  • Mikhail Botvinnik is one of the most influential figures in the history of chess. In this video we take a look at how he first made his name known, while discussing his concept of "attacking zones" and how he would use this idea in his work with chess artificial intelligence. His opponent in this game is none other than José Raul Capablanca, who I have also done a video on which you can find here:

    I love these videos so much because it’s clear you put a lot of thought into them...I love the seamless blend between historical background of not only the players and context of the game, but the specific moves and concepts as well. Combined with your relaxing delivery and pace, you’ve become one of if not my favorite ASMR channels on youtube. Thanks for all your hard work.😁

    This channel is probably the most frustrating one of UA-cam, it's both so relaxing and interesting, you're stuck between the following of the game and the fact that this guy is so calm you know you'll be sleeping by the end of the video.
    Still a incredible channel though

    Very nice video. By the way I really enjoyed the video with a background fireplace and crackling noises, could you do another one like that?

  •  Рік тому

    29:19 At this point Black Queen could go G6 check. In this position White Queen must capture. So White Queen takes Black Queen on G6, pawn take White Queen on G6, White King takes black pawn on G6 then Black King can go F7 attacking the passed white pawn. If it goes to F8 - becomes queen - Black King takes White Queen on F8. After this Black has a knight advantage and has escaped the deadly checkmate.
    Am I missing something here? If I am correct Capablanca should have seen this.
    After writing this down I realized if White King is on G6 then Black King can't go F7. Too bad. 😁

    • @ASMRChess
      @ASMRChess  3 роки тому +1

      yes when he came the picture suddenly changed. When he refused to defend his title against Karpov the Soviets took over the chess world again though. Then it wasn't until Anand beat Kramnik for the title in 2008 that it was someone from outside USSR or later Russia that held the world championship.

  • @thebossgaming3096

    wait correct me if i am wrong but Capablanca could have won the game if he moved queen g 6 after Botvinnik move king h 5 this would have forced a queen trade then Capablanca is up a knight 29:16

    • @ASMRChess
      @ASMRChess  3 роки тому +1

      No it doesn't work but I should have explained that. Queen to g6+, queen takes queen, pawn takes queen, king takes pawn. Now you cannot stop the pawn from becoming a queen because white's king defends f7 and the pawn defends f8.
