Nice and simple, cool video. Removing the heat shielding can make it a little easier to get in there, but you don't have to. The torque spec from the Haynes manual (thermostat housing bolts, DOHC engine) is 15 Ft-lbs or 21 Nm, so yes, you have to be nice and gentle. If you don't have a small torque wrench, just snug 'em up and then give em a little extra nudge. Check for looseness and leaks after the first few trips.
@@NKPGarage an entire resto!? Like off frame shit!? It's been my daily commuter for 4 years so I would have loved to do that. Maybe one day. But I wanna get another dream car in a couple years so we will see.
@@JoonRhee If I had the garage space I would definitely take the body off and do a full frame off restoration. Unfortunately I'm working in the garage, so it will be pretty much everything except a frame off. Currently I have the entire interior stripped except the dash, quite a bit is out of the engine bay. Just got the head back from the machine shop and will be working on that soon. And I have just started planning out the turbo build, fuel system, and other mods. So I guess it'll be more of a "resto-mod".
That makes total sense! Thanks for that knowledge! Who would've thought of making such a cool device! Yet another awesome thing thanks for that comment!
