Mmmm I really do have a sensitive tummy - that's how I ended up going vegetarian... I've actually cut out even more food recently and my tummy has been feeling even better! I am Thai. I like your video. Good information. I agree with you for animal tourism and I respect your opinion. But please believe me. Elephants are like horses. We rode them in the past, more than 400+ yrs, until now. We rode in the past for traveling and in war, as I said like horses. Some people in north or northeast pet them in their family long long time, which different from wild elephants. Ofcourse Thais like elephants and want to protect them too. Nowadays we don't using them anymore, so they are jobless. Elephant's tourism is for preventing the owners bring them wandering around city for money. RIding elephants is not a crime, it likes we ride horses.
Hi Arpa Kai. I want to hear your thoughts on all this after watching "Elephant Crushing" video that is linked in Phoebe's comment box above. After watching that video, I don't think anybody would want to ride an elephant. I surely don't.
@@ordinaryguy1025 Do you know why we have to tame them? Because they can kill people, destroy houses and destroy crops, and people will not let them do that. They will kill them for sure if the elephants uncontrolled. Elephants are one of dangerous animals. They are not always friendly like you think. I can't explain everything. Elephant crushing is a process for Thais to use them for our benefits since the past. It is just a process and it is in our culture. After the process, the bound between the owner and elephant born. They would love each other. In the past, we caught wild elephants and tamed them. But nowadays, we pet them and they give birth. We have to control their behavior. Like I already said if they uncontrolled they would be killed to save human lifes. And I think no one want to pet them anymore nowadays because they have to spend lots of money for their foods and have enough spaces for them. It's quite difficult to return them to the jungles. No enough jungles for them, and even the wild elephants, they walk to human's villages to steal foods. We just wants to help them survive when Thais don't want them anymore.
@@ordinaryguy1025 And it's OK to not ride the elephants in Thailand. Its your decision I respect. But I just want to say that riding elephants is not a crime.
Arpa Kai thanks for your views. Yes I know riding elephants is not a crime, that's why many tourists do it and there are many service providers that advertise it, but it's what goes on behind the scenes that is so morally questionable. If we ride those elephants we are supporting and encouraging the practice of elephant crushing. I just think elephants and all other animals for that matter should be left alone in the wild unless absolutely necessary. Just my thought.
Hello Karim! Matt and I visited in August last year and we still had an amazing time but, I do have to say, it did rain most days (not all day) and while I love tropical rainstorms and it was really fun at times, there were some days I was longing for lots of sun so I could swim and spend more time at the beach... It's not impossible but it's also not the full Thailand experience. That said, if you have to visit at that time... I mean, the food and drinks and locals and all around vibe are just awesome regardless. Phoebe x
As a Thai, I’m really impressed with your level of understanding in our culture. Amazing. Love the “lod noi na” phrase haha. Ps. I just wish more of young Australians would have the same mind set as you when they come over. God bless.
Thank you so much for watching! So glad you liked the sharing of this tip :) There can definitely be a misunderstanding around what's appropriate in terms of clothing! I always find the locals seem so genuinely happy when you show up dressed in a way that's respectful to the temple rules. It's sweet to see :)
You can travel any time you like! Just jump on Google and look up the weather or temperatures for that time of year and decide if that’s gonna work for you 😄 my advice: just go!
You have told what most millions know so it's old news but the few young people coming through hopefully it will help them. I've travelled Thailand since 2000 so I know all the rules and most of all the new visa rules some of which changed a few months ago. The best vlogger for Thailand is (KEV IN THAILAND) he is the best and knows every single rule there is.
@@novemberman613 I'm a local in the southern part of Thailand (quite near Phuket). It's around 35-36C. Bangkok, from what I heard from the news, is around 37-38C. For the north and north-eastern, it can be as high as 41-43C, with occasional rain storms.
If your male and travelling alone familiarise yourself with beer bars and what goes on, so when you here 'up to you' you'll know what that really means 🇹🇭
We visited an amazing sanctuary with bathing and loved it! I think one of the key things to look for, even at sanctuaries, is making there are no forced behaviours :) The one we went to, some of the elephants weren't up for it so they weren't forced - it was really lovely.
@@travelforphoebe hi Phoebe. Isn't elephant bathing by humans totally against what elephants want and are comfortable with? Personally I feel anything with animals in some of these countries are off limits. It's a bit hard to tell what is OK and what isn't.
Let me add a few tips. Motorcycle taxis, hugely popular and convenient. Best avoided if you value your life. Safety is not a priority for most motorcycle taxi drivers. Reckless driving, bald tyres, broken tail lights are common. Accidents are common. And if you don't have a proper helmet, forget about it. You would not ride a motorbike at home without a helmet, you surely should not in Thailand. Street food- use your common sense. Freshly grilled things, food in cardboard or banana leaf containers are mostly pretty safe, but bowls of noodles at stalls where there is no running water source to be seen, and all the bowls and implements are "washed" in one bucket of water, you had better avoid. Nothing is worth coming down with a bad dose of gastroenteritis. Dual pricing or discriminatory pricing, where tourists are charged more for attractions than locals, it's common, it's unfair, it's annoying, but don't get too worked up about it. Thailand is not an expensive destination. Entry fees for the Grand Palace is but a fraction of what you would pay to get in to the Louvre, or Windsor castle, or the Doge's Palace.
good general advise, but the scooter even if are experienced, i would not hire one, Its the most dangerous thing you can do! The roads and driving standards are challenging at best, spend a few extra £/$ and rent a car, cheap and easy and a damn lot safer. I have a nut allergy the phrase "My Si Tor" works well
These videos are amazing, I’m a huge fan, however, this week I feel some constructive criticism is warranted... It’s really unfair to tease your followers with intel of things that Matthew can do well and then not deliver?! I’m sure I’m not alone in really wanting to see/hear Matthew asking for a discount in Thai?!?! Whilst I’m at it, I feel the split second on Matthew on a swing was grossly inadequate during the ‘what to wear’ section, I really struggle with what to wear in warmer climate and was left wanting to see/hear more about this moisture wicking tee ?! Hello! Thanks so much for watching - have a great day! Phoebe x
"Toilet-Ready Kit" was a great advice Phoebe, I have durian scented paper in mine ;)
baanaahahahahahahhaha I can't! Just when I think there's no way to durian-ise something, you make it happen! hahahah P xxxx
LOL Durian, you're a weird one, but in a good way :)
I practice Durianism and speak Durianese. I will Durianise everything and everyone until I achieve worldwide Durianation ! ha ha ha...... bit embarrassed speaking like this.
dude ................
You're nothing if not passionate, Durian!! Your last comment had Matt and I in stitches 😂 he's trying to talk me into eating a Durian for you in a video one day but I really don't have what it takes 😂 P x
love thailand and love you too

Hii Phoebe
You got pleasant voice, like to hear more n more.
Hello! Thanks so much for watching! Hope you have a great day - Phoebe
Hi, thanks for the great tips! As someone from Australia as well, just wondering what type of adapters you use in Thailand?
Hello! Thanks so much for watching - I'd recommend google image searching it so you can see the right ones to pack (a safer bet than me describing it)! hope you have a great day 😊Phoebe x
@@ordinaryguy1025 I agree with you, they should live in a wild. But like I already said that so sad they couldn't.

A trip.....? Nope! But I like to look at these videos. 👍
Very informative. Is Thailand impossible in September considering the rains?
Hello Karim! Matt and I visited in August last year and we still had an amazing time but, I do have to say, it did rain most days (not all day) and while I love tropical rainstorms and it was really fun at times, there were some days I was longing for lots of sun so I could swim and spend more time at the beach... It's not impossible but it's also not the full Thailand experience. That said, if you have to visit at that time... I mean, the food and drinks and locals and all around vibe are just awesome regardless. Phoebe x
Hi. Any restaurants you would recommend?
Hey Maria! We have quite a few Thailand videos on our channel and all our restaurant recommendations/experiences are in those! :)
Quality video!
As a Thai, I’m really impressed with your level of understanding in our culture. Amazing. Love the “lod noi na” phrase haha.
Ps. I just wish more of young Australians would have the same mind set as you when they come over.
God bless.
Hello!! We really appreciate the kindness and support! Thank you so much for watching 😍🙌🏻 hope you have a great day! Phoebe x
Nice video love from Pakistan 😍😍👍😍
Thanks so much, Kawish! Phoebe x
Thank you for mentioning about temple wear. That's probably most offensive when I see tourists didn't wear appropriated outfit. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for watching! So glad you liked the sharing of this tip :) There can definitely be a misunderstanding around what's appropriate in terms of clothing! I always find the locals seem so genuinely happy when you show up dressed in a way that's respectful to the temple rules. It's sweet to see :)
presenter of CNN & CNBC awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
🙏🏼
Your all videos are great sister plz once visit Pakistan northern area ..naran kahan hunza and neelum valley
Thank you!
@@travelforphoebe you welcome sister
can i travel in january i am planning to go but not aware of the climate. kindly advise??
You can travel any time you like! Just jump on Google and look up the weather or temperatures for that time of year and decide if that’s gonna work for you 😄 my advice: just go!
You have told what most millions know so it's old news but the few young people coming through hopefully it will help them. I've travelled Thailand since 2000 so I know all the rules and most of all the new visa rules some of which changed a few months ago. The best vlogger for Thailand is (KEV IN THAILAND) he is the best and knows every single rule there is.
I disagree. Kev's channel is more for middle aged single white men. His video skills are quite mediocre too. Very shaky and hard to watch.
😂😂😂
40 degree celcius now in Thailand
Stoppppp! No!! That's so hot! I don't know how you do it! Phoebe x
I’m in Thailand now. Boiling here.... :)
Hello!! Thank you so much for watching 😍🙌🏻 hope you have a great day! Phoebe x
is the weather too hot now? whats the temp?
If u bored go for tinder haha
@@novemberman613 I'm a local in the southern part of Thailand (quite near Phuket). It's around 35-36C. Bangkok, from what I heard from the news, is around 37-38C. For the north and north-eastern, it can be as high as 41-43C, with occasional rain storms.
What do you expect it's the hottest time of year🙄🙄🙄🙄
What about dangerous animals like snakes? Is it very possible to “meet” them? Or can you live there without a ring scared to “meet” them all the time?
I’ve never seen a snake in Thailand and I once did a jungle trek
I think she said guys end what they say with "cap." But isn't it supposed to be "crap"?
Haha she (me) said Krap but it’s said very soft, almost like khap, not with hard ‘r’ like crap
@@travelforphoebe , the ‘r’ is soft in Thai language
Gandhi said: The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated!
Thanks for watching!
I wish you should be getting some more benefits from TAT as your advertising vids via tubb.
Thanks for watching Jimmy
If your male and travelling alone familiarise yourself with beer bars and what goes on, so when you here 'up to you' you'll know what that really means 🇹🇭

Hello!! Thank you so much for watching 😍🙌🏻 hope you have a great day! Phoebe x
You can still partake in an elephant experience, just not ride them. A few sanctuaries offer bathing and mutual interactions. 💙
😘😘 I like video so good. 😘😘

Thanks for sharing all your Thailand tips!! Have a great day and week ahead - Phoebe x
good general advise, but the scooter even if are experienced, i would not hire one, Its the most dangerous thing you can do! The roads and driving standards are challenging at best, spend a few extra £/$ and rent a car, cheap and easy and a damn lot safer. I have a nut allergy the phrase "My Si Tor" works well
Thanks for the feedback and for watching vk2p :) Matt
These videos are amazing, I’m a huge fan, however, this week I feel some constructive criticism is warranted... It’s really unfair to tease your followers with intel of things that Matthew can do well and then not deliver?! I’m sure I’m not alone in really wanting to see/hear Matthew asking for a discount in Thai?!?! Whilst I’m at it, I feel the split second on Matthew on a swing was grossly inadequate during the ‘what to wear’ section, I really struggle with what to wear in warmer climate and was left wanting to see/hear more about this moisture wicking tee ?! X
😂😂😂😂😂😂 I just about fell off my chair when he showed me the video and the ‘what a guy should pack’ bit cut to him on that swing 😂😂
Little Grey Box I’m thinking of starting a #morematthewcampaign
