Thank you Jack for this awesome tutorial. First time I am using Digital ocean, migrating my site from shared hosting to DO and it was super easy to follow along.
Hi Jack, thank you for this amazing tutorial. I have successfully migrated my site, but can you please tell me how can I get access to my database or wp files now? Also, can I add subdomain in same droplet?
Hi there.. ive successfully installed wordpress to DO using your tutorial. my question is, how to upgrade php version and database version? Let me know. Tq.
With these method you can not. If you set a LEMP Server you can create unlimited in a droplet. But you need to know codes. I recommend another solunation called wordops. It is basic like jack's method and better
@@JackCao I would prefer linode and digital ocean as second choice. Jack your recent video was very nice but you compared the 6$ plan of digital ocean with linode 5$ plan that was kind not fair. You should have used only 5$ plan only for digital ocean , linode and vultr.
how to change domain on OpenLiteSpeed(meaning point to another domain)? Because the initial script will dispear once you have set it up successfully. Then how do I change the domain if later I figure out I will want to change it?
hank you Jack for this awesome tutorial But unfortunately, the process has become very complicated for me. Can you make this migration to my site? How can I communicate with you in this regard?
@@JackCao After downloading the site through the wpvivid tool, as you know, it automatically logs out and when I try to re-enter it gives me that the password or username is incorrect. I tried more than 4 times from the starting point and I still face the same problem, although I am sure that the information is correct
Hi jack. I managed to get as far as restoring the backup, but I didn't get immediately locked out. However after the restore what did happen is I got an error prompt msg (I don't recall but it was an error related to the restore) and then I lost the Wordpress login completely. Im unable to even open the login page. The website appears to have transferred ok (at least the website does fully load and is functioning on the new Digital Ocean IP) but I'm unable to bring up the wdpress login page. Please help.
UPDATE: I managed to solve the issue with the migrate 'upload' issue but deleted a number of necessary plugins. One of which was WPFasterCache which I suspect might have been the cause. I also discovered a couple of things. If you set up the new Dropbox dropbox and create a Wordpress login with the SAME login name as your original Wordpress site. Then the password from the original site will update at the new site during the upload. I guess this goes without saying but I figure its maybe worth mentioning as I was wondering why my new site password didn't work.
UPDATE 2: Unfortunately however my migration ran into issues that weren't explained in the tutorial. I followed all the steps in the clip and everything worked as the tutorial explained. Although I didn't want to point the DNS to Digital Ocean Name Server as I have a lot of other configurations on the DNS (I have a number of subdomains and email hosting). So what I did is I changed the A record at my DNS to point to the IP of the new Wordpress on the digital ocean site. When pinged the domain it returned the new site IP. However when I entered the domain name in the browser, whilst the page loaded perfectly, the URL address in the browser bar changed to the IP address. I did a bit of googling and found that the Wordpress Setting and found the URL and Site Address was showing the IP address and not the domain name. No sure why did this not update in the migration? I attempted to change the URL and Site Address settings but the page then started experiencing issues and didn't load the pages correctly. So I rolled back the DNS A record back to the original host site. So far Im still stuck at this step.

How do you add a second/third WordPress install on the same digital ocean droplet, when not using hosting panels like Cyberpanel or Plesk?
And also on a separate domain. Is this even possible without a hosting panel?
With these method you can not.

I think you need to delete VPS machine and rebuild a new VPS Machine.
I think this can be made with codes as well over the putty terminal.
Set up another server. This setup is only for one domain per server.

Just don't try this steps if you have a large wordpress site, you'll cry a river.
It's an incomplete process, you haven't mentioned clearly about name servers.
Bro, why not timestamps on the video in 2021. :(
Was in a rush to post sorry will do it tomorrow
