In a word, phenomenal. Scorpions were a great band. The Roth era from the 70's being my favourite. Ulrich Roth is an amazing guitarist with an effortless style that is fantastic to watch and listen to.
@@stefancolwell63 You really aren't paying attention, are you?? I said he says "You Like Michael Schenker, you like Mattias Jabs" and he DOES sing that right here... ua-cam.com/video/fvavgURunm0/v-deo.html
In high school I kept track of Scorpions & UFO so when Strangers in the Night came out & Tokyo Tapes, man, that was pure heaven to me,great music, years & Memories,it takes me back everytime just like you! thank you for stoping by & comment my friend!
Scorpions have always delivered awesome music whether it be from the band's 70's era up until the present. Tasty lead guitar, catchy guitar riffs and Klaus's spectacular vocal style and range have made me a fan of the band since hearing 'No One Like You' back in 1982 as a 12 year old learning guitar. I'm a Scorpions fan for life!
At 1:30 right after Uli's short solo Klaus comes in with a little improvisation singing what sounds to me like "You like Michael Schenker" How awesome not to forget if it's what he said.
@@MrFrikkenfrakken If that's true I'm impressed at how he managed to fit the whole phrase in what sounds like two syllables: "You like *bla-bla* my friend!" 😳
Klaus' voice is still in increbile shape! I think Uli should have rejoined the band full time...or at the very least, Michael and Uli should have been heavily featured on their final world tour.
With Uli on board Scorpions were a different band. They were a two-faced band because the songs composed by Uli were different from the songs written by Rudolf. I like Rudolf's songwriting better, but Uli 's solos are so cleverly constructed and to-the-point that they take the band to a higher level. This is 2006 and the band has evolved a lot. The only thing that will never change is the way Klaus sings in a language that he invented back in the seventies. I think it's called "Germlish"...
You're welcome ,us that come from that time ,we get better with age ,like good wine!! ;)... I appreciate for taking the time to post your comment, thank you!
Absolutely fucking incredible. To see guitarists of the caliber of Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs having to take a back seat to someone is incredible. Ulrich Roth is one of the greatest guitarists who ever lived and is just as good at grandpa age as he was in his 20s. I was a little thrown off seeing Rudolf with the blond crop-top. He looks like the twin of his brother Michael Schenker. In fact I spent the first couple of minutes watching this video wondering why Michael Schenker and not his brother Rudolf was playing rhythm guitar for the Scorpions. I guess after all those years Rudolf got tired of the waist-length hair. I don't blame him. Long hair is a real pain in the ass. Edit: That IS Michael Schenker, not Rudolf Schenker. You can clearly hear Klaus Meine name him. Where the hell is Rudolf Schenker? Also, the people currently editing the Wikipedia page for Rudolf Schenker need to go clear the entry up because they've clearly got pictures of the two brothers mixed up. Admittedly, with his hair now cut short Rudolf Schenker is difficult to tell from his brother Michael, but the difference matters to anyone who's a fan of guitar rock from this era. The difference being Rudolf is the guy who has been the rhythm guitar backbone of the Scorpions from the very beginning, one of the greatest rhythm guitarists in rock history. Oddly enough, he's quite as capable of shredding leads as any great lead guitarist but has usually been content to play that metronomic crunching rhythm guitar and let other guitarists step out front. His brother, Michael, on the other hand was always something of a lead-guitar prodigy who is one of the most talented leads ever. But by all reports mercurial and hard to work with. For being as talented as he is Michael Schenker has been kicked out of more great bands -- the Scorpions (twice), UFO, etc. -- than probably any other guitarist. I recall that Michael Schenker was apparently so disgusted when Eddie Van Halen's solo "Eruption" made such a huge impact on the rock world that Michael released his own solo instrumental -- the title escapes me -- that was so fast and intricate that it made Van Halen's effort look like some old guy strumming guitar up on stage at the Grand Ole Opry. To just go ahead and say it, between Roth and the Schenkers, the Scorpions has been blessed with so much guitar talent it's kind of left Matthias Jabs in the position of being the most underappreciated lead guitarist in the world. Believe me, when he's not being polite and hanging back like he is here he's as good as any lead guitarist in any band in history. 80 to 90% of the Scorpions's success has been with him as lead guitarist and he's no slouch. But I have to say, if I was the world's second best guitarist I'd still be content to just stand there and strum if it meant I could be on stage with Ulrich Roth. The man really is phenomenal.
This was fun, but I feel the Tokyo Tapes version from 78 is far superior and Roths playing on that album is brilliant, especially on Speedy's Coming....
from looking at all the negative comments on other people's videos I've see, you get bored real quick,, why don't you post your own video & that might might make you happy!! since you sound like you are very talented ....at complaining ,of course!! I hope when you do upload your videos , you won't have some jackass coming in & talk trash!
I think TinyCat is complaining because he has a Tiny Cat between his legs, and needs to compensate by pretending to be a Big Man on UA-cam. Am I right - or am I right, Tiny Cat? Poor boy. These giants of metal will ALWAYS be bigger men than you. So sad.
Who's still rockin this in 2024?😎👍
It s me 🎸🎸🎸
Pero cómo tocaba Roth!! Vaya discurso maravilloso.
E incrível como depois de todos esses anos o Klaus ainda tem um vocal impecável
RIP James Kottak.
Uli was and will always be the most badass guitarist the Scorpions ever had!!
no doubt at all
the drum beat is so powerful. Why is it not mentioned here?
He did it just like Jürgen Rosenthal

Uli and Matthias, 2 underrated super guitar players.
This song is kind of punk before there was punk, and then with the incredible lead playing on top of that 🥰
Imagine if they had Herman, Francis and Michael up there with them doing this. A dream come true. 😎
He says "You Like Michael Schenker, you like Mattias Jabs"!!! wow, hahaha
Klaus deve ter ficado com pena deles, sabe q o Uli coloca os dois no chinelo kkkk

Only Uli's extra frets guitar can master solo on this song. Not played much without him.
Good of Mr. Jabbs to step back and let Uli star in the show.
