  • Building a Hardening Table is Easy way to Harden off seeding and keep it organized for growing abundant of vegetables at home.
Nature sows directly outdoors. Many times, plants sown directly outdoors are more vigorous and healthier. Also It's often easier as well and that is why we built an outdoor seed starting area.
This is part 2 Build a Hardening Table of Outdoor Seed Starting Area.
Journey with us on our video series where we layout and built the best seed starting outside in a contained environment where seedlings are less prone to pests and diseases.

Your videos have indeed encouraged and inspired my garden. I have landscape timbers edging my earth garden beds and made my own seed starting area for fall crops using your idea of letting the morning sun in and shading the evening sun. I also got the idea to plant in utility tubs from you. They are less than 7 dollars and I love them for my herbs. Thank you for sharing

Thank you for taking the time to show how to build the infrastructure for your very large garden. It takes a lot of work to get ready to garden and you have to get used to your new property also. Florida will offer you different challenges then Virginia. Good luck with all of your endeavors.

You handled that table pretty well with the dolly. I had a time moving my 4x8 raised beds with mine. I could hear that Benny Hill music playing in my head as I fought it. Wish I had video of that scene. God bless

You are SO right in the preface to this video. Plants started out doors, DO grow happier and healthier, as they are "Hardened Off" from birth. Exposed to wind, rain, and full sunlight.
Last year my wife put some egg plant seeds in the ground, 4 out of 6 sprouted and grew to 3'+
tall. This year we planted Roma's from seed, about 6-7 weeks, 2 & 1/2 feet tall and in blossom. The only thing I wonder, on those tables, what will you do to keep birds from your
tender seedlings. I'm sure the Man With A Plan, has something up his sleeve!!!
Agree, planting seeds standing up, WAY easier than on your hands and knee's on a 50' row, much easier to maintain.
    Room enough for almost 1500 plants, (2" plugs), 700+, (4" pots) WOW❗❗❗

Your thumb is so green!! Keep up the good work👍. I haven’t had any problems with birds on my seedlings. The only time I have ever had a problem with birds is when I direct sow beans. The bean seed comes up with the seedling and the birds and squirrels will devour them. That’s why I use the tin pans on strings suspended just above the freshly planted bean rows. I usually remove the tin pans once the little beans fall off

Do you use anything on your wood builds to protect it from moisture and insects? Thinks like Thompson's Waterseal or similar things? If so, what do you use? If you don't use anything, why is that? Thank you for your time.

@@turkeyrunfarms He burns off trash vegetation and diseased trees, so that the healthy trees don't get infected/infested. Also, he had to remove a lot of leaning trees that could have destroyed that awesome fence he's got around the garden area. Can't leave that wood laying around to attract termites (FL has a terrible termite problem) and other pests. In this and some of the other videos, you can see how smartly and safely that huge burning pit is constructed.
