Problem is, you don't steer a motorcycle by turning the handlebar. They should make it weight / balance based & have a servo swing a weight to either side for turns. Maybe making it in a larger scale would help too.
Also at low speeds you would steer with the turn and at higher speeds you would slightly counter steer to initiate the lean that would be really hard to pull off in rc just not natural unless you are on the bike
motorcycles are steered by the steering try going round a corner with no hands, you'll find it's push pull on the bars not lean....you steer the opposite way you wish to go.
Yes
At low speeds you absolutely do turn with the handlebars
They did years ago Kyosho Leaning Rider series. They were heavy but handled like the real bikes. They just re-released them.
I think a gyro would do wonders to stabilize the bike.
That's exactly what I was thinking
@@MobPerfect I was talking about the first bike. There's no way to know what helped the second bike over the first. It might be that bigger bikes are just easier in general
LOSI HAS A NICE SIZE WITH A SUPER GYRO CANNOT FALL OVER IF SO WILL GET UP HIT THE GAS PLUS WHEELIE CHECK IT OUT GUYS.
This is your best video yet!
That second bike was nice! But it needs moar powaah! ^^
as some people have said you need the ability to lean with weight , imagine leaning left right ,over the bars and fender ,having a mix ,or on demand switch for low speed maneuvers/counter steering , drift modes , ability to wheelie and possibly use the rc riders weight . its a hope and a dream , if a community is made with open source software ,like what happened to race quads ,I could see it happening. it would suck to crash and blow out like 4 servos and linkages on the rider XD
This guy!!! This guy and all his stuff are awesome!
...
Any NETFLIX VOLTRON fans here? Talbot is totally CORAN!!! lol
On a similar size kyosho I had years ago the insert in the front tyres was a steel band and it acted as a gyro when the front wheel was spinning. Then when you steered the steering fought against the gyro to try and stay upright. Just wondering if you could make something similar for this bike
i had one too. it worked quite well. this thing should used for target practice
@@rosslenoir4373 Yea, I had one too. It ran great, you could hit jumps with it and everything. I don't know why this one is so bad.
I recall the Eleck Rider had a pivot so the front wheel would kick out left or right to turn. I think the steering wasn't actually connected to anything. The kick out twist made the bike lean and turn. It didn't turn fast, but it was smooth.
Fjtutrwrtju7utjk^
That supermotard looks fun. Haha
Look at counter steering on the model. On a real bike you push the right handle bar slightly to turn right which is effectively is steering the bike left forcing it to lean to the right. I know this sounds confusing but it's how it works. To turn left you PUSH the left handlebar which in effect is steering the bike to the right forcing it to lean to the left. If you use this method when riding you are almost leaning into the turn by pushing the relevant handle bar. If you have set the steering servo to turn left as you turn left on the wheel it will turn opposite to what you want. Also there needs to be hardly any movement needed to make the turn so hardly any throw is needed on the servo. Just a hint of a turn will do. They are not like cars.
I love your videos
I had high expectations for this little guy and it doesn't do so well, eh?

❤🔥Next up, Supermoto + skate park = MOON❤🔥
😁
That dirtbike would be a cool build to make it faster and learn how to ride actual wheelies with it!
Kevin is the best youtuber ever there’s nobody else like him like this comment for Kevin to see it
I been waiting for the bike vid🔥🔥🔥
Happy new year everyone 🎉
Next few months next few years you mean to build that
Oooooooooh it's Christmas every day
I mastered it kind of quickly. You have to build speed on the straights and let off the throttle completely before diving the bike into the turn and then give it power again on the exit. Power makes the bike stand up which is why you don’t want it on the entry and do want it on the exit. Just like a real bike.
Get a Tamiya Dancing Rider. Easy to drive, hard to master. I'm in the process if getting a group together to race them, they are hilarious!
Had a Kyosho 1/14 with hang on rider back in the day, really fun. I'd imagine you'd find it a little easier with a gyro with a soft setting. But like most are saying, the emphasis of an RC motorcycle is less on steering and more to do with throttle control, you can still run a bike with epa's/DR all the way down to give you the flick you need to start the lean then practise throttle control. And yea, you really need a big flat area to run them, even the tiny pocket racers like the mini-z motorcycle, speaking relatively.
It's so fast!! it looks like fun!!
Suddenly theirs a small army of old boys tinkering with this tiny little toy, awesome what great sports I'd love a shop like that local to me.......👍👌👍
Happy New Year Kevin & the Crew!!!!!🎆🎇🎉
Hiya Kev. First I would like to wish you a Happy New Year. Hope 2023 is a good one.
I wouldn't recommend De Agostini! It's a very expensive way to build a kit. I built a nitro car a while ago. I think it worked out to be around £500. The only upside is that you knew every inch of your model. Eventually, the gearbox broke and De Agostini couldn't get me a replacement as they had discontinued the model. Work it out money-wise for yourself.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
350 for that bike is absolutely crazy🤣just saying 🤦🏻♂️I’ve always wanted a bike 🚀
Merry new year Kevin and all the other people you see!
Kev was deliberately driving badly so to lull Tomley into a false sense of security!
He seems to drive deliberately bad all the time 😂😂
Literally the first video of his I've seen which required any resemblance of skill, and I can't pretend to be surprised that he was trash.
He's clinically retarded, all he can do is full-send expensive toys at ramps and break them.
greatness
Yesssirrrrr❤❤❤
thanks for this years content
Was always told it has to have a mechanical gyro to stay upright… 👍
Incorrect. Real motorcycles do not have a gyro and these are meant to work the same way
😆 🤣 😂
@@everettstormy yes but physics do not scale down the same.

Your first rc bike Kev.
Happy New Year Kev!!
As someone that has both small and large 1/5 scale bikes too, I've found the smaller they are, the harder they are to use.
That little bike is a work of art. Needs a super smooth surface that still affords some grip like a basketball court. Very smooth throttle and steering inputs. you don't need much steering throw either.
Shorten your stabilizers a little and ease into turns by backing off the throttle, turning (countersteer at speed and normal steering when going slow....That's why they can be challenging!!) and then accelerating out smoothly.
It's all about being smooth with the controls.
They are epic once you get the hang of them and of course having a huge flywheel in the back wheel helps tremendously!!
or even a tennis court, the one with the rubber surface...or a running track........

Need a skatepark video with the rc bike..💯😤
RC bikes are tricky. You want to avoid steering under power and you need to counter steer once the bike leans in the turn. That small scale will really require a lot of skill.
Ironically that's just like a real bike. Most people don't understand you just lean the thing to turn and put pressure on the outside grip to counter steer. People think you actually turn the bars to steer lol.
@@riothero313 Correct, just like a real bike.
@@riothero313 You clearly don't understand either, you counter-steer above around 15mph, you steer with the bars or clip-ons either way, you can't steer by leaning alone, well you won't be getting around any bends anyway.
Leaning just helps the bike turn in a bit quicker, and you don't need to hang your arse off the seat and throw a knee down either, but of course that helps at very high speeds on track 😎
@@riothero313 Ironically, you do t understand it either😂
I built a 1/5th scale Dmc deloreon from back to the future through a monthly subscription like that. Its so much fun
I have a thunder tiger SB-5, I was driving like you for a while before I figured it out. biggest thing is, a set of good tires make a world of difference. My stock tires were foamy and pretty much unusable; the bike would spin out and flip with the slightest throttle. Sensored ESC and motor also makes throttle imput more managable without having to compensate with transmitter programing. Lastly just practice, know the bike uses the tires as a gyroscopic effect so the slower you go the less stability, you should be able to pick the bike up from a stand still on the skid bars by turning away while trottling and then into the turn at speed. My bike is 1/5 so im sure its not quite the same as theese small ones, but they are a lot of fun once you get the hang of them.
The old ones had free floating handlebars and used the 2S as a weight. When you turn it moved the battery from side to side. Worked great.
The good old Royal RC bikes 👍
This is what mine had. Miss that bike.
Good
Love the videos kev
It needs weight in the rear wheel to stay upright so it acts as a gyroscope. I’ve actually driven similar rc bikes before with success.
That crash sound effect, though 🤣🤣🤣
Might need to reverse the steering. When you go fast on a bike the bars go right to lean the bike left and turning the bars left leans the bike right.
It’s a toy that weighs an ounce or so so those laws of physics don’t apply here also there’s nobody on top to throw around their weight
Affirm. I came to the comments to look for the inevitable argument about counter-steering...
Maybe you're on to something there. Like a weighted rider that shifts his/her body weight when steering. It would make more sense than turning the bars, and the gyro actively fighting the adjustable weighted rider.
increase driving wheel weight for more gyro effect
disconnect servo from actual steering , or connect it in such a way that max servo output does change the servo saver, but moves the steering only by a bear minimum (not sure how that would be done)
increase weight on the servo saver at the point away from the center so you have weight to throw the bike around
On the Kyosho after some experience I removed the front wheel weight and side bars. It was a little more difficult to drive and no more self starting But faster and more enjoyable. So adding some weight in the front wheel this tiny new one should be better. Happy New Year to you all. Ciao Nanni
3:00am in Mexico XD
The steering should be setup as counter steering. (Turn left, the handlebars should turn right to initiate the turn.) it’s how motorcycles work.
Pretty cool
steering has way too much travel. Set it so its got about 10% throw on the steering servo so it moves about 20 degrees total.
I would also try and slow the steering down. Smaller movements and more smooth speed would definitely help.
ive never seen electric, only seen nitro thats cool kev! love seeing new things especialy on ur channel shows proper reviews and quality off items,as a subscriber i appricate the honest reviews helps me decide what toys would be worth it in quality and price! ty sir!
9:03 wow!
Omg Kevin Talbot its Christmas ever day buddy great info video
One of my first RCs was an electric bike in the 80s. It was great. It actually had a rider with gear that would attach or detach.
While people saying you don’t steer a bike with the handlebars, it’s mostly , but not completely true. The thing with a bike is, if you want to steer right you have to steer left first, which makes the bike tilt to the right, then you steer right. It’s all done by feel on a bike but with a model you need to bare that in mind. There’s a veritassium video on it.
The last time I had an r/c motorcycle it had no steering on the front wheel itself. Instead it used the weight of the battery in the bottom to shift the weight, and the front steering free pivoted. Very easy to drive that one :)
goodmorning kev!!!!
Problem with those subscriptions to build your own models with the weekly editions in the newsagents is that they are dear and the money you spend on every edition by the time you have finished the model motorbike you could have bought a real full size one!
Yea and they are not clear with the prices you will be paying monthly, not sure you can get them in newsagents like in the old days lol, but check their site, it's not clear at all.
@@HalfdeadRider $1,485 and Approx. 15 months.
Make that bigger bike do 50!!!
Hi Kev! Love your vids!
Happy new year
I think if you pull out the side guard things it aids you more for a beginner. Like have them out as far as they can go so the bike doesn't tilt as far over when its about to fall.
That bike is sick!
Think it needs a gyro kev.
Hey I’m a fan
I didn't even know they made this for RC. I do agree weight servo would work better and a gyro for center level would be needed too. Great video thought btw way Mr.Kevin
It is a shame that radio controlled motorcycle racing hasn't taken off. One can't even find a UA-cam channel dedicated to it like FPV quadcopter racing. It is weird that FPV cameras haven't been added to the racing motorcycles where the drivers use FPV goggles. This would remove the need for line-of-site control. Additionally, retractable outrigger landing gear could be added to the motorcycles like the Peraves MonoRacer (MonoTracer) to keep the motorcycle upright when stopped. It can also assist in righting the motorcycle when on its side, with the gear retracted. There are videos on UA-cam showing this: "The Peraves EcoMobile - Discovery Beyond 2000 (1994)" and "The Peraves EcoMobile - Discovery Invention (1991)".
This bike looks cool, like a bootleg Ducati lol and, so fast,
Have a good one 👍 👍
Damn it Kev.... Christmas just gone and I'm not patient enough to wait until my birthday! 😉
Why would I want a monthly subscription for a model kit? They've already designed the whole thing, they already have all the parts, just send me the whole thing if I'm even gonna bother building it in the first place
Happy new year kev all the best for 2023. New year I think you should go for the world's fastest rc motorbike
Hi Kevin a fan from India I have challenge for u to buy a Rolls-Royce toy modle
Why give him the challenge?
It’s too simple, I can show you mine too.
Let's make it happen
@@gustav_a.mozumder2011 toy model from real rolls Royce company
@@mr.powerfuljat2833 Rolls Royce don’t have authorised dealerships everywhere and this the models aren’t available for everyone to purchase moreover, it would be as expensive as buying an iPhone.
So when your riding a motorcycle at any speed under around 12mph the steering acts as you’d assume it too, turn the handlebar’s left you go left. But once you gain speed and your wheels start spinning fast enough to help keep balance gyroscopically the steering all of a sudden changes. So in order to initiate a corner you must momentarily steer counter to your chosen direction. “Counter steering”, challenges a lot of beginner riders around sharper corners and cause the rider to panic if they can’t grasp the simple concept. A trick that make it easier to understand is, “Push left go left, push right go right.”
Yo Kev Happy New Year love all the videos! Looking forward to 2022 in review! I got into RC just by watching your videos. Thank You Sir! God Bless
DESCRIPTION of NEXXBIKE JAGUAR RC 1/12
• Easily controlled.
I have a cheap one which has a mechanical gyro (metal flywheel which starts spinning as soon as remote is binded ) which help so much in balance and better control.
Woah that dirtbike rc is so cool I never seen anything like that ever. Can u do a vid of the dirt bike rc hitting jumps?
No link for the working motorcycle?
Thats pretty cool but i wish there would be a dirt bike edition
FR bruh 🥲🥲
I have one similar too this and a larger scale that has a gyro built into the rear wheel hub it’s a road bike and it’s dam fast and stable compared to the smaller one like you have
That's what I was gonna suggest.. a gyro...
@@neilwatcham8932 some have them some delete them it’s a system in the rear wheel not a gyro like you would see on a rc plane, many thst race them don’t run them in the wheel wheel so it’s more nibble but this bike is just a cheaper one I got one just like it but different name and it’s shit compared to the bigger scale bike I got
How many sun lbs can I get from this comment
Physics Kevin, physics.
Lower the CG(center of gravity)
I don't know anything about RC motorcycles but on real bikes when the weight is lower they're easier to ride
my brother had an rc motorike growing up, it went maybe 10 mph but drove like a dream, it wasnt hobby grade but man was it fun
My Venom MM450 with E-gyro is nuts and so much fun!

the bigger motor bike at the end does look like a lot of fun
Lovely bit of kit and I'm sure if you had the right surface and some time to practice, it would be fun.
That small bike is crazy.
Claire's Laugghter is PRECIOUS! 😂
You should try the SkyRC SR5 it has an electronic flywheel in the rear wheel that makes the motorbike stable even at very slow speeds. I have the SkyRC SR4 which is basically the same as the SR5 other than different front forks and different colour scheme. It is also very fast at around 50mph. I run mine on a 2S 6000mah lipo on-road and a 3S 3600mah lipo off-road. If you use a 3S on-road it is very hard to keep the front wheel on the floor. It easily does wheelies on command. Just pull the throttle and up it goes. Its the best RC thing i've ever bought.
Good idea 👍
Let's send it to the MOON 👍😂
