To anyone struggling- I had ADHD, failed my freshmen classes and have trich (OCD). Everything she’s saying is true but the most important thing is to destroy your ego. You need to be real with yourself instead on look up UA-cam videos to give you serotonin. I told myself that there is no one else to blame but me. I had to change my outlook on life and school, instead of seeing each day as “another day”…I saw each day as growth, I didn’t study bc I had to, I studied bc I want to be an amazing nurse and to be those people who have a wide range of knowledge. I stopped lying to myself and sugarcoating everything. I’m not gifted or a genius, I HAVE to put in tremendous work and I accepted that. I recently made a 91 on my anatomy bc of this shift. All this nice cute aesthetic “it girl” routine will never work if you have a poor mindset.
That was exactly what I wrote down before I went to bed last night. A shift in mindset! For someone embarking on the journey to be more self disciplined, i came to the realization that I have to change my mindset in order to be disciplined. It starts in the mind. You have to be able to reset your mind to think that you do the things you need to do, not necessarily because you want to but because of the benefits on the other side. That way, when you don't feel like doing something you have to do, you tell yourself, you remind yourself of the reason you committed to do it. That realization or shift in mindset will propel you to get up and do what you need to do. You have to change or replace the wrong mindsets with positive ones. You change from, "I don't feel like doing this" to, "I don't feel like doing this but I know the benefit of doing it so I will get up and do it anyway." It works!
Discipline is the bridge that connects your goals to your accomplishments. By staying focused and putting in the hard work, you can achieve great things. It's important to remember that change starts from within. Focus on the changes you want to make in your identity and align your actions accordingly. Embrace your uniqueness and let it shine through in everything you do. You have the power to make a difference in the world, so stay disciplined, stay focused, and never stop striving towards your goals.
Atomic habits, I love that book! I find that it’s slow to get started reading a book (fiction and nonfiction) and then spending more time on it once it starts to get good. Getting started is the hardest part :)

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my UA-cam channel 2 months ago about self development. Now I have 169 subs and almost 80 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
@@kubriela My channel has almost 200 subs and 84 hours of watch time although my next video completion progress has been pretty slow due to switching to another editing software and change of gears but no matter how slow it is to make videos, I do enjoy it. I know that my channel is way more low quality and not even close to other UA-camrs' success out there but really, I realized that the main reason for doing this is not about the success but the inspiration I've been providing some people with my stories and experiences. Whoever you are, I don't know you personally but I can say based on what you said, I can say that you're one of the non-judgmental and open-minded people who is not fixated on tangible or external factors in order to learn from someone like me. Just because someone doesn't have a piece of paper as a credential, doesn't mean that person is not entitled to share personal experiences with the hope & intention to inspire others. Keep up with whatever it is that you're doing to improve mankind or improving your life even to a slight degree each day. This is just one part of a bigger puzzle for creating my UA-cam channel about holistic health. I literally could have died back when I was 14 years old due to major depression but here I am right now replying to you, a UA-camr, who's full of fulfillment and dedication to help others to be a better version of themselves. I ain't better than anyone else but my old self. That's all that really makes this UA-cam thing more meaningful and enjoyable. Thanks so much for your support!

Honestly, even if you're doing just body weight exercises, go to the gym. Seeing other people working out just makes it more familiar to work out yourself.
Rewarding myself never works for me. Rewards just fuel my ed. I'm working towards not eating junk food so eating junk just won't work with me. This is the same for every other goal I have.
