How To Setup & Use The Facebook Appointments Feature [2021 Update]

- Did you know that Facebook has a fully functional facebook appointments booking system built into their Facebook pages?
NOTE: The Appointments feature isn't currently available for all Pages in the new Pages experience. If the Appointments feature was set up for your classic Page, you can manage appointments in the new Pages experience. Keep in mind: you need to have Facebook access to manage appointments on Facebook.
A couple of years ago I did a video about this, but it's changed a lot since then. So I've decided to do a full update tutorial on how to use and leverage it.

Thank you for this video. I don't have the "personal calendar" option in my appointment settings and cannot find anywhere to link up to my google calendars. It's very confusing. I keep getting notifications for an appointment but I do not know how to contact the person to send them a meeting link as when I send them a DM they never seem to get viewed.

I believe you need to go into your page settings and appointments then set new appointment times

Hello, this was very helpful. I have two questions,,,,,,, 1) is there an alert to set up so I am notified if I get a booking? 2) can I set up a way for the client can pay when booking? Thank You for your help
My apologies for the late reply.
1) you should get a notification from Facebook. I don’t always get notifications consistently on the platform. It’s why I Use the booking in my crm so I can be sure and automate the follow up. bluecowmarketing.ca/keaptrial
2) no options for payment there either, again I use Keap for this.
The book now button doesn’t appear on my business page. I’ve been trying it all morning on my phone on the Facebook app and following the steps but every time I look at the page it still says add action button.

I am using Facebook calendar however I want to have everything organized in Google calendar since I use other platforms for booking
Once I sync the Facebook calendar to Google calendar if I update or remove the schedule appointment in Google calendar by running a Zap to do that, will it be updated or removed from Facebook calendar as well?

Yes it should be, it's a live sync.
Hope you can Help. I have setup a new page but every time I switch on the Sync to Google and enter my google credentials, it automatically switches of the option. I have tried everything but nothing seems to work.

Hi! Your video was very helpful! I have one problem constantly and i hope you can help me. I synchronize my facebook appointments with google calendar but after some time it gets unsynchronized on its own. I have repeated synchronization many times, i test it and it works, but when i go to my appointments on random times to check if everything is good i discover that again it got unsychronized. Is there anything i can do about it? Thanks
To be honest, I don't find Facebook Appointments to be reliable.

Riddle me this Batman...when I am "creating an appointment" to my fb business calendar on behalf of my customer, it sometimes shows 2 boxes in the same timeslot for the same customer. Can you tell me how to just create 1 event in that timeslot? It's hit or miss on when it will do it. This is for recurring customers I book, not when the customer books. It did not always do this.

Hey there, how would I find the URL of the appointments 'pop up'? I'm guessing there isn't one (just the regular page URL). I was looking to create a button link in a Wordpress site that goes straight to appointments rather than just the Facebook page. Any ideas?

Great vid, but Keep getting the "Sorry, something went wrong" when trying to sync FB Appointments with Google Calendar. Is there any way around this?
Try logging in with incognito browser
I do not have the option of getting the customers email when I do this and email is an important feature we require in our business. Do you know why you have email in your appointment and I do not?
Great question. If the person is logged into FB (which most will be) it will connect it to the email on their profile and not prompt for it. I used incognito at the end of the video so it wasn't logged in (therefore asking for an email)
If I have a paid service and set the price, does Facebook automatically collect that fee or is that something that has to be externally set up?
FB does not process any payment. It's just a labelling feature. You'd have to process payment outside of FB.

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use it.
Is there a better version of this app with a paid business account? My problem with this booking app is that I can't designate certain times for certain services. I have services that I want to offer all day and others I want to offer at certain times. I can't seem to do this with the free version. Thank you for this vide0. I don't find much help on facebook :((
It doesn't appear to have that kind of option. I would lean you towards a tool like Keap. It would give you way more flexibility in appointment booking, email follow up, text messages, etc. As a 10 year partner with them, I've set this up for clients many times. im having trouble with client booking an appointment , they can book but cant put their phone number in and i can view the right time but when they book, its appearing the wrong time on their end.
say they book for 5pm tuesday
i can see that, but on their end its say 9pm monday.
i really need help .

Do you know how to track appointments booked through your ads and have the metric show in your ads results?
Hi Tom, I've not used the Facebook Appointment system for that kind of conversion and ROAS tracking. I usually use an actual scheduling tool that redirects to a thank you page one booked. We then report that back to the FB pixel as a custom conversion.
On my business page my appointment calendar blocks out everyday there is a new moon and customers can't set up appointments on that day. The message reads "new moon Google calendar 12am-12pm" and it none of my customers can set up an appointment on those days. Please help
Do you happen to have that as an event on your connected calendar. If you do it might see that as not available,

I used fb apps to set this up. I did everything like you said but the book now button did not show on my fb page. Why is that?
Did you edit the CTA button on your page to be BOOKING button?
Mine is off but the appointment button is still available and people still try to use it tho it fails.
Tiffany, you can click on the CTA button and change it to something else.
I don't know why FB doesn't appear an option to link your website to Fb booking. And I've noticed you also don't have that option either. Please help!

Hi I'm trying to get a class booking for my Facebook can I book lots of sessions at one time?
Unfortunately no. Facebook is very basic and limited to 1 per time slot. You could get by with the free version of eventbrite for this.

When I click to turn on the syncing with my google calendar, I get an error message. It’s really frustrating as the google and Facebook help, isn’t helpful. I have spent hours on this and I just can’t get it to work. If you could help, I would be so so grateful.

As of right now it's not possible as it's just google. but you could set up a free google calendar account and then sync that from google over to outlook.
Why are my customers getting an error message when booking through Facebook?
What kind of error are they getting? What's the page they are booking from?
