Great video. I love the level you are teaching - people who know a bit, so aren’t beginners, but not experts by any means. It really helps to advance and deepen knowledge without getting overwhelmed. There were many great points raised here to remember!
Q4 at 22:00 - some context to my question - I had to teach my bull arab how to play fetch and used my kelpie x to teach the game. He loves to parade and she loves the chase so no issues however I give her a bunch of wins by having him hold a sit/stay. I have another dog that loves to play tug so there is a certain homeostasis between drives. What I have noticed recently is once the ball is thrown the only dog that is totally engaged in me is the kelpie. Makes sense as I'm the source of the fun for her but the others are getting their reward from incidental things. I'll definitely change things up and it makes complete sense. appreciate the feedback.
Hi team. Love the content! Question for next video: Puppies reacting/ big feelings to other dogs or humans. Can you go into more details on technique and play by play how you deal with it. Thanks and looking forward to hearing. Josh Blau.
Thanks for answering my 3 questions!! I decided to use the word aqui as my recall word, and I thought it might be nice to know what language it was and what it meant (in case it was a swear word I was unknowingly shouting in public….😂) but it’s nice cause I won’t over use it or accidentally say it in everyday life :) Also some context on my parvo question. I will definitely ask the vets but it’s very looked down on to take puppies anywhere here before their vaccines. so I’m a bit concerned when I do get a puppy down the road if I’m just going to be told don’t do it cause of the risk when I agree with you both about the socialization period being very important. So I’ll do my research on that. And luckily I have a trainer I will use here that has the same mind set as you both. But I just wasn’t sure if vets were the only place to find out about if parvo is in your area etc. Looking forward to more videos!!

Thanks for the feedback. That’s exactly what we’re trying to achieve.
So glad you remembered what you meant to say Jas! That's a really great point and reminder
Thanks both. Great content, awesome work.

Can the pat n Jas show become a regular podcast? 👀
😬
1:03:19 Do you ever get people asking to train high drive dogs to only be pet dogs, e.g “snuffing” out the drive?

What does flooding a dog mean or look like?
Good question. I think maybe the best way to answer is in the next video. I don’t want to reduce it to something too basic here.
Wow he was great on the train, ignoring people.
