Our friends stayed at the Riu the first time they came, fell in love with Coco. Bought 2 condos and now want to move to samara because Coco has no community feel. Coco is a party town. Definitely check out Samara before you decide. You can book with us at Sea Casa www.seacasasamara.com and if you live it we could even build you a container home which is less expensive then a normal house

Hello, thanks for the down to earth info...My wife is from the Philippines and i am from the USA...we want to move to the USA but my wife is having a hard time with her Visa and here on this island there are issues with violence that we want to avoid. Costa Rica is our choice as Filipinos are welcome there with a 90 day visa and me from the USA it is visa friendly too, so we plan to come visit and spend a few months soon ( May) to see if we fit in...right now we are waiting on our baby boy to be born then we will come check out the area....it would be great to connect. Your videos have helped us relax a bit about visiting there....we are aware it is more expensive to live there but it will be worth it to be safe.

When I immigrated to USA from Costa Rica, I was always trying to get Americans friends, but my English was very limited, but I went to school, then I attended school and meetings where were always Americans, at least after years of living in USA now most of my friends are Americans, and I'm very grateful for that. @@lindsayrollin4291 jaco is super dangerous and from a Costarican standpoint full of sketchy people. There is a lot of prostitution, drugs and is viewed as a red light district or an extension of "El Rey" which is a hotel where some of the gentlemen go looking for fun and sometimes "love" as a few do end up getting married to the ladies they met there.
Most tico families wont even put a foot outside the resorts when they are there so im guessing that they dont want to expose their children.

Love your videos, but might I suggest microphones on you two. The talking is very muted/muffled, so I turn up the volume to hear you talk and then... the music plays... BOOM-BOW!!!! Super LOUD!! Just sayin...but love the video content.

Thanks, ya it's weird we do use a mic and I mix it with my headphones on but on a TV the music is still too loud. I would love to have lapel mics but for now I just need to get the balance right.

I disagree with OP, audio is fine. You don't need new mic(s). However, cut-ins with music are have incorrect audio levels. Pro tip, if you use Premier, add plug-in to lower volume on those specific clips. You are looking for consistent 6-7dB over the whole video.

The more i watch uyour videos the more i like you. LOL. I'm 74 semi retired{lol) and have had central America on the brain now for several years. I'm pretty sure i would love SAMARA.
If i decide to settle there, about how much would i pay for a 3 bedroom home? Nothing fancy. I'm not a millionaire. Also, when i come to visit, what months would be best, and why do most places only book for 28 days. I would like to stay like 3 months.
    Thanks in advance.

Just don't let SAMARA turn into a bunch of million dollar MCMANSIONS and gated communities. If they want to live like they do in the U.S. they should stay there. JMO
