1980s ACC BASKETBALL WAS THE GREATEST ERA IN ACC CONFERENCE HISTORY. All the teams had so much talent. It was so fun to watch

The best ACC tournaments were in the late 1960s to 1975. Particularly 1973-74 (champion NC State). Only one team from the conference (the ACC champion) made it to the NCAA tournament. So the ACC tournament games were extra meaningful.

“I hope we sometimes get into a facility where we can accommodate all the people,” the commissioner said. Clearly he’s not happy that he has to stage one of the rare championships not being played down on Tobacco Road. Capital Centre held about as many as any building down there. The league was about revenue for North Carolina. Good thing Maryland joined the Big Ten.
