Thank you, I just bought two of these boxes (just in case) glad to see it turns out really nice! In Canada the name of this color is "Stockholm" for anyone wondering!
I hope it turns out great for you! And thanks for the name change mention for others looking for this product
@@LaurenLex checking out reviews because I just got some of this too, thank you for your fade documentation, that is very helpful. I'm in Canada too and the colour is 8S Stockholm medium silver blonde. Growing out my platinum and going grey and this will be just what I'm after, appreciate your video! Cheers!
Girl your amazing for remember to record after every wash! Keep it up your doing awesome! 😊
Thanks for the review! I just tried this colour but my hair has more brass to it than yours but I still like it! I’m almost 60 and wanted my roots to blend more with my hair as I’m very grey naturally. Wish I could post a photo to show you how it turned out.
That last color looks so pretty! More natural with shadow roots. That is where I will be this summer!
Yes, your video was far superior to all the others because of all the relevant info. I dyed my hair and it is great! All because of you , thanks!
That makes me so happy!
This is super helpful, thank you for showing the colour between washes!
If you keep your grey color try using Loreal EverPure blonde toning shampoo & Conditioner or John Freida Blonde toning Shampoo and it will help with the yellowing coming through. There are also toning shampoos & conditioners for Silver/grey color hair as well. A good one will will help with your fading & toning grey color.
Thank u so much for doing this review, i can barely find any videos on this dye!!
Awesome & very helpful video with the wash updates. I’ve been really thinking should I 🤔 should I not? So this helped a ton. Thank you!
I love this !!! You look beautiful!!! N it’s sold out at my Walmart of course !!!
Thank you for this helpful video. Yes, I have found the fading process does eventually bring out the true box colour. Yours looks great and so perfect for your skin tone, at all stages of the process. 👌❤️😍
Well thank you! I like how it looks too. So weird that gray hair would suit me lol
Thank you so much for the update 🥰
Hi! Did you have to tone it also?
It looks beautiful
Yep.. same here. On.. maybe my ninth wash
thanks! this was great! just did this color this morning!
Thanks! I hope it worked well for you :)
Maybe I missed this but how long did you leave the color on...start to rinsing out? Also, what would you say are the predominant color undertones...more blue, purple or combination? For chin length hair, would you need to use full amount? Never used box color before. Thanks and your hair looks nice...great that it didn't turn it green-ish!
I just bought this! For after i lift it with the loreal feria. Thank youu SO much it look gorgeoussss on you 💗💖
Thank you+ I hope it was helpful!
Great video. I love how you showed a timeline for how it faded and the lighting was the exact same in all the video takes. Lends a lot of credibility, unlike many videos you see out there showing yellow lights and then blue lights where even the skintone is different. You truly did a great job with this! You'd think something marked 'permanent' wouldn't fade even after 12 shampoos. Permanent is supposed to be well ... permanent, right? Except for the regrowth at the roots, the hair should remain that color for the life of the hair that was colored. In any case, I love that color on you.
I learned from my mother in law years ago who was a Hair Beautician for many many years that with the store bought boxed hair colors (any brand/any color) you need to leave the hair dye in your hair for longer than the instructions tell you to. She said to leave the dye in your hair for 50-60 minutes. She told me that the short instruction time in boxed dyes is there for safety, but leaving the dye in your hair longer will Not damage your hair because it also has another safety issue in it to where after about 50-60 minutes the coloring deposit/lifting color stops/deactivates. I have used store boxed hair colors for many years and once I took her advice and left the hair color in my hair for a full 60 minutes I ended up with much better results with any color/any brand that I have used.
I have always been a fan of leaving my hair dye on longer and I have never had any problems with it. Even when I used to dye my hair colors, it always turned out so much
I used this to cancel out a very faded pink hair color. I kinda really like it cux my hair isn't flat or straight and the hair around the frame of my face is a dark brown so it adds a nice shadow to the color
Thank you for the update
Thanks, great review!
Thank youuuuuu❤
Have you tried to rose blond one by L’Oréal in medium? I’m debating this one or that one. But can’t find any reviews!!! On it. But I loved this it was really pretty. And after the wash out it just looks toned.
I haven't tried that one. Sorry! I also love faded color a lot, it's nice because it faded really evenly and not patchy at all.
This was very helpful Thank You! 🤗
Really love the color for blonde to grey I only wash my hair twice a week so that should last my hair a good month I'm glad to see one that doesn't turn the hair blue 🙂
thank you for makng this udpate video :) this is so useful to see how it originally looked and how it continues to look with washes. you're so detailed checking every wash! how often do you wash your hair jw and do you have any tips on what shampoos and conditioners you use for blonde hair?
Thanks! So glad it was helpful! I typically wash my hair once a week since it's damaged and I try to keep the color as long as possible. For blonde hair if you like more of the cool toned hair, i love using purple shampoos to keep it from getting brassy. My favorites are the Shimmer Lights purple shampoo and conditioner from Sally's but tbh, the generic Sally's brand is just as good and cheaper. It does have a strong perfumey scent though, but it doesn't bother me. But there are a million brands of purple shampoos these days so you just gotta find one that works for you. Thanks for watching!
I bought 2 boxes of this in December because I wasn't sure if it would work or even last because in the past I have been so disappointed by gray colors. It worked great and lasted longer than other silver dyes I was pretty impressed with that. My only complaint is the smell of the dye is incredibly strong it made my eyes water up.
Yes, it did have a very strong scent. I haven't used many permanent dyes in years since I had red hair, and I had forgotten how strong the smell was. I usually use a lot of korean hair color treatments which I find also last a good amount of time, but don't have as strong a smell.
@@LaurenLex Same here, over the past two years I've just used Arctic fox and iroiro which both have pleasant scents. I just used L'Oreal S8 again and eyes instantly started to water up but I want beautiful hair so I'll keep dealing with it. :P Thanks for your review and response.
Good ty
Great video! I just used this hair color and I really like how you showed how the color fades. My color came out close to the same of your color. Excited to see how my color changes. And, yes I like this color already too and hope Loreal keeps making it. Thanks for sharing 🙂 I tried to add a pic of my hair color after using but couldn't 😕 have a great day🙂
Glad it was helpful! I really hope they keep making this dye too! I would be so sad if they discontinued it. Thanks for watching!
Wow, great video so helpful !
Thank you!
I really enjoyed your video my hair is not a blonde color it’s more of a copper red color and I am thinking of dying my hair silver I actually have the same box dye as the one in your video anxious to see how it will look on mine
Let me know how it turns out!
Thank you for this review. It helps me can make a decision if I want to buy this hair dye or not.
So glad it was helpful for you!
Thank you so much this helped me out a whole lot!! I have been trying to find a good dye that’s grey but when washed out it’s not going to turn out gross lol
I'm so happy it was helpful! Thank you for watching :D
So nice! Have to find it
Yes i was pleasantly surprised with the results
Awesome review!! How did you reach your pale blonde before dying with this dye?
My natural color is a medium brown and i use the l'oreal feria absolute platinum hair dye in the color extreme platinum. Thats my go to blonde dye.
Thanks for the update! I haven't been able to find this color yet, may have to order online. :/ But I did get the feria smokey silver that I'm going to try this week. In the past I wasn't terribly fond of feria colors as they faded super quick. We'll see how this one goes. Have you tried the schwarzkopf silver?
I haven't tried that one yet, but I love trying new gray/silver dyes so I will have to add that one to my list!
schwarzkopf has a silver?!?! I'm going to have to try finding that one thanks for the heads up. also when it comes to the Feria silver I heard another reviewer who said that stuff faded to that dreaded green stage, so be careful.
@@Intothevoidnow thanks for the heads up. :) I think the schwarzkopf was new, it was with the pastel metallics.
RedWagon oh yeah it’s called got to be. I’ve tried the smoky steel color but haven’t tried the silver one I was too nervous about it. But the smoky steel one worked great and faded to a gray purple.
Domestic Disgrace yeah the to be metallic silver is grate but you got to have platinum blonde hair for it to work most likely white hair
I have platinum blonde hair and i want to create shadow roots with this. Do you think if i cut the time in half it would be lighter???
I'm not a hair colorist, so I can't say for sure. This color developes rather quickly if memory serves me right and it does end up pretty dark initially. If you want to create a shadow root, I would recommend using a direct dye (one you dont have to mix with developer) and dilute it with conditioner or a hair dye diluter to create a softer fade. Hope this helps!
@@LaurenLex yes ma'am it sure does!!! Thank you girl!!!
This was very helpful! Any thoughts on what the results would be on greyish-white hair? (Natural not dyed)
Hard to say, but my best guess is that the color would turn out a little more cooler or slightly purple toned just because there isn't as much yellow pigment in the naturally white colored hair. I find that after gray dye fades in blonde hair, it can pull just a tiny bit greenish from the mixing of the yellow pigment in blonde hair and the blue/neutral pigment from the gray. But that is all just a guess
In the box is not recommended for hair that is more than 50% white.
Would purple shampoo keep the color? I got this dye and I’m so excited to try
I'm sure purple shampoo would definitely help prolong the color. I just like to test the hair dye without using it so I can get an idea of how long the color lasts on its own. But yes I think it would be good to use purple shampoo
Lauren Lex yay! Thank you so much! I am nervous I haven’t done silver before lol so it’s new to me
Thanks for this video. Do you use color toner shampoo?
During my hair dye fading videos, I usually don't use a toner shampoo because I don't want it to skew the results of the fading process. But if you do, it can significantly extend the life of the color. Hope this helps!
I wonder if using this on darker blonde would tone out the warmer tones.
Did you ever try it to tone out
@@gracebenitez9604 I did, didnt do much
Can you dye brown hair grey
I dont think this would work over brown hair. You would most likely need to lift the hair to blonde and then dye it gray for this to show up. Hope this helps!
Would this dye work on orange or yellow hair
Kinda hard to say, but since orange is the opposite of blue and gray is mostly made up of blue pigment, it would likely neutralize it. But i'm not a professional so take it with a grain of salt!
Lauren Lex ok thanks! Oh what about after I toned it with a purple shampoo because last time I toned it looked pretty platinum
It depends how orange it is. If its super light blonde but a little orangey, i think it would work just fine with purple shampoo first. But if its really midtone coppery orange its a bit of a gamble. When its a darker orange, i find that purple shampoos dont do much. Hope this helped a little!
I think that colour looks lovely on you , but from experience I can say all hair colours fade after a few washes ,that’s why I never get upset straight after I dye my hair , I know it will be lighter the following week
Same, if I'm ever unhappy with a hair color, I usually like it more after a couple of washes
If u leave it on less than 20-25 minutes would the color be not so dark? Like maybe leave it on just for 15 minutes?
Its possible. However I think at least from my experience, how long you leave the color on for tends to just affect how long the dye actually stays in your hair rather than how dark it gets. The color just is what it is. But of course, it can probably help a little bit if you dont want it to be as dark.
@@LaurenLex Thank u so much for getting back to me so quickly! Appreciate the advice. Love your video! It was very well done & informative!😊
Aww thanks! ❤
would it be considered a cool color?
Yes I could definitely call this a cool gray/silver
Do you think it would cover light pink hair?
I have never tried it over a light pink but I bet it would cover it.
