I think people should understand that syncing from lightroom classic is not "saving images to the cloud". It's only uploading smart previews, NOT the originals. The smart preview uploads don't count towards your storage space.
Thanks Anthony. I get so much from your videos. Super appreciative. :-) Each user to their own on such issues of course, but it's worth mentioning that Adobe take full right to all content on their cloud service. I recently lost a legal fight with Adobe regarding ownership of my own content. Adobe were unapologetic about the whole thing, saying, "You should have read terms and conditions more carefully." The end result was they kept it and blocked any control I had over the content. As a result I deleted Lightroom from all devices. I only use Lightroom Classic now and turn off all syncing where possible. I won't be caught out a second time. I don't mean to speak negatively about your video at all but I think one must use their cloud services aware of what it might cost them.
Thanks so much.... I can't believe I did it. Had trouble syncing to cloud but found a way to fix it. Open Lightroom Preferences and click on the Lightroom Sync tab. Hold down the Option (Mac) or Alt (Win) key and you will see a button to "Rebuild Sync Data". Click that and let it run which will include restarting Lightroom at the end. That rebuild process resolves most issues
Thanks for this explanation. I have been trying to figure this out and Adobe does not explain it well. Maybe you could make a video about how lightroom classic and the other lightroom are supposed to work together. The one that runs on laptops. It seems like Lightroom Classic should only be run on one machine, I am running it on my Mac Studio. Running Lightroom Classic on my laptop as well when I am traveling is causing chaos, I guess that is what the other lightroom is for. It is not well explained by Adobe.
Hi Anthony, thanks for this great post! One problem I am having is that my collection in public view is missing some of the edits we have done in lightroom. Any ideas why this would happen?
I do not have the little box by my collections in Lightroom Classic that let’s me share my collections with the cloud and Lightroom. I have a feeling I need to click the little cloud icon in the top right of my screen that says it allows syncing but I am afraid it will start trying to upload all 10,000 photos.
@@CHoudijk Thank you for the reply! I have it figured out. I hadn’t turned on sharing for the application; I didn’t want it to share everything without me having control. I finally found a source that explained that turning that on simply makes sharing available, not mandatory.
Hey Anthony, I love your videos! I'm interested in doing this, but I don't have that "Sync to Lightroom" option when I create a collection or when I right click on a collection as you showed in the video. How do I get that to work? Thanks!
I don't have a sync option either. I have found how do this otherwise, but I understand Adobe is removing the option of sharing from LR in February of 2024. What does that do for sharing Galleries from LR?
great tuto. Unfortunately too short. I have few questions : - how do we make a cloud collection public to only few members of family ? - i see your collection contains a 248MB tif. how do we post 1500px long side 80% jpg ? - how can we sort images into albums, flders and subfolders ? like animals, macro, portrait, family... and subfolder, for instance in family, dated events subfolder names like "2023-11-03 Emma birthday"...
No sync option here as well. Still trying to figure out how to use Lightroom Classic CC sharing to share my ready photos for clients to receive (without exporting and manually uploading to another service).
Years go, I think when C1 was still a feature of the Phase One UA-cam channel. David Grover made a video about sharing from Capture One. It's more flexible than this, and should work for LrC and Ps.
I get synched to Lightroom and it shows that the collection is public when I hit that button. But the “view on web” and “copy public link” are grey and don’t come up. When I go to “view on web” under private link I get a greyed out version of the photos in the browser. Do I not have a setting right in my Lightroom account? Advice?
I'm with some of the others. There's no little box to click next to the collection name. I have a CC account (just checked that it's active), but don't seem to be able to do what you've done. I'm on my MacBook Pro in Lightroom Classic. Anybody know what I can do to synch the collection?
Hi Anthony, I cant find the check box to the left of the collection folder. Also in the activity center, I do not see option "to sync with lightroom". AM i doing anything wrong or missing something here?
Interesting, but I guess I just don't get the concept.................it appears that the only way this will work is if all of my catalog is first synced and uploaded to the cloud........i.e. I made a collection of two photos to give it a try, turned on syncing and it started uploading everything in the catalog even though I only selected the collection with the two photos to sync. Got to be a better way than dumping an entire catalog of several thousand photos to the cloud just to share two of them...............
That's what this was, a new collection, consisting of just the two images........I've got a query off to Adobe, but no reply so far........thanks for the feedback.

How would the viewer download the images in the gallery?
This is really neat, I didn't know it was possible! Thanks for making a video, I'm trying to iron out the kinks to get a gallery going.
This is very timely. I had a buddy use this feature and I was wondering how he did it. Thanks, Anthony!
Very well done, Thanks!
Amazing. Thank you so very much. Those pictures are truly amazing.
Thanks - I wasn't aware of that functionality.
Brilliant! Thanks for that very useful information.

How would you know that someone has shared their photos? Do you get a notification?
How can I save the photos from the public viewing?

Can you do this with Camera Raw and bridge?
Greetings Anthony. I have two pictures (each of a twin) and want to create one picture to print it out. How can I do that in LRC? Regards, Paul

When I create a collection I am not given the option to sync. Has this feature been removed?
What if I want to share with just one (or several) person? Can I do that?

Odd, I don't have the little boxes/arrows next to my collections either. Definitely have the Adobe plan that provides for cloud storage.
There is a cloud in upper right hand corner next to "web" Turn on sync and the boxes will appear.
@@richpurcell what a satisfaction when you find exactly what you need on your problem in comments :D thanks

What happens to stacked images? Does it only sync the top photo in a stack?
I'm assuming someone can't right click on your images and download full resolution images?
My Lightroom links are all greyed out and I cannot figure out why
I’ve used this before but the connection breaks consistently. Headache.
how can the viewer download the images other than having to screen shot?
I keep clicking make collection public but nothing happens 😬

Do you perhaps try it with a smart collection? I believe it doesn't work with those
What about sending pictures to lr app on your phone?
If you sync the collection it will also be visible in the LR mobile app as well as the cloud.
