I don’t do PSA, but I am lucky enough to work with a handler/decoy that does. I rescued a GSDx who had serious issues. She never blinked an eye at my dog’s behaviors, and gave me so much confidence. She has helped me so much.
Great video
Will some form of tracking or trailing ever be a part of PSA do you think?
I don’t think so
Would a building search be a comparable exercise? 😗
What's the reasoning behind that?@@PatStuart
@@5BReiningHorses I certainly don’t want to speak for Jerry or the other directors who would have a hand in making that decision, but I think the biggest barrier to that is the availability and limitations of suitable places to hold trials. Locations to track under trial conditions is a pretty significant barrier to holding events in the sports that already have it. American schutzhund went with a detection based scent test for dogs for that reason. The similar attribute can be assessed but it a smaller and more easily controlled environment.
Also I think it’s fair to say, it’s just not part of the game. All games are different. If testing their dogs tracking ability is important to someone there’s avenues for them to train and test for that away from PSA, there’s no restrictions on what other activities people can do with their dogs.
This sounds like chaos, not fun
