Coming to this late and wanted to say you make amazing stuff. Just adding that for a double ended barrel you could use a short piece of straw as a spacer inside to get hot glue to hold the two lids on.
Some of these older vid's are really starting to show their age 😅... but if they're still bringing folks to the channel (and more importantly, helping folks to get some terrain on the table), then they're still doing their job I suppose 🙂 (it's also good to hear, from your other recent comments, that you're still enjoying this stuff 👍)
2½ years on, and I just found this stuff. The way you do sacks is just delightful, although I think I might use a sewing scrap to cover mine rather than paper. Any road, I've been to DTRPG and downloaded many of your textures--I gave you 10USD for 13 files. If they work as well as I think they well, I'll go back for village stuff later. And I, too, wish you had some outdoor terrain--grass, dirt, a printed path, a rustic pool, rocks. It would go great with your trees, which I'm already planning to use for a goblin bandit ambush. Thanks for the fun!
This is how I got started 1 year ago. I found your blog and modified your 2.5D tileset to Cragmaw Castle. Then I made a bunch of scatter to fill it up. I fell in love and found the DM's Craft shortly after. Glad to see you on here spreading to a new audience! :)
You're absolutely right. Thanks for what you've done - and I hope to see more of your papercraft creations in the future. The simplicity and availability of materials are what made this so neat for me in the first place. Keep it up! :)
2:13 - my recommendation is to use wax paper/baking paper (the stuff we cook frozen pizzas on), as the glue doesn't really stick to it. (It also makes a great, cheap palette for acrylic paints and a nice base when working with epoxy glue, as that also doesn't stick to it.)
Wouldn't it be easier to put on the inside texture on the strip of cardboard tubing before making a barrel so you wont have to fight with it when its glued together?
I run an adventure league with 3 to 5 tables a week I have managed as a thank you to the DMs small sets of this your textures. I encouraged them to contribute some to the pdf you sell. Thank you so much for making out games a much better experience.
They loved them. I used the blocks you can get in the dollar Jenga blocks (2x1x1/2 finished) from dollar stores Like DM Scotties Easiest Mini-Furniture to be a little more durable this is a weekly store group I didn't want to risk cardboard. The pillars and barrel used half inch giant straws and packed them with sand to give them some weight. Also to seal them I sued mod podge then a coat of polyurethane spray.
As a bit of a stopgap measure you could increase the print size (to something like 200%) when printing the pdf (there should be a 'custom scale' option in adobe acrobat that'll let you do something like that :) ).
Great videos - new subscriber here. I’m considering a combination of both barrels - applying the decal inside & out, and both sides of the “lid” - when it’s searched, turn it over and the lid becomes the bottom...
I know it’s a bit of a faf but I’d be tempted to put a dowel slug in the closed barrel boss. It would enable you to square your ends and provide additional strength. (Well, that and a nice clear varnish to seal the textures). But I do get it, your system is about ease and speed with tools to hand in an average house. I apologise, I’m a bit of an over engineerer .
I've done something similar with the wood texture (from one of my later videos) and part of the brazier textures (again, from a later video) to make this: s19.postimg.cc/8rfkpsbab/treasure.jpg . So yeah, the textures can be quite versatile, and like you say, you could easily do something similar with the barrel texture (and if you come up with other ideas, be sure to post pictures if you get chance :) ...as I love to see other folks' creations).
This is awesome. I was looking for heroquest style items to snazz up Descent and Black Plague but it's all really expensive from what I found. So will deffo put these to use (once I get a printer 🤣)
As far as printers go, you don't need anything special. Mine was the cheapest I could find (a canon printer/scanner that cost £24 brand new) ...though it is rather loud :)

That's a nice idea. I'll try that next time I need to make a few. 👍
This is the youtube that I found you with, because I was looking on how to make sacks for a granary combat!

The place to come for learning how to manufacture your own dungeon.

Thanks for the kind words (and for picking up the files). Here's hoping they do work as well as you think (fingers crossed :) ).
The Sacks are amazing. Its crazy the stuff you can make from scratch.
Glad you like 'em :D

Yeah, I should have taken to UA-cam years ago (i.e. when I first started the project) ...but better late that never right? :)

This is such a good easy way to populate a warehouse wharf or store with nicely done sir.
Watered down white glue, seeps in a bit more, and dries thin, easier to get in the corners.

Yeah you're right ...and someone said something similar over on Facebook a while back - I just didn't think of it at the time :)
Awesome stuff. I can't wait to see your take on sci-fi accessories. thanks for making the vid.
Yes pls sci fi and cyberpunk pls
Great tutorial! Very well done.
Thanks :)
I keep wondering how you do this. Brilliant

That sounds great, I hope they (the DMs) get some good use out of them.

If you ever get chance to take a couple of photo's of them 'in action' ...I'd love to see how they turned out :)
Great video. thanks. Bigger barrels with a tap for a tavern would be a great addition

@@CrookedStaffTerrain Thanks for the tip
Simple and effective; great stuff.
Thanks for this new and easy way to build... your pdf helped a lot. Already subscribed 👍
No problem and thanks for the sub!
This is great, thank you. I've subscribed and will be looking through your other videos soon.
Thanks for the sub! Here's hoping that you find the rest of the videos useful too :)
Thanks CST.
I am going to enjoy watching all your vids, really great work. :)
Glad you like 'em!

That should work nicely :)

Yeah ...the system is (hopefully) a versatile one ...one where I can show the basic idea - and folks can take that idea, and run with it :)
So, as a bit of a though, you might be able to use the barrel texture to make a chest or two: or maybe a strong box.

05:53 Very tricky-most definitely. .
For US friends; a dime will be about the size of a 15mm washer.
Where do I find the pdf files to download?

Not sure about that ...but glad you liked the video :) :) :)
Im Untertitel wären cm Angaben gut. Mit Zoll kann ich wenig anfangen. Ansonsten sehr gute Videos
I might have to start using more metric measurements at some point :)
