Smh...Mine is not giving me the option to sync to lightroom
Hmmm, sorry you are having trouble Danielle, I just checked to see if there was something that was updated and not available anymore but it was there in Lightroom after I selected the images and then made a new collection. Were you able to make a collection? If so right click on it and it should give you the option to sync with Lightroom and see if it is checked if not selected.
@@pablodiazphotography I figured out wat the issue was, thanks.
@@danielleburks4436 can you tell me how you figured that out? I have the same issue. thank you
@@dudabreda4249 Yes, up top in the right hand corner u will see an icon that looks like a cloud, click on it and turn on Sync. You will now will then have the option to sync to lightroom.

Great content really helpful did my first shoot a couple days ago and now I can feel secure my photos will keep the quality and value.
That’s Awesome! I’m glad the video helped and congrats on your first shoot 👍🏼
You are a life saver. I just wanted to be able to share a couple pictures after a shoot but didn't want to sign-up for any other services... I am already subscribed to Adobe so this will save some cost and not compromise on quality. Fantastic!
Subscribed.
That’s awesome Mohammad! Also, people have been asking me this quite frequently, so I thought I’d pass along the info. Sharing your photos to view is spectacular, I love the format, but if the client wants to download a photo it will be a lower res version, just FYI.
Thank you! That was the exact the info I needed to begin sending my images to my wedding clients!
So glad it was helpful

Thank you for this information!
Very quick and easy to understand explanation of how to go about using LR CC to deliver your product to the customer. Thanks man. Very much appreciated. You’ve got my sub.
I am glad the video was able to help Jarrod, thanks for the sub too!
@@pablodiazphotography Well deserved. I’ve honestly never heard of these capabilities before. Kind of a game changer. I’ve delivered via Gdrive before. But this comes off much so I more professional. And the clients were noticeably impressed.

Thanks so much for posting this. It's short and sweet and you get to the gist of it! Plus I love your out takes at the end! Nice job. Oh, can you please tell me more about your laptop set up in the back, this is something I'm looking at doing since I only have a laptop right now. Thanks again!
I appreciate the comment and glad the video was helpful. Can you please clarify your question about “laptop setup in back?”
Exactly what I was looking for with regard to the shareable link vs invitation.

You learn something everyday!😃 Thanks for this video!👍🏼 I have been using Lightroom Classic for a while now but was never interested in using Lightroom (online). That may change after this video. Diaz’ Always warmly welcome on this channel. I appreciate the comment!
Thanks for explanation..... very helpful. An episode idea.... Creative Cloud storage.... is that were the Lightroom photos live for sharing, or does the link share directly form the drive on your computer? An explanation about the finer points of CC and file management would be appreciated. I have 100 gig of CC storage but with painfully slow internet. I only want to store there the files I choose, not everything I create I Adobe. I'm sure the answer is simple, but I haven't landed on it yet. Merry Christmas. Love watching your channel grow.
MOVINPICS Thank you very much for the thoughtful comment. This very topic is on my list of future videos. I think file management is a struggle for all of us, so this would be an excellent video. Merry Christmas and have a super New Years!
Nice quality video man! What was the mic setup you used for the talking head stuff.
?
Hey Flife! Happy New Year! I used the Rode VideoMic. I have had this since 2015 when I started vlogging. I use it a lot when I'm in the studio. I left a link for it in the description of this video, I know how confusing the Rode Mic names can be.
This is great! Thank you. When you share the final images for the client to download, do you know if they are able to download the hi-res version, or if it just downloads a smaller version?
Great question, unfortunately it provides a smaller res image for download. My hack has been to utilize LR for viewing and then deliver via Google Drive.
If you originally upload the pictures in Lightroom cc, they will be downloaded to Lightroom classic. You can edit them in Lightroom classic and the edits will show up in Lightroom cc. By doing this you get full resolution downloads instead of the smaller downloads.
I do use LrCC in is awesome.
Awesome 👍🏼
This was so helpful! Wanted to know does this feature take up space on your lightroom cc database while sharing the album? I have over 800 photos I m planning on sharing to a couple and wanted to know will it take up room for any future projects I create?
This is a great question! The web-based Lightroom will take up cloud storage. Lightroom provides you with 100 GB of storage with you subscription, but once you fill it up, you will have to buy more storage or make room by deleting or transferring photos.
How would you add a watermark and share the link? I have the photography bundle. Thx. Great helpful video
Kevin Moore Hi Kevin, great question! I see that you can only add a watermark to exported files, not for viewing in mobile. Here is how you add the watermark: While in your album, select the SHARE arrow symbol at the top right of your computer screen, then select export, check the box that says watermark. If you want to edit your watermark, select the dial. I will get back to you if I find a better solution or let me know if you run into some info that may benefit us all.
Is the image quality good enough for bigger prints when downloaded through the lr link? By that i mean that the clients are not able to choose if they would like to download the images with full size or as a small JPEG like we do when we export from LR.
No, the download will be low res and I would not recommend printing large from a download.
I’m super intrigued about this as a delivery process to try. Only question is, do you have a time limit before you remove them from lightroom/sharing to free space that would inevitably run out? If I’m sending clients links with 50 or so pictures that can add up quickly on my end while they are still available to clients.
As far as I know, no photos will be removed until you remove them because once you reach your limit in storage capacity, you just won’t be able to load anymore images into the cloud storage. You should know that one of the cons for Lightroom storage, and the cloud is that the images that are viewable and downloadable by the client but not full resolution images. I wish that was different, but at this time it is not. Just FYI.
Today I learned something new, and useful, thank you!, one question, what quality of download will the client receive when they download?
Thanks for watching David. Unfortunately I found that a lower res image is all that is available via the the mobile/online version of Lightroom. What I have found as of late as a work around is to turn on proofing in the web version of Lightroom and have the clients make selections and then I deliver full resolution via Google Drive.
@@pablodiazphotography thank you, I will give that a try, I’ve been using Pixiest to deliver pictures, it is really nice, but after a while, it adds up to subscriptions, and that can surprise your wallet. Thanks again.
@@DavidHernandez-fp4sw Totally understand, cutting costs where you can, is very appropriate.
Pablo, what platform would you recommend for sharing photos to a client with full res? Do you have a video on this topic?
This is a great question and honestly over the past year I’ve done much less client work and have been very satisfied with just using Google Drive to share my photos. Here is a link to the video I created ua-cam.com/video/e27ig2J092k/v-deo.html
Is there a way to create smart previews in LR CC before editing and sharing images?
Hi Betsy, the short answer is yes. While in your Library, select the images you want to create a smart preview for. Notice the selected number of images under the histogram, right click on that number and create a smart preview for each of those images.
When download is enabled, what is the file size available to the client?
Also is there an option to watermark the images so as to prevent client from downloading the whole set and then ghosting you after that. 🤔😄
It is my experience that the viewable and downloadable file will be a 1/3 of the size of the original. I have found that if you choose to export an image from LR mobile, you can toggle on watermark but this choice seems to be missing when sharing (not exporting).
What would be the best way for a client to download them in full resolution?
Hi, do you restrict where clients can print their photos, or can they do it anywhere they like. Personally, I like certain pro printers and would not like them printed at a sub-standard printer. Because they may not come out printed as properly with all the right colors. Thanks
Anne, You bring up a great point which isn't talked that much about. I personally provide access to the digital files and the client can do with them as they wish. However, it would be worth advising the client that their mileage may vary from one printer to another. Or to further control the process and the work would be to include the printing as part of the package but that may add a level of complexity that many photographers do not want to deal with. Regardless, I think this a great topic, thanks for the comment Anne!
Really appreciate that video but I found out by accident, that the resolution gets dumped down a lot. The original image in LrC is about 4600x5800 pixels (as well as the synced image to LR CC) and the downloaded one only about 1600x2000 pixels.
Have you experienced the same issue or do you know a workaround so my clients get the sime resolution that I have?
Yes, that is the unfortunate thing about this process. It's a shame that the photos do not hold onto their original resolution. What I have done in this case is still use this process for the clients to select their favorites or provide feedback and then I send a file via Google Drive and ask the client to download or move to the selected photos their own storage after 30 days.
Thanks mate. Well explained, cheers 👍
Much appreciated!! 👊🏼
works great only issue is I can't find how to share with anyone and not just someone who has a Lightroom subscription it doesn't give me the option has it changed since you made this video? I am using the new Mac m1 27inch desktop
Hi Nichole, sorry for the delayed response! Hopefully you have found a solution by now. However, if not, simply select the photo(s) you want to share, go to the share icon in the top/right of the screen, select the "Get a link", copy the link access and share with client. That link should open up in a web browser and clients can view and download the images. The only caveat is that if you allow the images to be downloaded, they will be compressed.
Hi there. Thanks for the very helpful video. I have two questions I'm hoping you may be able to answer: 1. If I share an album with one or more people, can I allow them to use star ratings? (or only likes and comments)? 2. If they do like a photo, does that update my album? Thanks very much
Hi Tom, I believe it is only likes and comments. And yes, if a photo is liked and commented on, it updates automatically in your Lightroom album.
@@pablodiazphotography Ahh. Thanks very much. While I'd like all of the people using it to be able to star, I can live with me starring, and my other participants indicating their like or dislike level with comments. It still seems to be the best option for photographers. Thanks for replying and for your vids. Keep up the great work! Tom:)
Do you have a video on how to import and sort files efficiently? Do you upload an entire folder to Lightroom and then shortlist them there??
This would make a great video. I do not have a spectacular system. I load all images into Lightroom, star images I want to edit and send to a folder in an external hard drive.
For Lightroom cc is there anyway to share file to client and have a setting to where they can edit as well?? If not is that an option in classic?
Saraya Davis Hi Saraya, this is a great question and I can see value in this but of all the sharing options in both Lightroom and Classic, I do not see a way to share where they can edit. If it’s something you ultimately run across, give me a holler. Thanks!
You could do that by sharing a file or image in CC, collaborate with edit permissions. Not Lightroom though: helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/collaboration.html
Is there anyway I can keep the pictures in the shared albums but delete them from my “all photos”?
Hi Betty, great question. Albums are directly tied to your “all photos” folder. If you delete a image file from “all photos” it will remove it from your shared album as well.
When I share a sync collection via the “copy public link” in Lightroom and shared to Facebook is there a way to pick what photo previews in the link?
Hi Ken, to my knowledge I believe that Lightroom automatically selects the preview image and there isn't a way to select it yourself. There may be some work arounds that I am not aware of though.
@@pablodiazphotography might be,right click on photo and look down at second to last.
When I try to creat collection there is no option to sync with light room? Do you know why that is? Has it changed in the last year
I just tested it to make sure and it seemed to work fine. When I clicked the plus sign to create a collection in LRC, there was a box under "options" called sync with lightroom. I clicked this box and it showed up in my mobile lightroom.
I also have this problem
It doesn't have the option you get Mr Buenos Diaz
The answer is down a few comments , the thread under Danielle Burks. It's working
How to see the shared file?
With 9.99 svc and only 20G I enjoy syncing all my images from LRC to LR. This puts online viewable thumbnails in the cloud that do not apply to the 20G limit. I have over 20k images w 0 of 20G of cloud storage used. Once in LR, sharing is as easy as selecting, and making a link as shown. Not print quality, but look great on screen. All full res versions remain in LRC on local storage.
Smart work flow 👍🏼 Thanks for sharing!
Good job. I was tired of using google drive
The one thing I do not like about LR sharing are that the photos are low res files.
Does the quality of photos downloaded through the shared album get smaller?
Hi Angela, I presume you would be sharing jpegs? Either way, upon sharing you can set File type (jpeg , TIFF), Dimension (largest available, small, custom) and Image Quality Percentage. So, yes it could be smaller depending on your sharing settings.
@@pablodiazphotography I would recommend trying to download those photos yourself via the site. I am 99% sure the photos you share via Classic are only previews and not good enough for your clients to print with. Share to social media, sure, but probably not ideal. Unless I am missing some setting within Classic.
If the client likes and comments, can we see and filter those back in Lightroom? Would be good from a workflow perspective where the client gets shown 10 pics but they can only pick 5 to print and frame. I don't want to go back and forth to see which ones they chose if there was a better way.
I've only been using Lightroom CC and I recently realized that when my client downloads the image it is in a low res dpi. What can I do to fix this? Are they working on fixing this?
Yes, unfortunately it currently is a low res file for download. Unfortunately Adobe probably won’t adjust this, but you never know. I have gone ahead and sent client full res photos via Google Drive or you have the choice paying for a service like Smug Mug.
@@pablodiazphotography okay thank you. I have used Google drive in the past. I may look into smug mug.
this is frustrating. Adobe has a million apps. Why not have an app that is meant for sharing with clients? Do they want us to spend our money elsewhere?
Is there a way to add a watermark in this process?
So sorry I never answered this! In LR select File(s) > Export and look to the right and make certain box is checked for include watermark. You can use text or import a graphic.
Sync wire Lightroom doesn’t come up as an option. Anyone know why?
If you click on the cloud icon in the right hand/top corner of Lightroom can you un-pause Sync?
Hi, We want client to view photos to order, not download. How do we do that?!
Hi Jessica, once you make an album, click on the triple dots in the top/right corner of the screen, select share and invite and then under invite enter the clients email address with Can View selected and you are good to go.
Buenos Diaz Imagery Thank you!
Hello is there a way to share with the water marks
Yes, in LR select File(s) > Export and look to the right and make certain box is checked for include watermark. You can use text or import a graphic.
I did this but all the photos that my client downloaded was resized from 5GB to 200mb. From 34MP to 4ish MP. So not very usable.
Agreed, better for viewing but stinks that it’s not the actual file size.
@@pablodiazphotography oh okay, so nothing wrong with the way I did it then. Well then this is completely useless for sharing jpgs with clients :p
Good for viewing online tho.
Buenos Dias a usted tambien...my first time here, i just sub i'm looking to get better at my photography "hobby" i guess hehe, I have been loving cameras/videos since forever ago lol anyways, now i take photos for my church and ocasionally at my daughter's school, as well as just for the family, and i'm looking for a good/easy/simple way to "share/collab" (probably) my work, with my church's media team. I really just want to be able to have a whole folder so i can put todo ahi that way i don't have to be sending a link todo el tiempo every time we have a new activity or event. etc. i'm often getting confused on what the folder or album is, i guess my brain is wired differently lol. but is there a way to share the whole "albumj/folder" ? anyways, i'm still watching the video, maybe your answer is there let me watch it hehe
You have a lot of great opportunities to take photos Mayra. Perhaps a simple suggestion would be to use Google Drive. This way you can place photos in a particular folder and provide someone with a link to that folder and you can add or remove photos as you wish and the client would have the one link to that folder to refer to.
Why not use the Proofing feature in lightroom CC? So your customer can see, select and comment on them?
Great suggestion SB. At the time of the video I was not aware of the collaboration proofing. The one thing I wish they would change is the ability for clients to proof the images without signing in, but since it’s free adobe should be able to do whatever they want. Thanks
@@pablodiazphotography just create a dummy email and change the password for each client
S B I did see that recommendation online And is certainly a viable option.
@@pablodiazphotography I act like such a pro, and yet I only learned this last week! I didn't mean to come off that way
S B No worries, I learned something new and may even do a follow up video 👍🏼
can client download them too?
Yes, you have to enable it to do so. Keep in mind the client will receive low res images. It's unfortunate but that is how lightroom treats its downloads.
Thanks for the video, but to my knowledge you/clients are not able to download high resolution images this way. When I shared images this way downloaded jpeg was 500KB. A little more when I uploaded the original file directly to Lr -> then you can download a little better quality, in mace 1.5MB. Still not a high res.
Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately, a lower res image is all that is available via the the mobile/online version of Lightroom. What I have found as of late as a work around is to turn on proofing in the web version of Lightroom and have the clients make selections and then I deliver full resolution via Google Drive.
I seriously can't believe the client can't vote/rate/Tick/X the photos for you to see. So annoying. I put "Allow to edit" but it just opens in their browser and they cant see anything.
I will say that there are better options out there at this point for sharing and connecting with your clients. I think the main flaw is that when you share a link with photos to review, the customer/client has to sign into adobe, which is a hassle! One work around to this is to create a generic email with password and send that to the customer so their experience will be a bit better. Also, when you share/invite, just select "can contribute." Then, when the client is signed in, they will be able to "heart" an image and also leave a comment.
This will be amazing, if the client can like or comment without Adobe account.
Agreed! One tip that was offed in the comments was to create a generic account that could be passed on from client to client and just change the password when necessary
Forgot to mention uploading to drive diminishes the quality.
It’s a great point to bring to bring to the conversation, thank you 🙏🏼
