He should've used a chlorinated bleach spray on the stones and then power washed to kill the mold spores and brighten the cement. There's another youtuber that does patios, sidewalks and almost anything with his commercial grade power washer but it has a big pressure sprayer that he says has a 30%? or 40% chlorine mixture in it and he sprays that in the stone and cement and let's it soak for a few minutes. He then power washes it down and then repeats at least one more time. The end product is jaw dropping and looks newly poured. He talks a lot about mold spores and why you need to use bleach and how his mixture won't kill off the lawn or plants.
After watching his videos and then this one, this guy hardly did anything.

That is such a gorgeous pool with the shades of blue tile! I emptied my pool, to have it filled in, then COVID happened. I didn't want folks in my yard, needed to have a fence replaced at the same time, as the heavy machinery would have to come through there...it still isn't done. The deep end has collected a bit of monsoon rains and not had time to evaporate in our Arizona heat, yet, so it is black and very gunky and horrible looking. Hopefully I'll be able to get it filled in and a tree or two planted, in a year or so! Mine never looked this pretty! That tile makes it so beautiful!! Great job!! Happy memories waiting to be made once more.

bloody well done on this mate. I work for compass-pools, so watching you bring back the art/design of the craftsman what design these pools is amazing. the amount of time, skill it takes to actually design a pool like this is insane! , especially ceramic ones! it's disheartening to see them get to this stage as it's so avoidable and very easy to keep on top of it. any top pool installation companies will always supply the relevant info you need to keep it clean etc. but they are high maintenance here in the UK due to the weather. I noticed that the owners were very elderly so I would assume either one of them become ill or in hospital/and or had something happen in their life's for it to be this bad.

Being in the exterior cleaning business myself, I'd love to have a crack at a pool, looks a really rewarding job once finished, however I would use a 20" surface cleaner for the paving and a 12" for the pool tiles, would massively speed that side of the job up, plus I'd also softwash with sodium hypochlorite the whole pool and paving areas, super quick and effective through a Dosatron unit.
    Great job tho 👏

My guy, invest in a solid pressure washing unit. You shouldn’t have to scrub with a brush excessively. Get a solid 4GPM 3500-4000psi unit and use some SH with a surfactant to clean with. I woulda had that whole thing sprayed down in a couple hours. There is no way around scooping that gunk out though haha nice work!

If you watched until the end, grandma is really, really a grandma. She is very frail and old. And her own kids are very old looking as well. It would make sense that her kids probably didn’t know what to do and it might have been the husband (grandpa) was the one taking care of it and he had passed. So it wasn’t the priority. And at that point, it was too late. You don’t have the right to judge these people. They were almost in tears seeing this. Obviously there was a reason this happened. Shame on you.
