I thought Darkness gave you more damage with shadow spells, not increase to all shadow spell damage increases? So if you have 0 spell power and Mind Blast does 200 damage, does Darkness not increase it to 220?
I believe he is wrong and Darkness increases only the base damage of abilities before spell power. That is also how the holy talents such as improved renew work.

So I recently got the Flarecore Leggings on my Shadow priest but after i kept reading forums and guides, I am actually 6% short on spell hit (beginner caster here). My plan was (gear wise) to have Robes of Winter Night, Flarecore Leggings and Betrayer's Boots on my list. Would it be worth moving to the BV set or at least switch the robes with the BV chest?
How viable do you think shadow wrath gear is if rolled with the highest sp possible? I picked up a 20 sp cloak the other day. Was curious if I should keep or sell.
Cloak and bracers with 18-20 shadow damage is better than any pre bis litems you can get in that slot (minus archivists cape) I personally am using spritecasters cape right now but I would replace it for a 20 shadow damage cloak.
They confirmed that any pieces up to1.9 loot tables will be available in phase 1. This means the footwraps, crimson felt hat, and dark advisors pendant will all be available phase 1.

So much wrong, on the hands you use felcloth hands (insane), 2d trinket is mindtap talisman. Bracers are green boe +21 shadow dmg. And the flarecore legs dosent excist i p1. So ur gonna go with the lbrs ones. And for shoulders, loose 6 sp and gain +20 int on the schoolomance shoulders. Also for pvp get 4 set pieces from the schoolo +stamina gear. Ty, otherwise ok guide. Burial shawl so much better. Sacrifice 6 damage for 16 int? I’d rather be able to cast a spell. 4K mana means you’re oom in 20 seconds. If you’re not atleast 5k unbuffed, rethink going into straight damage. Also saying hit doesn’t matter, especially with your 4K mana pool in this set up, one missed swp and 10% of your mana is gone. Not to mention it affects whether your shadow weaving falls off a boss... if that happens you lose all your value to the raid.

I thought Maleki's Footwraps were added in 1.4 and were not available in phase 1? or i must be missing something

Jacoby Mugatu they confirmed in the AMA that all loot tables will be up to patch 1.9 until phase 5 when they update them to the 1.10 loot tables.
