Great job Jack. Is there any benefit to running OpenLitespeed against NGINX. I started life off on apache, moved to Nginx and have stuck with it because the server load is much less. I wonder if there is any advantage in moving to OLS
Wow! That was great. I spend close to 4hrs setting up a VPS server just for a single WordPress site and I bill a sizable fee to my clients, but that's because I have to secure and harden the Linux operating system as there are many vulnerabilities and security holes that Vultr or any VPS provider does not protect your VPS from. Also, you don't need to install an entire Ubuntu operating system on your computer just to access "ssh" - you can just use Windows PowerShell (already installed on all Windows 10 & Windows 11 PCs) or you can download Git for Windows. Ubuntu is an operating system similar to Windows and will not only consume a lot of storage space on your PC but also will use up a lot of system resources meaning it potentially will slow down your computer.
@@JackCao looking forward to all your future video, build Fast website ~ Looking forward for topic like CDN Email server setup for marketing purpose etc
High Jack there is a new setting for vultr deploys. I know the principals are the same but would you do a new version for newbies. What were your page speed results for this settings?
I have an end goal for setting up Vultr this way. I mentioned in the video that I am going to do a speed test on the raw server power, so I am setting it in a way that all VPS servers will have the same setup. After which, when I found the best host, I will then create another tutorial using control panels to host all of my sites. The Ddos protection is additional cost, and it doesn't align with my agenda. Anyway, from your experience, is cyberpanel the best? What about Plesk? Do you know which is the best? Looking forward to your advice! 😊
@@JackCao i like you very much, but I think this video is not good at all. I understand what you did, but someone see it and think that's all. It's useless to compare speed on a raw server, because this will not happen in real life. You need protection for the server/site. I used cyberpanel and plesk...I'm not an expert, but for sure I will go with cyberpanel if I have to choose. Anyaway, for me I will chose Scalahosting because is cheap, better, excelent support and you have all in one.
Hi Claidiu, quick question, I am using Cyberpanel to migrate websites now. I am hitting a roadblock, I hope you can help. There is no way that I can do the one click WordPress + LSCache install without having downtime. Because you need to point the DNS over to IP address of the VPS before WordPress can be installed, and thereafter, you can transfer the files and database. Do you have a process for this since you are a cyberpanel user? I've been experimenting with this and the only method I came out with (without downtime) is through using FTP client to transfer files.
Yup, use a control panel as Shah mentioned. I will do another tutorial once I've identified the fastest and cheapest VPS host as I will need to migrate all of my sites to one instance (server). 😊
Hey @Jack Cao another great video as usual and timely one, our Siteground hosting is due to expire shortly and we are looking for a better alternative. How many sites would can we host on a basic Vultr setup like in your vid?. (meaning a basic local business type of site)
For this setup, it is one, for the most ideal site speed. I am doing another tutorial for setting up multiple sites. It requires a control panel. It will probably be out next week.
Please send me an email to jack@jackcao.com with your site link 😄 Will do my best to help but will take some time as I am kinda busy. I'll see what I can do.
Worth the time to do it as it saves money and performs better than shared hosting. 😁 It is intimidating, no doubt, but if you follow along, you will get the hang of it.
Your videos are amazing. Please never give up. You’re the best UA-camr in this niche.

please do a video for the lightspeed cache CDN
Very clear and detailed description, Jack. Great job! 😃
Thanks Dr. James!
great one ! thinking to move from shared hosting to vps. just nt sure how to host a few site within 1.
When I found the fastest and cheapest host I will do another tutorial, but what you need is a control panel, like plesk.

@@honhuat76 Yeah those are in the pipeline. But for now, needa get this Hosting stuff done right before moving on to WP tutorials again. 😆
oh boy, I was looking for litespeed and there it is.
Awesome!
Isn´t it better to wait for the domain to be live on Vultr to install WP directly on the domain instead on the IP address?
Just wondering, why did you use WP Vivid instead of all in one wp migration (which was already installed on the vultr wordpress site)?
Thanks Jack, great tutorial as usual.
What about security and backups and support?
What if I want to use Cloudflare SSL instead of Let Encrypt? and thank you for in-depth tutorial

What about settings to tweak openlitespeed
Can I host multiple WP sites on a single Cloud Compute server?
My images stop appearing on home page after i did this. But it appears in regular single post
Nice video, thank you Jack.
You are welcome! 😊
Nice...but...what about the security of the site? Ddos protection? Why you have not used cyberpanel?

Can you make a video on how to secure vultr server to prevent hacking.
Is this still valid in 2024 or will you make another updated version? It is close to 2025...
Typically you can flush the pc's DNS and clear chrome cache and it should load up faster after the NS takes effect.
Thanks for sharing! Will do that for other installs. 😊 But, so reluctant to clear my browser cache. Too many things on it 😭
@@JackCao I use a extention called "clear cache" for edge and chrome. I clears the cache for that tab that is open only. It has a recycle logo.
Nice video👍

How can I host multiple websites in same server
You can but it is better to use a free panel such as cyber panel or aapanel
