Suggest for 4k is to get yourself a DSLR / EOS mirrorless camera such as Canon M50 or SONY A6000 and a RODE microphone or other mic. Cost for a good 4K setup can be $800 to $2,000. Streamlabs OBS is excellent for Streaming Video and recording in 4K and can be used for Twitch, You Tube and other sites. OBS is Free to download and use. I don't know why this happens, but every single webcam sucks, including this on, ,and for the price, it's basically a robbery. The video quality is just appalling each & every time. @Sataniel Gaming He said that you get much brighter and much better colours coming through he is referring to the 4k webcam. Also the room he is in doesn't look the most lit. The quality on the right side looks like the contrast is just higher and darker with slightly less quality. I'm sure on a 720p or 1080p screen the darker looks more eye catching but this is not the actual case. Sorry not sorry. Also he never set the white balance in the video on the webcam on the left. If you don't do that it gets wonky and can look weird, I have both cameras and the 4k is way better.
Hi Justin, just watched your video. Can you please help us, we’re looking for a webcam to run off a Sony 4K TV for FaceTime our son and new granddaughter between the UK and Australia. Do you know if this is compatible with the TV please? Thanks
I don't trust this review. You can get better quality in the same price from a mobile phone. The quality is pathetic and there are black patches of waves visible when I tried C922. In low light you just see a dark ghost. I would rather use my IPhone SE with Camo app to get much better quality
Personally, I think the quality of the camera is terrible. Save your money. Even a cheap or used GoPro will give you a better shot. if you want to stay in the 150-300 dollar price range.
I noticed using Quicktime, the difference between the 922 and the Brio were subtle. Using Ecamm live however, the Brio offers a much better resolution - really happy with the upgrade. I'm using a Mac by the way!
Hi I’ve just bought a 2019 Mac Pro 16 Core with 48GB RAM and the highest Graphics Card, the Mac arrives in 3-4 weeks. I know absolutely bugger all when it comes to webcams but all I know is I want to record in 4K in low light and I’m disabled so I can’t touch the actual webcam once it’s set up. I’ll change settings through the computer though. I won’t know until I get my new Mac Pro but the idea is to cam me playing games, I’d like some sort of fiery hell background but no idea yet as I’ve never owned a webcam. I also play guitar in a rock band so I often record guitar jams at home on my iPhone but I’m also thinking of recording on my iPhone but use the webcam as a different view shot then edit both shots in Final Cut Pro X, I’m completely guessing that is possible? ... Also I’m in a wheelchair so I’m assuming if I had a Green Screen or a Blue Screen behind me then would I keep crashing into it every time I moved? I’m a complete webcam noob but I know what I want etc. Can you help please. Oh I will also be using webcam to video chat with my niece and nephew if that factors into it? This video kinda put me off so is there any better 4K cams for me or is this it?
Hey Justin, great video as always. I'm currently using the C922, and wondering if I should upgrade to the Brio or not. Just wondering if you're still using the Brio two years later, or have you found a better webcam? Thanks much!
Justin, you NAILED this video...you always do. I'm floored by your ability to break down ALL the elements we need to know in order to make an informed buy. Thanks!
If I understand you correctly, you’re saying I will need to plug the Brio into a Windows computer to update the firmware before I can use it on my MacBook? I have no access to a Windows computer.
totally looks awesome ... proceeds to show how it actually look like crap compared to the camera you are using for recording the video. It looks bright but also blurry.
Quick note for those interested in purchasing this camera. Logitech provides software to upgrade the camera firmware for Apple macOS. It was probably added after this video was published.
Justin, you showed your face for 95% of this entire video, so the $2million question is: how am I supposed to know how this webcam actually works if I hardly seen any footage? Do you even own this webcam or ever tested it? I honestly doubt it....
My brio just recently purchased all of a sudden has glare streaks when I have the LED lights behind me turned on. This never happened before. No real changes in other lighting. Anybody had this or a resolution?
I am going to buy Logitech 4K Brio Stream Edition but I will not be happy about it. I will be damn proud of the purchase. I want to build my ultimate gaming experience.
How many reviews and comparisons watched, understood one thing. The Logitech Brio webcam does not work well for those who sit on calculators with and (or) the Internet via a modem. Or with a normal computer, but a small brain. Or with the wrong operating system. Have rest works better all.
I still use the Brio today, and from time to time the Elegato Facecam too. I’m looking forward to checking out Insta360’s new webcam though, could be a real gamechanger
IMHO camera review should be done via camera that you are reviewing. The part that is really interesting is only few percent of the full 12 minutes review... :(
I use a regular c920 and I don't see much difference. I mean, the BRIO looks like it picks up more light but that can be fixed simply by turning on more light.
Hi Justin, Iam Sidra Iqbal, I work in Pakistan as a TV journalist. I am reaching out as I am scrambling to upgrade my work from home workstation for my Live TV show. I came across this review of the Logitech Brio 4K, its almost 2 years old but its tge most comprehensive one I found online. Just needed ur advice if that's my best bet in the price range. Most of my TV work is connecting as a journalist / correspondent via Skype or Zoom. No editing or recording, live tv or online streaming. I want to keep the daily setup and broadcasting routine as simple as possible (lighting, etc)
Surprised to see the video from BRIO, the faces look out of focus and the ears seem to be sharper, either Justin was sitting too close or there are focusing issues with his set?
Why do people make a decent review but then OMIT one of the BIGGEST FEATURES to address? Yes, you said the "Audio" wasn't the greatest, but you DIDN'T GIVE US AN EXAMPLE!!! :(
Sounds like it doesn't have a 4k encoder chip. That's unfortunate. RE: CPU Usage. Do you have an intel CPU that has support for HEVC (that's only the newest generation)?
Can I ask where you downloaded the "Logitech Brio Control" application for Mac used in this video? In the Logitech Support link (support.logitech.com/en_us/product/brio/downloads), they seem to have replaced it with G Hub. Anybody know how I can find BRIO Control instead?
Don't waste your money on webcams, rather use Iriun Webcam app, it turned my smartphone into a webcam and literally changed the whole game for me, just found out about it and am really excited
Great idea! Great video Justin as always. I am not sure I need a 4K webcam, I have been pretty happy with my C920 and 1080 is really all I need for what I do. What do you think?
Thank you Justin. I just bought one. Would you please update the link to the camera app? Right now it leads to a generic web page and I am not sure which app to select in the download page as none are called camera app (is it the Control app maybe?). Also, there is a firmware update tool in the downloads section but it does not seem to apply to webcams. Would you please tell us how you upgrade the firmware with this camera?
Does the Brio record at 1080p at 60fp because I’m using it to teach bellydancing via zoom and other social media. I’m trying to find the best Logitech that will handle my movement. To my knowledge I would need a higher frame rate with 1080p or 4K., because at 30 fr it will be a larger latency.
:D In this video have only one good camera. What we see longest. The worst is the brio, the better is the c922. In the brio you like the terminator when his face is rotten. And it's obscure.
I've filmed all my videos (except my first two) on the C920 and it's served me very well. It is annoying that it will go out of focus, while in MANUAL focus mode, and before I had access to a proper microphone, the on board microphone is horrible. It picks up the sound of the shutter, or it pics up some sort of electrical noise constantly, and whenever the lens goes out of focus in manual mode, you can HEAR the lens refocusing (watch some of my early videos and you can hear it) The software was pretty average too. Good for quick adjusting of picture, but the preview when recording was too tiny. I'll have to see how the new software goes. What's the focus range like? Does it do good macro/close up? The way it mounts to a tripod now actually looks a little "meh". I like the ability to finely tweak the pivot of the camera without having to move the whole tripod or other mounting system. If I can convince Logitech to hook me up with one, I'm thing of doing an illustrator's review of it. the C920 has worked out well for me despite it's pitfalls.
Hey Beanie Draws! The C922 camera has fixed pretty much all the issues you've had with your c920. That alone is definitely worth the update 😀 The tripod mounting is much better in my opinion.. as you said you may not get the micro movements without older style mount but it's also nowhere near as solid if you're going to be using a tripod, and you would make the adjustments on the tripod anyway👍 I'm not sure exactly what the focus range is for macro shots, I'm sure that's something you could find on their website but for close ups having the wide angle and zoom ability will give you much more creative control for close or wide shots.

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying I will need to plug the Brio into a Windows computer to update the firmware before I can use it on my MacBook? I have no access to a Windows computer.
that was then, now it works on mac for firmware updates too
with those webcam ...the only thing in focus are your ears...your face is all the way blurry...Avoid at all cost..
totally looks awesome ... proceeds to show how it actually look like crap compared to the camera you are using for recording the video. It looks bright but also blurry.
😂 I mean its not "HDR".... its not a 10 bit camera. Typical marketing crap.
wouldve liked seeing the background replacement or hearing the mic than just being told its bad
you have that face and you didnt play guitar for video samples. CMON!
11:55 C920 is enough if you don't need the 60fps from C922. Makes sense?
Is normal the brio became hot. When I start use of the cam it becames hot.
Why does the Logitech brio not have 1440p at 60fps?
Too bad today's $1300+ Laptops come with crap potato camera
Brio does not support Cisco Open 264 codec for 4k.....only 1080p.
Thank you for showing actual sample videos. It's mind boggling how many 'reviews' out there don't show it.
No problem! 😄 👍
What Camera are you using recording this video? (not the logitec comparison but just when you talk in the start)?
Hey! It is the Panasonic GH4 but now we use the Panasonic GH5 👍
I just want a web cam thats as good as the throughput HDMI out on a Sony A7 iii, is that too much to ask?
Quick note for those interested in purchasing this camera. Logitech provides software to upgrade the camera firmware for Apple macOS. It was probably added after this video was published.
@ Anil Natha, could you share with me where the software is at based on your post? Thanks!😀
Justin, you showed your face for 95% of this entire video, so the $2million question is: how am I supposed to know how this webcam actually works if I hardly seen any footage? Do you even own this webcam or ever tested it? I honestly doubt it....
Thanks for your feedback on our 4.5year old video... Yep I own it, Yep I still use it. All the best with your videos
My brio just recently purchased all of a sudden has glare streaks when I have the LED lights behind me turned on. This never happened before. No real changes in other lighting. Anybody had this or a resolution?
well, too much talking, didn't get what I wanted!
Fantastic! Now i can see your face with all horrific details it comes with!
How is the Logitech Brio 4k if all I can get out of it is 1920x1080?
Does it come with the cable
Has anyone used the Brio with OBS desktop software?
the video at 3:55 does not do the camera justice, looks like you're running it at about 15fps and out of focus ??
Hi, the video is from 29. okt. 2017. You will still recomand that for mac M1? Thank you in advance
I still use the Brio today, and from time to time the Elegato Facecam too. I’m looking forward to checking out Insta360’s new webcam though, could be a real gamechanger
am i the only one that thinks that the c922 looks better?
IMHO camera review should be done via camera that you are reviewing. The part that is really interesting is only few percent of the full 12 minutes review... :(
What camera you used at the beginning of the video? Canon?
I use a regular c920 and I don't see much difference. I mean, the BRIO looks like it picks up more light but that can be fixed simply by turning on more light.
Do you use the Logitech Brio to record any You Tube videos.
Confusing testimonial video. Wasting time. Just give us what's best!
Hi Justin,
Iam Sidra Iqbal, I work in Pakistan as a TV journalist.
What camera did you use to make this video? Wich Canon?
Sounds like it doesn't have a 4k encoder chip. That's unfortunate. RE: CPU Usage. Do you have an intel CPU that has support for HEVC (that's only the newest generation)?
Your energy from the thumbnail gained my sub. Bless you
Thanks, great to have you here - Hazel, PV Team
Hi Justin, thanks for the video. Entirely a newbie in terms of equipment. Can you tell me what you shot your commentary with?
What camera and microphone systems do you currently use to record your published videos? They look awesome.
We currently use the Panasonic GH5 for our youtube videos 👍
There's 0 detail on your face, it looks terrible
Can I ask where you downloaded the "Logitech Brio Control" application for Mac used in this video? In the Logitech Support link (support.logitech.com/en_us/product/brio/downloads), they seem to have replaced it with G Hub. Anybody know how I can find BRIO Control instead?
Hi @Wai Ting, any luck on finding the Logitech Brio application for the Mac?
1080 have bad Quilty
Why do you look like Chris Martin??
Which is better this or the razer kiyo ultra
Don't waste your money on webcams, rather use Iriun Webcam app, it turned my smartphone into a webcam and literally changed the whole game for me, just found out about it and am really excited
typo in the captions he's said 4096 not 496 lol
Great idea! Great video Justin as always. I am not sure I need a 4K webcam, I have been pretty happy with my C920 and 1080 is really all I need for what I do. What do you think?
Professor Nez The FPS makes the biggest difference. It's a big upgrade
Yes, I have the brio and is awesome compared to other webcams just for that :)
This guys voice reminds me of Smajor lol
Does it work with amd laptop ?
Please reply
Thank you Justin. I just bought one. Would you please update the link to the camera app? Right now it leads to a generic web page and I am not sure which app to select in the download page as none are called camera app (is it the Control app maybe?). Also, there is a firmware update tool in the downloads section but it does not seem to apply to webcams. Would you please tell us how you upgrade the firmware with this camera?
Which web cam or cam was used to create this video? For that subtle DSLR-type bokeh background?
Hi Justin. I just wanna ask, what do you mean of using BRIO webcam can be CPU Intensive? I hope you'll answer me.
I’m trying to connect on my Mac air
:D In this video have only one good camera. What we see longest. The worst is the brio, the better is the c922. In the brio you like the terminator when his face is rotten. And it's obscure.
Name trepied double camera ?
Well look at that! 4K likes for the video😅
I've filmed all my videos (except my first two) on the C920 and it's served me very well. It is annoying that it will go out of focus, while in MANUAL focus mode, and before I had access to a proper microphone, the on board microphone is horrible. It picks up the sound of the shutter, or it pics up some sort of electrical noise constantly, and whenever the lens goes out of focus in manual mode, you can HEAR the lens refocusing (watch some of my early videos and you can hear it)
The software was pretty average too.
Is there any better webcam option you'd recommend? I'm looking for a budget camera for streaming church services (about 10m distance). I only need a decent image quality and integrated zoom, the sound is coming directly from the soundboard. Thanks for the video!
