    Nice update thanks Troy & Rebecca. I saw Rebecca's eyes light up when that first Spider Crab came up! It will be interesting to see what ends up in the first pots of the year. Never heard of a 'by-the-wind sailor'. Guessed it might be some form of Jellyfish but googled it to be sure.
    Stay safe & well - Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍

      Those first spiders are always so full of meat, really tasty by mid season they are not so good anymore. Its nice to see they made it here Its a real treat when they arrive each year.

    Looks a little chilly out this morning, well it's night time here, ty both for a great vidio. 5he wheels are what we use off the dock here in Oregon, we call them crab rings. We have Dungeness and red Roch crab here. They are very tasty. 😊 mike

      I have seen some videos on the Dungeness and Red rock crab. The Dungeness crab does look similar to our brown crab. I like the way in some places they use a fishing rod and snare to catch them. I wonder who came up with that idea.

    Hi Troj and Rebecca ... Seems like the longer/deeper white mesh are better at catching? ...

    • @Trojwaterman
      @Trojwaterman  2 місяці тому

      It did appear that way although I think it was more its position as we have used them from the shore before and the white one has not always done that well.

    Is the difference in catch with the crab rings because of the different size netting and or colour of nets.? They seam to get stuck in the smaller mesh!

      I think it was just the location as from the shore the other wheels have done better but it could also be the depth and the deeper mesh is catching better as the crabs cant walk off.
