As for the top of the shower try firecracker plant aka horsetail flower or Russelia . They worked for a friend in Hawaii with stone posts at the end. Nothing else would grow there and I got him some and they thrived as they are drought tolerant but do better with some dry season irrigation.
Vines are often called "rededores" (twiners). I like Pyrostegia venusta the flame vine. It attracts hummingbirds to its orange tubular flowers. The blue palm in the vid is Bismarka nobilia.
Murryea panaculata which is commonly available shrub in Costa Rica and it has while super fragrant flowers. I've seen then around in CA and a huge one in Libearia.
Thanks for your videos! Marco my husband bumped into you this morning, Samara is very nice and your videos helped me figured out a bit more how it would be like here...We want to stay longer in Samara very nice beach and village:) Hope we bump into you two again this week :)
We are glad our videos have been helpful to you both! Yes it was very nice to meet Marco and chat with him for a bit! Great choice on exploring Samara it is an amazing town and yes I'm sure we'll see you around! 😉
@@shaynadufresneyeah ive been watching ur videos long time ago coz i am so inlove with costa rica, i wish i could visit costa rica soon and stay in one of ur beautiful casa 🥰
🤣 you need some bacon with that plate of eggs! Now, that’s a question we forgot to ask today... is bacon easy to come by? That could be a deal breaker 😂
Again, thank you for a excellent Friday night mood boost after a week of work..😝 Do you mostly pay by cash on your regular smaller daily purchases? What SPF do you use, or did you forget? 😂
Haha you're welcome. In some situations cash is best, but we pay with credit card mostly. We've never used sunscreen as there are so many Chemicals in it that go directly to your blood stream, plus it blocks your vitamin D. We usually have more of a tan and we don't get as Red. We've both only peeled once since moving down but that was from an entire day in the sun
Great videos! So informative. If we're going to spend a week in Samara, does it make sense to rent an SUV for the whole time? Or just a couple of days and/or an electric golf cart for a few days? My car rental reservation (Adobe / Liberia) with the insurance is pretty pricey. Thanks for any advice!!! :)
Curious - how is it having little dogs there? Are you ever worried about letting them outside unleashed or unattended? Could they get swept up by birds of prey or other animals? We have a little dog and will be in CR in a few months. Thanks!!
I keep meaning to ask this question! Not sure if you’ve heard of Coyote Vests? They come in just collars as well. They vests may be too hot for CR. But I am planning to get one for our little dog when we bring her with us next time. It may be good for peace of mind sometimes. I thought it would help even with the large dogs at the beaches too! The vultures are pretty freaky lol! Cool looking though.
Vultures are like chickens, thay can't pick up anything and fly, plus they are scavengers and eat dead things that can't move. That's why you always see them eating on the ground
Thanks for the info!! I had no idea. I’ve heard stories here in Canada about hawks carrying off small dogs. I assumed vultures did the same. I just googled and read up on it.
@@TheDufresnes Hey Chris!. Yeah our landlord has one and it has gotten us around some pretty crazy and i mean crazy roads here around san Isidro, dominical and uvita. Lots of crazy rough mountain roads around here. Even down in the OSA . But i love the monteros also for size, especially for when the kids and grandbabies come to visit. ;_)
Looks great, thanks for the video!!
I'd also add anything that attracts hummingbirds. The flowers are tubular and often red, purple or orange.
You guys are really living life right!
Trying! 😊

Another great video. I do remember power outages.omg ago. And you had an earthquake after this video. BTW, what happened with the pool for seacasa?
Really? Didn't notice the earthquake. We haven't put a pool in yet, covid ate our savings so we have to save up again

Hey, How often does the power go out? Is internet and power reliable?
It's very rare in our area, when it does its usually a quick blip. Even this planned one doesn't happen often

Thanks, if you come stay with us at Sea Casa we offer 2 free bikes to use. A rental car is only needed if you plan to check out other areas near by.

Toyota's are always the most reliable, rav4s are the perfect size
