    Do you have a favorite business book that you think should be added to the list?

      Hey Rick, I have a question for you. I have a day job where I spend 12 hrs a day. I have only 5-6 hrs a day hardly to wrk in my startup. I have almost all the books that you recommend and few books that u didn't. But the problem is I love studying these books(I won't jus read it, I implement all the advice and homework in my startup and product design). If I spend 2 hrs a day for studying then I get only 3 hrs a day to work on my startup. But the lessons , advice and tactics that I get from the books are really really improving the product and the way v think of our company.

      @@sujeeshnair8184 - I don't have a lot of experience with those books, but one that I enjoyed a number of years ago was Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh of Zappos. It's not 100% about just customer service, but does talk a lot about the value of having great service. Hope that helps!

    Awesome Job! Loved the list! Finally someone who recommends books based off of lots of experience reading different opinions and different perspectives, and then compiling a comprehensive list of which books are best! Instead of only listing books for getting money off Amazon links. With having little to no knowledge about the books they recommended Happily left a like!

    Personally, I didn't like The Lean Startup that much but "Start With Why" is very good.

      I didn't really like The Lean Startup after I first read it many years ago. I think it was just the wrong timing, but upon revisiting it more recently it's become one of my favorites. A very solid foundation for building a startup.

    By any chance, would you recommend any of these books to build a Fortune500 Company?:
    - Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion (Robert Cialdini)
    - Screw Business as Usual (Richard Branson)
    - Never Split the Difference (Chris Voss)
    - Zero to One (Peter Thiel)

    • @RickKettner
      @RickKettner  3 роки тому +1

      You probably can't go wrong by reading any of them (although I haven't read the one by Richard Branson yet). No one book will make or break your success, but without reading any the path will be much longer. Best to just start reading and see what topics/themes interest you most.

    Do you know any book that can allow me to create a business plan & structure ( step by step) for small business start-up? - Chico

    • @RickKettner
      @RickKettner  3 роки тому +2

      In my opinion, full business plans are overrated as it's impossible to predict much in business today (unless your business is a franchise of an existing model).
      A better approach is to use something like The Lean Startup process to define unknowns, and test/validate them early and often. I have a reading list covering Startup books that can provide further help. Check my channel if for that list if you're interested in learning more.

    Can you please recommend some book on business planning. I am a student.

    • @RickKettner
      @RickKettner  3 роки тому

      What kind of business are you interested in building. I would probably steer more towards startup concepts vs. "business planning" as the approach is more flexible. For example, books like The Lean Startup or The Start-Up J Curve can help you understand how to turn an idea into a business with minimal wasted time/effort.
