While my heart goes out to those that have lost homes & business's their elected Gov's have blown off legitimate response to these necessities in the battle to save pennies for decades. It's been over 20years since the Kelowna Firestorm of 2003 & nearly 20yrs since Premier Gary Filmon's Kelowna Firestorm Report that called for more fire mitigation efforts in the Interface Zone's & adjacent forested area's, more fire fighters, more equipment, removal slash by harvesters, etc., etc.. It like many before it & all after covered all these things as well as newer & larger Super Scooper fleet's! After the Beast of Ft. Mac another report was sponsored, came to the same conclusions & pointed out the result were the same as the Filmon report & every single one in Canada since! Alberta to their credit leased two more Super Scoopers for this season but hasn't acquired any more. Obviously interface zone & adjacent forest fuel mitigation isn't happening anywhere near enough.

Great to hear the government will help in Jasper - but I'll bet they still won't feed the homeless - the disabled will still starve - get those taxpayers workin' again....
At my most generous, is that not exactly what it would be for?? When you pin leftwingers into a corner to justify it they always defer to the rebate (the one that makes rhe tax meaningless) and never mention things like this
