I am 68 and fortunate enough to have seen most all of the iconic live bands. This was my first Cure concert and I was blown away. Fantastic concert. Unforgettable.
It’s surreal….I mean I just can’t believe how unique his voice is to begin with and to have it be so crystal clear still after so many years and so many shows is just Unbelievable!
How in the world can he sound as good or better than 30 years ago. He literally could put this straight to the radio, no studio needed at all. Just wow! Thanks for so many memories!
I saw them last night in Salt Lake. Unbelievably awesome show. RS’s voice was as great or better than it’s ever been. The sound was lush and they are all masters of their instruments. Jason Cooper was incredible, drumming away for almost 3 hours. Almost every song was better than the recorded version. Incredible.
Ooooh. Respect to you my friend. The cure yes!But Chameleons UK just re bought all three albums on repress. Dreadfully underated. One of the best post punk/proto goth bands ever xx🙏♥️
@ChristopherCreek-dr4ts oh, man, yes. I only had one friend who knew the Chameleons in 1996 and heard them on a scratched cassette in his car. I had to get every CD at the used record store immediately. That hard to describe eerie warbling echo." . I am glad he is happy and alive and enjoying music still. Gotta say, it is pretty darn heavy. What a great voice, too.
Robert released this song in 1989 and still sings it with a high level of emotion. The lyrics certainly have deep meaning to him. One of the greatest songs ever.
Don’t know you but I was having the same dream, hanging with my dorm bros, drinking a few getting ready to head out to the bars for the 2 for 1 drinks that I think were $2. 😅. Just lost one of my dorm boys last month. Where the hell did that time go.
Have to live on a desert island with one album--it'd be Disintegration. This is my favorite song to ride on long, long bicycle rides, too :) Bless, everyone :)
'If only I'd thought of the right words I could have held onto your heart. If only I'd thought of the right words I wouldn't be breaking apart' Just love it!
Coming from someone in his 50's, what a blessing it has been to have your knack of song and melody in my life Mr. Smith. Thankyou. One of a kind you are.
We were front row center in Vancouver the following night and it was so amazing and surreal and the best concert I've ever been too. This song makes me think of every boy I had a crush on in 1986 HS and daydreaming about them asking me to prom...and they never did of course. So it's dreamy, and kinda sad, and now those boys are all unrecognizable. So all I have now are Pictures of You to remember them by.
A dream show for me. I can't believe they played nearly 3 hours, and I was there for all of it, viewing from the 3rd row/floor. Thank you for uploading.
Robert went to see someone when he was a youngster they were only on stage for about 40 minutes, he swore then that he would never short change his fans. I believe the Cure have been known to do 4 hour shows. I once saw them only do 2 hours and was disappointed by that
Saw them in Chicago on the 10th. It had been almost 30 years and not a lot changed. They are still soooooo good. This song will never get old. Thanks for posting. 😊
No kidding!!! I saw that too and was looking for someone to have made a comment. Hooray for you and for Robert Smith! I saw The Cure in Atlanta on June 27. My daddy's birthday, may he rest in peace. I have loved this band forever. Class act.
I wasn't a huge Cure Fan back in the day. But I must say it's nice to see the music from a time when music was made by people with instruments, and actual human voices having a resurgence! I can absolutely appreciate the Cure now!
wow Robert still sounds the same as ever. that is really cool. I wish I could see them live, always has been one of my most favorite bands.noone sounds like them.
They sound great even on a phone microphone. That’s the mark of a great sound and band. So many groups suck live. If you sound as good live as you do on the album (or better) then you’re real musicians. These gents are that. One of the greatest bands of all time.
I've loved the Cure since I first heardA Forest all those years ago a great Cure track and he's gone back to it many times but there's a live version circa 1981 I believe and imo? It's the best version!❤🎸😎👍
Was there at the time but so much music I never gave them there due. But in 2024 these guys are really the real deal. Thank god for bands that play instruments and Robert Smiths voice. New music drops soon and would love to see them live..
I got to see them in Denver and it was absolutely epic. They played for almost 3 hours and I thought it was incredible that we got to hear new songs after all the years of listening.
Robert says “Hello again, it’s been a long time since we’ve been here-here. The last one was a fucking nightmare. The Gorge show aaah, one of my worst memories and I don’t have many. Shh I’ll talk later. “ I was at that Gorge show in 96 and it was amazing. I wonder if it was a nightmare being out in the middle of a dusty nowhere? From reading other comment, looks like maybe technical issues was the reason. That makes sense. Great show regardless ❤
I was at the Gorge show as well and it was one of the best nights of my life... It was my first Cure show and it amplified my love for this band exponentially. I so wish I could know what Robert is referring to!
I was there, too. First Cure show. Also their inability to finish "Want" is legendary. Mic failures, wind blowing the curtains, etc. But it was a fantastic night. Great show last week, too. They still sound phenomenal.
I love seeing Robert Smith performing as a happy old dude. I felt the same way about the aging Bowie. No longer overly self aware, just relaxed and genuine.
i saw the cure in Belgium in at a festival in the late 80s or 90 -91 with Lenny kravitz, midnight oil, wendy and lisa, and a few i cant remember..it was totally muddy...and crowded...i have pics. i was a model based in Spain i was dating Carrie Ann Moss..good times.!
One of the rare singers who sounds the same today as when I first listened to this song in 1989.
This could easily be one of the greatest 10 songs of all time. Timeless.
Robert Smith
Agree. A Forest is timeless as well.

@@JustLikeHeaven77 strange taste, dude, i agree with some of them

What's to disagree with? Even if you don't like the song, it doesn't mean that it's not an anthem song.
@@JustLikeHeaven77 i mean, your list is very eclectic
Just a wonderful awesome concert!! And they played for 3 hours. Robert's voice was still spot on!!❤❤
Jason Plymette, get out ! 3 hours! I’m gonna be so excited when I see them in CLE on Sunday! Can’t f*ckn wait🖤
It was a most excellent show, for sure!
He is so good and his voice is still amazing!

me too
me tooo!!!!!!!
I am 69 and I approve this message.
I'm late to the party at 68, but WOW, wish I'd been there - was mentally comparing to P. FLoyd
They sound better live than the album!!
Most groups sound better on a album...But The Cure is an exception!
Loved the three concerts I went to!
I was at this show. When I realized that his voice really has stayed the same, I almost cried!
It’s surreal….I mean I just can’t believe how unique his voice is to begin with and to have it be so crystal clear still after so many years and so many shows is just Unbelievable!
One of those songs that just never gets old. Like Roberts voice. Just incredible!
Robert smiths voice never changes
Remarkably well preserved, isn’t it? Such a gift.
That’s what I said too!👌
Amazing
How in the world can he sound as good or better than 30 years ago. He literally could put this straight to the radio, no studio needed at all. Just wow! Thanks for so many memories!
I'm amazed too. He sounds exactly the same.. incredible.
30 years of practise and voice coaching..

Robert Smith and the Cure, What can you say? Robert is the only band member that sings. All those years, just amazing.
I'm 76 and have listened since 1988. The Cure and the Chameleons UK are my favorite bands. Lush sound, complex, Erie, thick, beautiful.
Ooooh. Respect to you my friend. The cure yes!But Chameleons UK just re bought all three albums on repress. Dreadfully underated. One of the best post punk/proto goth bands ever xx🙏♥️

✨🌟…And just like that I am back in the dorms, hanging out with candles and conversation and the Cure playing in the background. Magic 🌟✨

Um... 34 YEARS after the album 'Disintegration' came out, Robert's vocals sound the EXACT same; incredible! I'm left speechless.
Have to live on a desert island with one album--it'd be Disintegration. This is my favorite song to ride on long, long bicycle rides, too :) Bless, everyone :)
Second that
Luv that Amen
Isn’t it really amazing?? They’ve been around for at least 40 years and they sound better than ever!! Love them! 👍🎼🥁
the voice is still perfect only true The Cure fans understand🙂

The longing in this song is just… exquisite.

His voice hasn't changed at all over the years.
Was at Chicago show. Best concert I've ever seen in my entire life.
Robert Smith of The Cure and Richard Butler of The Furs are the voices of my generation.
Just saw the Furs in Tallahassee, Cure next in Tampa!
Saw The Cure in Clarkston MI on June 13 and they were AMAZING! Concert of a LIFETIME for me!! Fantastic show!

Haunting beautiful, brings back memories of a time of my friends. I miss the good times with them 😪
sounds just like he did when they released this song. what an amazing voice.
The lyrics of this song is delicately engineered. The emotions of every line were so intense.
His voice sounds wonderful!
Proud to saw they in Milan in October 22
This song will live on FOREVER. I never get tired of listening to this song. Amazingly BEAUTIFUL.
Icons - true Icons. 0% Auto-Tune, 100% real musicians.

Sorely lacking today.

Saw them in Tampa, with the love of my life. It was our 2nd date after losing each other for 35 years. Couldn’t be more perfect
Not a big fan of the cure but credit where credit is due. His voice is still spot on.
