Just crashed mine today for the second time since I got it last November. From a visual standpoint, only thing that broke was blades. I’m sure it needs a shaft or two but this heli is unreal. One of my favorites in my fleet. Can fly it without any worry of crashing it. Last crash cost me $5 not including blades!
It’s the perfect daily flyer or a machine to help you with new maneuvers or skills. Very cheap to crash and flies. Great! I wish you great success in the new year!
Great flying as always sir,my god you make it look so easy,I would love to be able to fly like that,my rs4 venom is supposed to arrive today,I got the same color, can’t wait, and have a happy new year sir
Thank you, Glenn! Greatly appreciate it, you are going to love your venom. It is a great machine very cheap to crash. Perfect for practicing! You will get there, it’s all about practice and sim time.
Merry Christmas happy new year to you and your family Jeff. I have to say only Futaba 16iz and ikon2 . I do have a CGY but I needed a friend at my field to set it up. The ikon2 is so easy to setup .
Merry Christmas and happy new year to you as well! I greatly appreciate it, it’s hard to beat the ikon FBL! I love Vbar and been switching all my helis over but ikon is a proven FBL!
Just started flying my ix12 again after switching to vbar right around the time you did. Man I really love vbar as well just didn’t realize how much until using the ix12 again. Put my titan x50 back together and used an ikon as the flybar gyro. I wanted to convert it to fbl just so I could use my v control touch but didn’t want to mix match a like new basically vintage kit with an align head just to do so. Almost forgot how much went into dialing in a flybar head we got it so good these days
@@calank923 it’s crazy, I never thought I would like Vbar and always said “it’s just overpriced” nothing special…. Man I was wrong! Worth every penny! Helis just fly better! It’s crazy, unless you fly both or go back and forth it’s so hard to describe. I remember the days or spending countless hours setting up and getting a fly bar head right and flying perfectly. Definitely don’t miss it! Lol still got a few helis on fly bar but never fly them. You don’t have to go FBL to use a Vbar. There is two different ways. You can use a Vbar RX and it’s just a receiver no Gyro. Or get a regular Vbar and turn cyclic gain down to 0 all the way around it will just be a tail gyro at that point.
I upgraded mine from the $12 practice blades to RotorTech Ultimates, what a difference quality blades make! Floaty feeling vs the previous mush feeling. I got a set of the Performance RS4 blades and Vulcans in reserve that I haven't tried yet. I heard the Vulcans are similar to Azure (too bad they dont make 383 Azure) for a tight aggressive style. Now if only I could get Switch in 553 and 383.

I’ve got a set of the plastic blades, but never fly them. Those are great for beginning! When you first learned to fly, they are strong and will take a beating, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend flying 3-D with them. They can do it or just not great for that. Rotech makes a great blade as well! I’ve got a few different sets of them. I believe Azure makes a 383mm blade. I think I’ve seen them before? I’ve got a few sets of switch 383s that I run on my Speed 380. They are great blades as well.
Hi Jeff, just arfter a quick bit of advice if possible. So I've got the mikado classic tx and I'm wanting to get a touch tx, would you say in your opinion that the standard touch is ok or is the evo the better opinion. Its just the standard is way cheaper than the evo that's all. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks Jeff. Happy and safe flying buddy 👌
@@Rcheliguy so I fly a Touch, great radio! I do have a EVO coming I just got to see the difference and test some things for mikado. The touch is a fantastic radio and will do anything you want/need. The only problem is it’s older, so you can’t use the new mikado gimbals that are coming. But I’ve been told there will be a set for the Touch a little bit after the new ones come for the EVO. you can’t do some of the update stuff like you can with EVO and you don’t have the faster chips in the radio but in all honesty the Touch is all you need and I’ve been very happy with my mine! I still fly Vbar EVO FBLs with my touch.
@westhobbiesrc8051 Hi Jeff, absolutely brilliant info, just what I needed to hear, my friend. It's great to know that mikado will be bringing out new gimbels for the standard touch sometime in the near future. As you know, i dont fly hard 3d (yet), lol, but for me, i feel a touch would be a great step up in the hobby. My mikado classic is a good tx, but it's getting very old, and a new tx is now needed. Again, thanks for the info and advice. Can't wait for your next video. Happy and safe flying buddy.
Hello! So, I can’t comment on the TB40 as I’ve never built or flown one. I will say the RS4 Venom is great. Very low parts count being direct drive. Cheap to crash great flying machine. I have heard the TB40 has tail issues but I’m not sure on that.
I own both RS4 Venom and TB40 SC. Design wise and quality of parts the TB40 wins over the RS4. The carbon boom on the align does seem fragile. Ease of assembly and parts prices, the RS4 is a winner.
@@westhobbiesrc8051 There were some problems with the tail and the TB60 gear. I like Align for the availability of parts, but the quality has been getting worse. I'm going with the RS4
I would have bought one of these if the tail belt/pulley was mounted below the motor, so I went OMP M4 instead. I've replaced a couple of booms and was very happy about not having to pull the entire stack. Can anyone give me a good reason for this design choice?
i forgot about this little gem. once i get my orion all sorted and dialed in with the nexus i might have to pick up one of these for a practice heli.
