Sorry to say but this video was awful, at least regarding the topic of the video. All you mentioned was that there is a glass lens and a bad stand that when taken off gives you a tripod mount. And then literally 1 minute about the Brio software. The rest of the time was all about accessories. And I was expecting some sort of accessories for the camera specifically. The topic lead me to believe this video was about the Brio, when only about 2 minutes was about the Brio itself.
Hey Andrew, I have seen a lot of your videos, and am curious how you are no longer wearing glasses. I can't see the screens without mine anymore but the glare from the front lights is really distracting in my live streams. What did you do to make the change? Just take the glasses off? Have eye surgery?
Just gotta use the Logitech Camera Settngs instead of the horrendously huge "Logitech Capture Video Recording & Streaming Software" which is garbage. Using OBS to adjust the image is awesome too.
thanks for the review. bought it and with OBS software the vid quality is really clear/crisp. lot of my colleagues have asked me what i was using as it really looked professional.
5:47 You warn glasses wearers away from ring lights. What 'would' you recommend for all of the people who wear glasses? (disregarding contacts as an option).
Ring lights are fine for glasses users as long as you put them off reflective axis and have at least 2 lights, but that really defeats a ring light's purpose, which is to be a singular lighting source that lights your face evenly, and has a camera in the middle, thus becoming an all in one recording/sound/lighting setup, which is perfect for portable filming, hence the "vlogger look" If you do have glasses -- as I do -- I'd at least use off-axis dual lighting, with a couple key lights.
I don't think that FOV change is being done with the lens. I'm judging on how it changed FOV instantly. If it has a 4k sensor then you could change FOV digitally and stay at 1080p Quality.
Yes, I own a Brio. The field of view is definately digital. The camera isn't even true 4k. You can see upscale smoothing even at the widest field of view. If you narrow the field of view it's ugly. (Ugly when compared to high quality cameras - I have a Sony a7r and Sony X3000. The Brio's quality matches it's price point. Just don't buy it expecting you're getting the same quality as a 4k GoPro!)
Recommendations for adapters for Mac ? It is my understanding and experience that the Brio is finicky about extension cables and adapters. I want to connect the Brio to MacBook Pro laptops which use a ThunderBolt 3 connector - any recommendations/concerns ?
Hey there! I'm interested in getting the Logitech Brio 4K webcam, but I'd like to know more about its compatibility with different operating systems and software. Can you provide more information about that? Thanks in advance!
1:50 your punching in for more detail can't be because of the lens if it is instant, it can only be digital zoom, which you say it isn't. if it were not digital zoom, the lens would be physically moving to zoom in/out and could not be instant as you showed
It's not digital zoom. If it were each time I punched in as I mentioned it, the pixels would have dropped and made me look fuzzy since that's what digital zoom ultimately does. The selection was made with the field of view in the software. The 5x digital zoom you may be thinking of I did not demo. 6:03
@@awalldigital to not be a digital zoom, the there have to be multiple lenses or a single lens that physically moves in or out and that movement would not be instant. looking fuzzy has nothing to do with a zoom being digital or physical but can be a result of it. if the selection was made with the FOV in the software, then the software was used to do a digital zoom. either way, as Kepagu103 wrote, there have to be multiple lenses or a single lens that moves. that instant in your video, you only showed a digital zoom which was (as you wrote) done in software. edit: at 6:03, a field of view change is a zoom. wide field of view is a zooming out effect and a narrow field of view is zooming in
You say it's good, but "don't use the microphone". I would have thought that the microphone function is part of a decent webcam and that it SHOULD work, and work really well, for the money!
If you haven't bought this, there's a great video on YT comparing this, the two Razers and the Logitech stream. This is the one they recommend... and their review is really useful.
Just go into yoyr advanced sound settings from control panel, go to recording and the brio should be in there along with every audio input source yoy have connected to your pc (ironically ps4 and Xbox controllers register in here too) and in there you can specifically disable it.
As for mic, I can give my testament to the same mic he is using here. The Shure MV7 is the little brother to the legendary SM7B, but for a quarter of the price. ALOT of people will say that's not true, as the sm7b is only 400, BUT, you need a cloud lifter and phantom power. Where as the MV7 offers top tier broadcast quality and dang near everything the sm7b has to offer, and packs the punch of shure motiv companion software and runs both micro USB and XLR, with a small change in audio. Obviously XLR output and input is the way you would want to go but for the upgrade ability it offers, it is hands down the best mic on the market and sits at 250, where the quality difference to mics around the price it reigns above and it contends with the mics above that price as well. Dynamic mics can be interesting for placement though
I use chroma key with my elgato green screens, this is not a function in the Logitech software. This is in OBS, and I have a looped background that I use.
Try placing your light in a 45 degree angle and not directly in front of you or if you have a ring light you can get one of these to soften the light should you choose to amzn.to/3ByVPSX (affiliate)
i sort of wish people would actually review the sound of the microphone even if they think it is bad. let your viewer experience it. it might be the case that they are looking for an all in one.
I dont think its too bad at all. For Skype or average chat it should be perfectly fine, but if one is looking into content creation then they will most likely want a step up in quality. Id even say it works good enough to start out a youtube channel or twitch stream with, until you can afford to buy a dedicated mic. Its def no professional mic, but you can clearly hear voices and room/environment sounds without issue. Doesn't have that tin can sound or crackling or any of the usual low quality mic symptoms. Just doesnt have that deep rich crystal clear quality most higher end mics tend to have.
Hi, the Logitech Capture software allows switching between 2 Logitech Brios during recording them. Do you have an idea, how to record 2 Logitech Brios simultaneously with a 4k resolution? Which software does it? I want to have 2 (synchronized) 4k-files to cut/mix them later. I only know Multicam Capture (Corel), but there is a max 1080p resolution. Any idea, for Windows?
I'm going to use for conference calls, zoom and voice to text, I don't want a separate microphone. It's on sale for $128 right now, would you still suggest this webcam? I'm between this one and an $80 2k one that has mono speaker

This webcam did not work at all, very, very slowly, almost freezing. Customer service was as helpful as they could be but the cable that came with it did not work well with my MacBook Pro, M1 (2020).
