After all these years, I am still pissed off at Randy's ass for saying that low down mess about this young lady. She can sing and she should have definitely gone through. I agree with the comment below. Randy had a problem with certain black women and I don't know why because she is a beautiful lady and she definitely has the vocal ability. Also, she sounded good even with her being hoarse. They totally missed the mark with this young lady.
I swear to god, Jazmin and Angela were SCREWED by being in the same week as Kelly and Justin. At least ONE of them should have gone through to the Top 10 if not both of them.
SING it jaz! Long island all dayy baby!!!!!! she should have placed in the top 10 that year. you can tell she was nervous and paula was right it is a very tuff song to sing. uhmmm that tone quality.... is the SHIT!
Tamia is one of the best vocalist ever and some of her signature songs are "You Put a Move on My Heart," "Me," "Stranger in my House" amongst others. You should pick up her cds because they are excellent.
When I first saw this years ago I was so confused why Randy didn't like this performance, truthfully I'm still confused, just goes to show why Simon is paid the big bucks and not Randy.
First time seeing this. I like her voice! You can tell she was nervous and I'm guessing she was hoarse, which was probably what she was nervous about, as she dodged the high note at the end, but in a nice way. A good performance nonetheless; I bet she'd definitely be amazing if she weren't hoarse.
This still puzzles me that Randy didn't like this. This was a beautiful performance. Think of all the people that sang that season and made it. She could sing so much better than so many of them. I am sorry. I am with Simon on this one. I absolutely loved it. It has been years since I saw her sing and it still sounds amazing!
A bit loud but very good, lol and ryan and brian only focused on simon probably bc randy was on crack this episode lol, he praised rodesia earlier for her daydream believer debacle
That was the episode before actually. For the record though, I liked Rodesia's performance also though. It was VERY different and her movement on stage was bad. I loved the raspy quality of her voice though
@@tbewin1z143Its kind of a polarizing performance. Paula and Randy liked it also. It was very different but that's what I liked about it IMO the worst performance is probably Lou from this recent season, that rocker guy Season 9 Haeley's I wanna Hold Your Hand also was pretty awful
I think that this was a great performance, but she had the odds stacked against her not having been seen before this round. Does anyone know if she's still doing music these days?
The first AI I watched the whole season from day one, they made one mistake they fixed now. Which was, America was the one to vote who would be the top 10 back then very bad decision, they picked a lot of bad singers and also voted for people they felt sorry for like Jim verros, i think thats his name. Angela Peel, Kelli Glover, should have been in the top ten to name a few. Glad they learned and fixed it, but season1 will always be my favorite.
I agree. That whole "let the audience call in and vote for their favorite idol" turned it into a mall rat popularity contest. That's where they lost me.
You are so correct!! Four out of the five guys: R.J., A.J., Ejay & Verraros should not have been voted in. The four ladies should have been: Kelli Glover, Tonesha Ross, Angela Peel, & Melanie Sanders. I didn't think Jazmin should have made it, but I didn't think Christina Christian should have either, & she rocked once she made it in, or until she got voted off. That was actual a bad performance from her, but I think she had done well enough to survive at that point. The same is said for Tamyra Gray. She got vote off in a hurry once she gave an ok performance...
I feel bad for her and Angela. If those two girls had been on either week 1 or week 3 (ESPECIALLY week 3 because with the exception of Christina Christian they ALL sucked) they would have easily made it into the Top 10.
Should have used less power has a good middle range reminds me of Latavia from Destiny's Child but this may have been a bad choice for a struggling voice
She was on showtime at the apollo and won twice. She was 16 and still could blow
Damn! I loved her! I wonder what she's up to now!! Go Jazmin!!!
Shes good

Angela Peel
Angela, yes.
I didn't think Jazmin was that good though personally
So funny how commenters want to critique as if they are trained musical coaches. This young lady can just straight up sing. She really can!
Anyone remember her on the Apollo when she was 16? She won amateur nite.
I'm watching it on Pluto now. She IS a good singer.
i thnik she was wonderful

Tenia Taylor?

she probably refused to sleep with him; that town is evil
SHE REALLY SHOULD HAVE MADE IT!
Yeah lol that’s my mom
@@osogwuapo4270are you serious? Is she still singing? I just saw her on an old Apollo show…amazing voice
Apollo brought me here
Yea Hempstead!
it was a tough song....randy she missed maybe one or two notes....but it was good
is this the same girl that was on apollo?

I don't think so
SHOUT MY COUSIN SISTA
Because his ears were working.
The black guy was hating on you i can sing but im also shy whats a good tip you can give me too be strong like you.
this was beautiful. I thought she should have moved on instead of AJ.
Yeah, but about five others should have moved on instead of A.J.:
1. Angela Peel
2. Tenia Taylor
3. Gil Sinuet
4. Alexis Lopez
5. Jamar Simmons
@@asmrcritique6565 I disagree with Jamar I thought his performance was worst than AJ.
