G'day everyone. Arthur from Arthur's Cruises.
New Series - This is a 19 night cruise to New Zealand from Adelaide to Adelaide. Stopping at Kangaroo Island, Port Lincoln, Melbourne x2, The Fjords, Dunedin (Pt Chalmers), Christchurch (Lyttelton), Wellington, Napier, Tauranga & Auckland.
Day 10 - Christchurch
Me, my Aunty and travel partner catch the shuttle bus from Lyttelton into Christchurch.
After they decided to toa city tour on the back of a V8 Trike Motor bike. I headed into the city center and look around the city hoping to do the hop on hop off tram tour around the city sights. Only to find that the City Tram Tour proved to very popular with the cruise passengers from both ship.
So a change of plans, walking around the city center, finding a coffee shop with good food and coffee, I caught up with family and friends via messenger and video calling.
I then explored the city area, visit an indoor market, swing past the cathedral that was damaged by the 2011 earthquake. Christchurch in still rebuilding from the earthquake, with lot of new buildings among the old buildings. however my interest was peaked when I saw many murals, street art on the buildings and the cool vide the city is offering.
After spending some time in the city I head back to Lyttelton to look at the local artisan market that was been held, before heading back onboard.

You can also catch the local bus which will take you into Christchurch city for under $3.00
That's for that tip. We thought to do that but where told by the local port authorities that it wasn't recommended as it would create issues for the locals and there wasn't any guarantee that the local service would get us back in time.

Not a good idea. Overcrowding on local buses has caused problems for locals trying to get to school and work.
2:26 Mate you got ripped shuttle bus return is only $15 AU each purchased on board
Unfortunately, we didn't have the option to purchase on board. Hence why many passengers were frustrated at the situation and the way princess handled it. Princess Cruises seems not to care about passengers who didn't purchase shore excursions.
They made that very clear.
