The theory of Majora’s Mask being a relic of the Sheikah can make more connections with the “Dark God” with the inclusion of Majora’s Mask making Skull Kid specifically use their power to pull down the Moon instead of creating something else, like a meteor. Plus, the Wrath Form Majora’s Mask could be a twisted version of the “Dark God.” And not only that, it’s possible that “Majora” could be the name of the “Dark God” considering that the name of “Majora’s Mask” sounds like it’s meant to be a homage to someone specific that it’s supposed to represent.
@@celestialmon539 Im thinking more the Moon God trapped Majora in the mask, which is why Majora wants to crash the moon into Termina and why the HMS knows about the mask and the ancient tribe
Man, we’re on the same wavelength with the “opposite” wording from Jerrin. Instead of “good vs evil” I see it as more of an opposite that completes the other. Like complimentary opposites
Thinking of Yin and Yang connections as well, it’s interesting how Yang correlates with Sky and Yin with Earth. The Earth Temple in Windwaker always intrigued me, and between the spooky mask-like centerpiece in the dungeon, and darker elements reminiscent of the Horned Statue, I think there’s definitely thematic elements connecting the games whether consciously done by the devs or not ☯️ ☯️
I actually think the Horned Statue is the old man in the cave from Zelda 1 on the NES, the old man that takes either a heart or rupees from Link. Edited to fix the mistype.
A very well put together theory! I myself have always had the idea that the "Third" to Hylia and Demise is the Fierce Deity. His description reads as having power darker than Majora's, adding to the God of Darkness aspect and he has a crescent moon on his armor breast plate showing his connections to the moon (opposite Hylia's solar attributes). And I also believe Link is the human incarnation of the Fierce Deity(much like Zelda being the reincarnation of Hylia). So much like how Link and Zelda compliment each other, Hylia and the Fierce Deity are opposite yet complimentary Gods. Also when you consider you can't obtain the Fierce Deity mask until you've eased all the troubled souls in Termina, that cements his association with the Life/Death exchange. Hylia's/Zelda's opposite may have been right under our noses from the very beginning in the form of Link/Fierce Deity which would explain why he's always the one tasked to save Hyrule.
In Majora’s Mask there’s speculation that there does exist a moon goddess and a sun god and that they might be married since the sun and moon ask is used for marriage ceremonies. This two gods are also speculated to be the parents of the fierce deity
Its been speculated that the happy mask salesman was some kind of god for a long time. So this is a very interesting extension of that idea. Im curious to see how (or if) you'll incorporate majora into the theory.
Tbh Majora isn't a big part of what I'm thinking. All I've got is that it was probably the HMS who sealed Majora in the mask, which is why the HMS knows about it. Also why Majora would make the moon crash, to get revenge against the moon god who sealed them
What if the Ancient Heros Aspect inspiration came from Majoras Mask transformations with the design being halfway of a devine beast(Wolf) and man, The Heros Shade does teach Twilight Princess Link the Song of Healing.
I believe that the Sheikah’s association with shadow might of come later and was not their original “depiction”, in Skyward Sword Impa is associated with light her allegiance to Hyliaand her wielding light based attacks I believe between the interloper war and the Hyrulian civil war is when the sheikah started became associated with shadows with all their dark deeds.
@thinkingatmaxvolume1992 I was wondering - how does the totk classification of Sheikah (hylian) come into play. While they've previously been seen as separate races including life expectancy differences and skill advantages, in the Wolds era they don't seem too different from the average hylian in terms of race (just live longer). Is it possible that the sheikah had to intermarry to keep their race alive?
@@shanadorgelo I would guess probably? Alot of games either say there's not alot of them, or don't even mention them at all. But they could have just been hiding. I'd imagine intermingling happens just because protecting the royal family would keep them close to the hylians. But yeah if their numbers really did get so low like some games say then they'd be forced to intermingle. EDIT: maybe EoW will answer that, since it looks like they're in that game? But I don't think it affects this theory much tbh.
I'm surprised you talked about Demise being based on Susanoo and didn't mention how a guy possibly inspired by the God of Storms has a boss battle in an active thunderstorm and powers up his blade with the lightning that strikes it.
Yeah someone else pointed that out too I will try to remember to add a clip of that in part 3. EDIT I should also not look up comments on my personal account lol
Hylia got mad at The Happy Mask Salesman because he let Majora's mask get stolen. Hylia then trapped him in a statue and gave the spirit of the merchant to Beetles who had already proven himself in Skyward Sword to be a fitting replacement

Makes sense why there are so many poes lingering during a Ganon rebirth cycle, their normal passing is confounded by the blood moon
