Yes due to the cross-plane crank r1 produce better midrange power but lacks slightly in the top end compare to conventional inline 4. The midrange power of r1 makes it one of the best superbike for exiting the corner and that's what makes it so competitive in the track.

For me R1 is better because it's lighter than the ZX10RR for almost 9KG which makes a huge difference on how the bike accelerates even with lower torque compared to ZX10RR. And also the 90 degree crank also known as Crossplane
