before the lake freezes over and it is a feeding frenzie. They will hit almost anything you throw out. It can be easily fished from the bank or by boat. There are great campsites around the lake that are for the most part empty that time of year.
Awesome.....You are correct about the bass action at Shasta...When I said it got slow I was mainly talking about trout fishing.....Shasta is my favorite lake because of the variety!!

I've fished many lakes. I can go to Rufus woods and catch big rainbows every time as an example. Or Riffe lake.
But Lake Shasta really sucks.
It's a weird lake. Alot of dead water in the lake.
I agree….. Lots of trout but lots of dead water
