You are right it's gone seriously downhill since we were young and at best you had a Lonely Planet guide. It's REALLY gone downhill in the last decade or so with the rise of Influencers and Vloggers and the sheep they attract. My pet LOL are the "Thailands Best Kept Secret' vlogs, usually featuring some island that isn't Phuket or Samui and therefore slightly less populated. All that GenZ naivity like they are the first to ever set foot there. They are even more embarassing than this video. I went in July 2021 (again) for 8 months during Covid. The entire country was practically devoid of tourism. We travelled to every island and several other places - had Chaweng Beach and Lamai practically to ourselves. Met some great 'real' travellers, did some brilliant cycling and diving etc. It was like being back in the 80s almost 🙏

Technology has completely transformed the way we live, work and do business. It’s made us more efficient in our day-to-day tasks, I make huge profits on my investment since I started trading with Annie Harris, her trading strategies are top-notch
I invest with Harris too, she charges a 20% commission on profit made after every trading session and that's fair compared to the effort she puts in to make huge profit
I use a phone service from Australia - $20 for 365 day expiry, esim, gets me through the airport and Grab, while I slip in a local sim for cheap data. Easy!
Thankfully I live in the US and love my phone service. $65 USD for 50GB 5G data around the world through Google FI. The drinking rule shocked me as well. Though you can but anytime at night.
220 THB is what the local bank will charge you. Home bank will also charge you a conversion fee, so the total comes out to $17USD per ATM withdraw. I prefer ATM than bringing a wad of cash. The easy solution is opening a Charles Schwab account and get the fees reimbursed. SIM card was no issue and you'll be ok to take a few minutes and get done at the airport. My only regret is not downloading a transport app prior to travel. Even with a SIM card, you don't get those notifications via text to continue creating a account.

Crazy youtube. This was in my recommended feed. The alcohol laws. I actually just learned this from another vlog just tonight. They don't allow alcohol sales from 2 to 5pm as that is the time when school kids get out from school. It is to discourage underage drinking and businesses from selling to minors. I say works for me.
That's one incredible ad. Everyone watching this video will look into that, i'm sure. Btw, I'm not a bot, I just apprechiate that you didn't waste my time.
Nice tips. Most surprising was that alcohol thing. I did not know. I usually buy beers around that time to drink in the evening. Maybe that sim card thing is also a good idea. All are useful tips and so curious about the street food.
I buy beer at a supermarket, not 7-11, during the day time, drop off your laundry in the morning and pick it up next day at any laundry shop, they iron, fold and pack it up for easy carry, acceptable costs.
The ATM fee for foreign cards has been there for many years in most countries in Asia and Europe that I visited. The equivalent of 6 USD usually. Like you said go indide the bank if possible or withdraw the max amount in one shot in the ATM.
Also if you go into true mobile but the shop not into a 7 you can get a sim card for 300thb unlimited data and calls for 30 days, it will usually even work if you have a blocked phone, mine is a blocked Australian phone and Thai sims work fine, it's only 10 US for 30 days
Yes only to apply for the Thai pass which is mandatory right now. They need 1. Scan/pic of Passport 2. Full vaccination certificate and it's QR code (just screenshot and crop from the certificate) OR tests of not vaccinated 3. Medical insurance that covers $10000 (the Thai pass website suggests a few Thai companies, but you can buy from any which covers the requirements). 4. One hotel booking confirmation. Just one day confirmed booking is fine. Everything is written in details and clearly on their website. And mine was processed within 2 hours, I was stressing about the insurance initially because one of them has a 14 day waiting time OR present rcptr test which i don't want to. But I bought mine from MSIG Thai insurance company and it was instant. Hope this helped.

Thai temple for emergencies? What do you mean?
use google translate as a last resort - learn basic Thai via YouTub- it’s not that hard and should only take a few hours (how many hours do you spend watching trash tv ;p ) the locals will appreciate it and you have less chance of being scammed. please don’t write off spicy street food- it will make you feel alive?! What’s the point of travelling if you are play the apps and eat the same food you can eat back home :) agree with your others points - please don’t ever step foot inside a taxi unless they use meter. Be assertive. Oh and Bolt is much cheaper than grab as mentioned in the vid. 🙏🤙✌️
@@baileyisone they will help you regardless of your situation - shout out to Buddhism ☸️ :)
@@btswitch4619 only when you’re desperate! It’s much more fun / rewarding interacting with the locals. Yes it’s challenging but if you don’t want to be tested, why travel?!
I’m not even travelling to Thailand but I’m watching anyway 🤷🏻♀️😂 Great video Lloyd and Mandy 👍🏼
too funny
We love you Lloyd!!!!!!
Yeaaahhhh, he smiled ! .... o.k. one time only, he does not want to exaggerate.
I'm planning to go to thailand at the start of 2024 but as a control freak I'm researching now
this video is super useful thank u!!!

How was your trip?
Good tips and thanks for sharing. Safe travel and well wishes.
Just Binge watch six of your videos. You guys are doing a great job. Keep up the great work. Love that you guys are giving us the exact prices and what you were spending. Do you guys ever stay in hostels?
Awesome video! I'll keep these tips in mind when I travel there one day!😀
I first went to Thailand in 1982 Thailand was a real paradise then, now it,s changed so much
Everywhere was paradise then.😬
You are right it's gone seriously downhill since we were young and at best you had a Lonely Planet guide.

Great information
Thank you both I’m heading there this spring. Plan on traveling the world. Don’t know what’s next don’t care lol. You are wonderful people and thank you again. And I did subscribe of course. Have a blessed day good luck with the wedding.
Hi guys,
Where did you find the best place Thailand or Bali ????
Technology has completely transformed the way we live, work and do business.
It’s made us more efficient in our day-to-day tasks, I make huge profits on my investment since I started trading with Annie Harris,
her trading strategies are top-notch
We can now utilise evolving technology,
market trends and consumer habits to bolster our income
I invest with Harris too, she charges a 20% commission on profit made after every trading session and
that's fair compared to the effort she puts in to make huge profit
@@tConradMartell It's easy to reach her through her telegram channel
@@tConradMartell which is msannieharris
Wow, amazing to see others who trade with Annie Harris, I'm currently on my 5th trade with her and my portfolio has grown tremendously.
Welcome to Thailand❤🇹🇭🙏
How long did the caat drone registration take ? 🥺 some people are also telling me I’ll be fine flying the drone just to make sure police aren’t around
That was really informative & helpful guys thank you !!!
Thailand is so beautiful
very very beautiful
Congrats on 20k guys!
ขอให้มีความสุขกับการเที่ยวไทย
I use a phone service from Australia - $20 for 365 day expiry, esim, gets me through the airport and Grab, while I slip in a local sim for cheap data. Easy!
Thankfully I live in the US and love my phone service. $65 USD for 50GB 5G data around the world through Google FI.
The drinking rule shocked me as well. Though you can but anytime at night.
We just came back from Thailand two days ago. Wish I’d seen this video earlier🤣 Great advises👍
He unvise Ami man jou know wy wy wy I bring cahs to filipines 10000 dollar tats wise note the f atm card usles there to expensiv cahs is King there not the f kredicard nobody want only cahs
Terrific video guys, we shall be there in early June (Phuket) the esim sounds a great idea!
Travel safe!
Great Stuff Guys!
Thank you guys! I’m arriving in Chiang Mai in 2 weeks and this is so helpful! Keep it up guys❤😊
LLoyd is smiling. Is that a good maker? Lol, how fun, just have fun.
I found saying Khrap ( or Kah if you're female) )all the time during a conversation is super polite and the Thai's will respect you for this.
All you are doing is acknowledging you understand what is being said. If you do this when the Thai speaker knows you don't really understand they will not respect you for it, believe me.
The atm fees tip is pretty helpful, I'll definitely use it on my next thailand trip. I could have saved at least $100
I’m from AUS I been using Citibank debit/travel card … only cost is exchange rate no atm or international transaction fee
Wat the f atm fee jou pay the bankster a fee wow cahs is King in Asia not a atm stuped
Easier to prebuy cash before leaving home
Hey thank for coming to Thailand. Our economy depend on you the foreigners.
My mantra for travel - research research research!
Great episode guys!!
This was an awesome video, thank you!
Thank you Shirley!
That's one incredible ad. Everyone watching this video will look into that, i'm sure. Btw, I'm not a bot, I just apprechiate that you didn't waste my time.
thanks
Hey guys! What's the mask situation over there? I'm assuming - watching your video - that you have to wear them? Thanks!
Nice tips. Most surprising was that alcohol thing. I did not know. I usually buy beers around that time to drink in the evening. Maybe that sim card thing is also a good idea. All are useful tips and so curious about the street food.
Welcome Thailand Sir.
Atm fees is normal for international it normally charge more so between withdraw a lot at once or do exchanges money before coming.
Is it the same fee regardless of how much you withdraw? Or does the fee increase with the amount you withdraw?
I buy beer at a supermarket, not 7-11, during the day time, drop off your laundry in the morning and pick it up next day at any laundry shop, they iron, fold and pack it up for easy carry, acceptable costs.
The ATM fee for foreign cards has been there for many years in most countries in Asia and Europe that I visited. The equivalent of 6 USD usually. Like you said go indide the bank if possible or withdraw the max amount in one shot in the ATM.
mandy expression : 😁🙂
lloyd expression : 😐😐😐😐
Haha love u guys! Take care!
Absolutely like the esim option
Lovely vid..!! Thank you.
Also if you go into true mobile but the shop not into a 7 you can get a sim card for 300thb unlimited data and calls for 30 days, it will usually even work if you have a blocked phone, mine is a blocked Australian phone and Thai sims work fine, it's only 10 US for 30 days
Going to Thailand in October. Great info, guys! Thanks!
im planning my trip to go thailand mid december to late january 2023, looking at the islands and phuket area
Enjoy!!!
Thank you for sharing! I likes your VDO 👍🏼💕 great 👌🏼
Well the lack of planning on your part is the key take away point
Do you need the travel insurance for Thailand? I've asked 5 people, all day they dint even check for it at the airport
Yes only to apply for the Thai pass which is mandatory right now. They need
1. Scan/pic of Passport
2. Full vaccination certificate and it's QR code (just screenshot and crop from the certificate) OR tests of not vaccinated
I believe you don’t need insurance now, they just changed the laws
@@lesliestenta3084 yes started from July 1st. No Thai pass, no insurance.
Mask is your choice, except in public transportation (but again, mostly upto individuals/ airlines)
Very helpful video. Thanks for sharing the tips 🙏
Bolt is also in Georgia.
