Great video! I bought this mount almost a year ago and today I mustard up the courage to install it. This "do it yourself" kind of wife, DID IT with prayers of God guiding my hands for success. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video. Not to mention a great hidden mount.
Thanks for watching. I am so glad you were able to do the Install and love your mount!! I am not sure the exact phone you have but I ended up doing an update video switched out the magnets on the factory mounts for MagSafe mounts for my new I phones..
Thanks for watching. Yeah between my wife and I we are on house #3. We came from the city and once someone was killed in a drive by the next street over we decided to move way out. Most criminals don’t want to spend $20 in gas to get all the way out here…
I just got my mount this morning. I found your video after searching for additional install video. I’m a little nervous, but after watching your video, I’m a lot more confident. Thank you! I cannot wait to install it on my 2021 Ram 1500. And yes!!! I have clicked the liked button and subscribed! hahhaha 😎 great video!
Thank you so much for the like and subscribe. How did the install go? All I can say is that I love the mounts and they seems really sturdy! How are you liking your ram?
Thanks for watching. Awesome a fellow power wagoneer!! I have other good power wagon content on the channel. Feel free to like and subscribe!! Thanks again.
Thanks for your honesty about the magnets. I had to send this system back. My phone kept spinning sideways. I had the top bracket where you took out the torx screws. The bracket was thin and flimsy which created vibration. I thought this system was overpriced also.
Thanks for watching. Is m not sure what part of my video helped you I love the system. I just put one drop of lock tite in the screw and never has it spun again..I still have mine and love it. My brackets feel stout..I did an update to mi e system here is the link…ua-cam.com/video/TU5LyqF3iLM/v-deo.html
It looks like you have the charging mount plugged in to the 12v AC outlet on right hand side below the center instrument panel. Have you tried using either of the 2 USB-A or 2 USB-C ports on the left hand side below the center instrument panel? Reason I ask is because I have the MagSafe charging mount from course motorsports and when I plug it in to the USB ports on the left, it works only intermittently but if I plug it in to the AC outlet or any other USB port in the truck it works just fine. Trying to see if anyone else has any issues with it. TIA.
Thanks for watching. The charging magnetic mount is a sour spot for me as of now. I actually removed it and just have two of the standard magnetic mounts. I called the company and they told me the charging mount requires like 2.5 amps or something close to that so the only way to get is to use the dc plug on the top of the dash. That is just what I was told and it seemed to be the case when I tested it..I believe the type c runs it as well..
Has it been confirmed if it works on the usb c? Does the unit come with a usb c plug, or would you need an adapter? Just to confirm you are talking about the unit you installed on the passenger side
Thanks for watching. I have since making this video switched to two magnet only mounts and ditched the charging style. However I did run the wire between the black rubberized/plastic piece and the plastic screen bezel. I just pushed it between those two and it hides it well..
Thanks for watching. Lol it doesn’t you still would have to connect the power directly to the USB port. I like my magnet mount the best, I just plug it in when I need to.
Thanks for watching. Technically you can as long as you install the magnet plate exactly in the center of the phone. You can’t do horizontal with the unit that is on the passenger side that charges.
Has anyone had problems with the Charger? I got it installed in the truck and when my phone goes in grabs it starts charging and the releases and stops charging. It does this over and over again? Tried with multiple phones no case on them. Vehicle is a 2019 Ram Limited
Thanks for watching. I really didn’t notice a problem until a few days after the install. Try using your cigarette lighter charger. I called and asked about it and they said the unit requires 2.5 amps were the USB ports only put out 2.4…let me know if that works..
I could use some help on this. I have not been able to get the bracket in place. It seemed like you slid it right on the passenger side. I wish I could see how. Mine won’t go on for nothing. Seem to be things blocking and no where to slide it on. Been trying for a while now🤬 no customer number nor response.
I believe in the video I did show the back of the screen when I was installing the bracket. There is a little tray looking thing that the bracket slides onto and stops. It was the same on both sides in my truck.
Initially I ran the wire down the seam were the dash meets the screen bezel surround… then after a short time I ended up getting rid of the auto closing/charger base and put two magnet on mounts like the one on my drivers side..
Here is the link to the products for our trucks. I removed my charging one and am just running two magnetic mounts now.. coursemotorsports.com/collections/dodge/products/direct-fit-magnetic-phone-mount-dodge-ram-1500-2500-3500-4500-5500-2019-new-body-with-12-screen
I ordered these and was so excited to get them installed with the wires hidden UNTIL I FOUND THIS OUT: FIRST: the USB ports at the bottom right of the display DO NOT provide enough power to charge magnetically. That means I have to somehow run a cable to another spot for power. SECOND: I realized that those two ports are the two needed for Android Auto and A**le Car Play so they can't be used for these units anyway if you want to utilize those features. THIRD: The ONLY "cig lighter" 12v socket is on the top of the dash in that tray. NO WAY to truly hide a wire up there, unless you drill through the bottom of the tray (I think). So disappointed! (Still thinking of a solution though. I guess I could run more hidden wires that will hang out from the dash to be used for Android Auto. One for the charger and one for AA...) Note: I have a Laramie with the console. There are four USB charging ports below the screen, two USB and two USB-C. There is a wireless charger (of all things) but my phone doesn't fit in it. Then, there's a 110V plug down there.
Yeah I was so exited during the install the unit seemed to work initially. But I found out the same thing. I now just have two on the magnetic only units and run a usb cord to the phone when I need to…
@@GReviewz I'm using it now. I got a case with the 'mag safe' back for my Pixel. I do love how clean the look could be once I route the cable properly. I love how easy it is to set the phone in place. I formerly used a Ram X-mount (?) - the kind you had to spread open with one hand while putting the phone in with the other. I bought a USB-C corn with 90-degree ends on it. I MIGHT run it from the 12-v supply on the top of the dash, trhough a hole I'll drill in that tray up there, and then it will be super clean. I have found that it does not charge very well. It seems that in the short trips I've made, the phone does not charge much. That has me nervous.
I used to use a phone mount, but I found that it blocked the air vents. I just decided to default to the rams built in phone holder and use android auto of apple carplay
Thanks for watching. It physically can swivel but the side arms are just meant to hold it on not the weight of the phone. However the magnet mount on my drivers side can be put horizontally no problem as long as you put the magnet plate center of your phone..
Thanks for watching. I have removed the units to check my dash because I was concerned as well but the dash is fine. I mean if the mounts stay there for years it may but mounts are not sharp at all.
Thanks for watching. I’m sorry for leaving that part out. I forgot to mention that the install of the passenger side unit is exactly the same as the drivers side. The mount is installed the same and the backside of the wireless charger holder is exactly the same as the magnetic mount.. I hope that helps.
